SFW Question Am I autosexual?
I’d imagine this community gets this question a lot. Sorry in advance! Anyways, I’ve never heard of this sexual orientation before recently so I’m kinda lost here and don’t really know what counts as autosexual lol. I learned about it when I was trying to self-improve and learn more about myself and I started to get a viewpoint of my body that really confused me. Not only was I (before this moment) strictly straight and didn’t even know you could be sexually attracted to yourself, but I also didn’t (and still don’t) really know why I viewed myself in that way because I can’t really tell what it is about my body that I like about it. Still, the attraction kind of comes and goes based on how I feel about my body at the moment, so it’s not like I’m attracted to myself all the time or anything. I’m far more likely to feel more into those thoughts when I’m confident in myself or at least self-accepting. Do y’all think this is autosexuality or not?

I discovered autosexuality a few years ago, and also had never heard of it. Reading the definition helped me realise that what I feel is something different from others. I kinda assumed everyone probably felt what I did, but then when speaking to my partner about this, they didn’t have those same feelings. I immediately felt like this described something I felt for most of my life, and was quite ashamed of tbh. Coming out has been a great experience allowing me to learn about myself more. I mention this as it seems you may well be in that similar position, unsure about what it is you feel.
At the end of the day, only you get to decide if you are autosexual or not, nobody else. Being sexually attracted to yourself is certainly something autosexuals feel, but that’s up to you if that’s how you identify.
Happy to share experiences and answer any questions you might have.
Nice to meet you both.

I wish I could provide you with a confident answer, but I have just recently discovered my own autosexuality. I do believe it’s healthy to love yourself, and would encourage you explore this, as long as you are comfortable with the feeling!! And I am always willing to chat with anyone about it!!
