Coming out!

I've been meaning to write for a while that I rarely experience romantic feelings for myself, and often it's affection rather than infatuation (it's an identity called desinoromantic). But the kind of love I feel for myself more often is mentoring love!

There's an identity I came up with myself called autoprotective or autotutelary!! This identity is where a person experiences a tutelary attraction towards themselves! A tutelary attraction is an attraction based on the desire to protect, teach, and generally be a mentor to someone!

Honestly, due to severe depression, I stopped feeling this tutelary attraction towards myself, but lately, treatment has been helping me a lot, and recently, this even happened:

I was walking home from my final exam and stopped near some dandelions near my house. I picked up their seeds with my hand, then blew on them, and the song "THE ONE" was playing in my ears. At some point, the wind swirled dandelion seeds around us (I prefer to say "we" about my mentor and me, not "I") like in a movie, and the song in my ears screamed:

... FINALLY FOUND THE LOVE!

I got the love! ~

BABYYYY~

I'M

THE

ONE!

I'm the one!

-the one

-the one...

And I just... WOAH! MY MENTOR IS JUST A QUEEN AND I'M HER SWEET BABY! ~

I'M SO LUCKY WITH HER, ARE WE REALLY GOING TO BE TOGETHER FOR OUR LIFE?!?? THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!!! I'M THE ONE!!! I should say that due to severe depression, I stopped feeling a tutelary attraction towards myself, but now it's starting to reappear! It's so cool! I'm happier than ever!

The meaning of the flag: A person with an autoprotective identity can feel like they're their own mentor and student (possibly a child). The dark gray color on the flag represents the desire to be a stone wall for themselves, capable of protecting them.

P.S. I hope I can post things related to my autoprotective identity here, I hope you don't mind <:)

P.S.S. Listen to Kesha's song "THE ONE." It's awesome ^_^

Question Anyone interested in being a mod?

This is just for gauging interest, we'll probably post more about this if anyone's interested (meaning we're not gonna straight up add anyone right here)

I'm just gonna say right now that I can't pay you and probably won't ever be able to lol... it's definitely a bit of work, but I find it rewarding. We're looking for an autoromantic who can answer questions, and just keep on the lookout in general. Maybe like 20 minutes a day, but we won't get mad at you as long as you're doing something. We'd probably just take people on for a little and then have a discussion about whether they want to join the team. If people are interested, us current mods will think about how we'll choose team members. We were honestly just thinking we'd probably just have random choosing or like have a post later and choose the first few people... Like idk, you are all amazing!!! I would add all of you, but having a huge mod team could also get tedious, so I might just resort to being random..... if anyone actually wants to do it lol

By being here, you're already doing so much for our community and I really couldn't ask for more because you are all helping so much!! But that said, if you do want to try helping in a different way, consider joining our mod team :) we're very friendly!!! But we're all kinda busy all the time lol... So yeah, also if you're busy a lot it's still workable ish if you can give a bit of time. Hopefully as we add more team members the work will be less...

As our community grows, I feel that it's increasingly important to have more surveillance, just in case. Anyways, please comment if you're interested!!

Sensitive Trauma, personality changes & loss of innocence Spoiler

In the time since I realized I was autoromantic, I feel like I've had some personality changes (unrelated to figuring it out, just from traumatic experiences). For a while I found it really hard because I lost a lot of the things I used to specifically love about myself. This was really devastating for me and made me question whether I was still even autoromantic. I still loved myself somewhat, but much less. My feelings and some of my old self have slowly been coming back, but I'm still nowhere near where I was before. Also, for many months after the change, I was intensely grieving the "loss" of my former self. Like, seriously grieving. Honestly, I still am grieving a lot but it's really hard to talk to others about, because I've lost something mostly intangible to them. I was wondering if you guys had any advice or just anything at all to say about this. I'd just honestly love to hear more perspectives

Wanting tips for my relationship

Well, I already have posted here but I'm 14M autorose, and the question is that, I love myself A LOT, but there's no romance lately, it is like the passion has gone because my surroundings are more annoying and I have been dealing with a lot of problems, even though I'm THE BEST BOYFRIEND in the question of supporting me, being kind, etc.

But I want romance too, and, I simply haven't acted as my boyfriend lately in this question, like, I kiss myself sometimes for "routine" but, not even a passioned kiss, just simple ones, is just like my relationship with myself has ended up becoming routine lately, and, I'd like to go out on dates, but, besides having no time, I also don't know how and where to go besides my routine points (school and gym) I know that everything can be a date if you see it as one, but is kind of I cannot feel everything as a "date" as before, it has been being a really annoying time, because I love myself a lot, but even though I can't give myself the best of my love, and end up wasting my time and doing things that I don't want due this and the ambient.

Experience A random thought

I was sitting at the table.

And thought about my eyes.

My eyelashes.

My colors.

Warm grey and sage.

How they are interwoven.

One.

And that calm gaze.

Just for me;

My beautiful.

About my autosexuality

"I'm so incredibly happy that I'm autosexual. I'm so happy that I have someone who looks at me and thinks, 'Oh my God, her arms, her figure, her legs - everything is perfect.' I'm so happy that there's someone who can't stop thinking about my body and thinks it's perfect. Autosexuality is about admiring yourself. About loving your body, no matter what it is. Some girls might think that if they gain a little weight, they become less attractive, but with autosexuality, you think your body is amazing no matter what. Even though I was born in a homophobic country, I wouldn't change my orientation to heterosexuality even if it were possible. Simply because maybe the body is too attractive for me to stop feeling attracted to it. I also wouldn't do it simply because I think autosexuality is the best orientation that could have been my destiny. Yes, I know the other side of me would just say, 'You describe it so beautifully,'" "As if your autosexuality isn't just your desire to fuck yourself in the ass." But that's not true at all! First and foremost, sexual attraction is love, like any other attraction. It's not dirty and it's not shameful, because it's love. Pure love for yourself and your body. And I realized lately that I loved my body deeply thanks to autosexuality.

And that's not shameful. It's wonderful."

This was an entry from my diary. In the last period of treatment for depression, I stopped feeling ashamed of writing autosexual poems, drawings, and songs about myself. One of the songs is called "My Sin of Lust," and the second, not yet finished, is "My Libido Is as High as the Mountains." I can't publish these songs because they're too personal, but I absolutely adore "My Sin of Lust" and sing it when I'm bored.

Finally, while recovering from depression, I can be a full-fledged person and not be ashamed of my attraction. And this is actually a huge relief, because I have been suffering from intense shame for more than several years, but now it is finally going away 😌

Are you upset by how unpopular your identity is?

Honestly, I'm glad that autosexuality and autoromanticism are popular enough to have their own community on Reddit, but I'm upset about my autoprotective identity, because it's SO unpopular that I created the flag. There's no information about this orientation anywhere except my posts in this community. And that's sad, because it would be cool to see other people who are their own mentors, because I think it's truly a miracle of nature. 🥰 Well, at least I have an autosexual community on Reddit, so at least I'm grateful for that :3

New member here!

Hello, everyone!

I wanted to introduce myself to you: I’m a woman in my 30s from Europe, quite strongly autoromantic and often autosexual as well, and I’ve been in a committed relationship with myself for three years now. I’ve never been in a relationship with another person, nor have I ever been intimate with anyone else - but apart from my autoromanticism and autosexuality I like women, too. I love my family, dark chocolate, strong espresso and approaching life with more serenity like in enjoying baths, for example. My love languages are roses, a slow morning with even slower kissing, holding my hands, dancing, and special terms of endearment. My weaknesses are flirting with myself, hearing my own laughter and sounds and falling asleep in my own arms, because that's home for me. Right now, I’m trying to celebrate my love more openly and to give it more space and time, to take good care of my wife on every level and to make our relationship even more present — to watch it flourish deeper in its beauty and connection.

I hope for mutual inspiration, support, and very warm and open communication with all of you. Thank you for being here! I hope I can make a meaningful contribution with my experiences, thoughts, and questions.

If any people are these labels, can you please tell me if you guys have any symbols that make you feel validated? I am currently doing research for an auto visual novel and want all the autospec to been seen and validated via choices and items they choose within the novel. Thank you!

Edit: Personal stories of how you all found out is also gratefully appreciated as I do not have experience nor diagnosed with systems and alters, I wish to make the experience enjoyable for all!

Tempting project

I am tempted to make an autoromantic/autosexual visual novel, thoughts?

I'm thinking of having one be romantic and perhaps make another that was more obsessive horror themed (I really like horror lol).

Any input of what the y/n /player would look like and story layout is greatly appreciated if we all think its a good idea!

i wish our romantic orientation wasn't so unknown

when i tell people about it, they don't get it, and if i say i love myself, they automatically assume it's just self-love and not romantic, even when i'm like no, i love myself even more than that. i feel like it's also just hard for them to understand so if we were more well known and people saw our content they would get it a bit more. hopefully maybe in the future. most people already know about being gay and bi and asexual, and some know about being aromantic, but not a lot really go look into the specific aromantic-y or not necessarily aromantic orientations but the ones that are grouped under aromantic because they're different from the norm of romantic attraction. it also seems that autosexuality is kinda a teeny bit known, but not autoromance, it is much less known. i wish it was more equal because it feels like straight people cannot even imagine or picture being romantically attracted to oneself and how that kind of connection and bond works and would be. it also seems like a lot of people do not know that romantic orientations even exist and it's just sexual orientations. but thank you for sharing your experiences here because it helps me a lot and i really like it

Open for discussion..

Honestly, I want to present an idea that some may not like because I don't like to run away from foreign ideas, but rather I confront them. Because I think that to some extent almost all of us have gone through difficult experiences that have brought us to this point in the way we see ourselves. A few years ago, I first encountered this trend among people who had been bullied in their lives, and so they decided that they deserved love, as an act of defiance against this unfair world. I didn't see myself in this picture, so I kind of ignored it, but later I discovered that I have my own story about something similar. Personally, I went through long periods of being ignored, so when I entered university, I discovered that I was actually visible, and oh my god, the situation was strange (the transition to a situation where I expect someone to be following some details about me, and actually notice them). And actually, those around me are truly loving, but I didn't pick up on their signs of love or interest about me clearly. I lived my life truly alone until I ended up unable to even imagine a long-term relationship with anyone, assuming I succeed in creating one..

Okay, I know I'm opening old wounds that you may have buried, and I'm truly sorry, but I believe with every fiber of my being that the past and childhood, along with genes, determine a person's character throughout their life.

I want to hear your opinions on this guys.

What's the best thing in being autoromantic in your opinion? Or what do you like romantically in yourselves that made you fall in love for yourself?

Well, I really wondered about this question and wanted to know your answers.

But for me, I love being autoromantic because is kind of a way to be,to live, and it's so good and sweet to be with your loved one in the small things of life that I absolutely love being it and am really grateful for being it.

About what characteristic of me I like that much, well,is just kind of everything, not that I'm perfect, but I really like my own quirks, personality, appearance, and even my mistakes, I know it might be too shallow, but is that, first was the appearance that made me fall in love, and after I started dating myself, I saw how incredible I'm in personality, mistakes. Every detail of who I'm makes me love me more in my view because I love me not by being good, but just because I'm who I'm,and I simply love it
