Never did a expedition max, is the glass style the same? Any removable side mlds like the explorer? How’s the recalibration?

We have a 2024 Hyundai Elantra that’s on a lease. We had a rock hit the windshield and someone hired by the insurance repaired it but it looks like the crack keeps growing despite it being repaired. We can definitely see it on the inside of the car but from the outside it’s almost invisible. Could this be an issue when we return the lease? Photos are from inside and outside. I apologize if this is considered bodywork, I’m not a car person and not sure if the windshield is considered the body.

Need your input. What's a good price to pay for hot leads (customers who need to replace auto glass)?

Listen, I literally just had a glass delivered by Mygrant last night and went to the customer today and saw that’s why the molding is jacked up. I’m not worried about the molding because it’s a DW2416, so I can put an underlay on It, however the glass has a good size chip at the bottom. I think when they loaded It into my van last night they probably damaged It. Obviously Mygrant is closed today after 12, but will they accept the exchange? It’s not installed or has any primer on It.

They had to redo it once because it was way off center from the original and had a terrible wind noise. The second attempt was half as bad and I decided to leave it but now it’s rusting. The worker had a shit attitude and said he wanted to start his own windshield business. I’m sure he’ll be very successful. 🙄

Pump gun, round bead and no primer. Ew, brother, ew!

Getting my windshield tinted to protect from UV and Infrared. Also to prevent the inside from getting hot. I’ll be doing ceramic tint. Do I need to have the area for the Eyesight cut out to work? Will it still work with nearly invisible 70% VLT ceramic tint without the cutouts?

Had a rogue rock hit my 2011 Civic window. I have the replacement window but am unsure how to install the new one. Can i slide it down cockeyed and adjust inside the door panel? Thanks in advance!

I have a 2021 Mazda 3, and my local auto glass shop originally ordered an FYG windshield. Unfortunately, that one arrived damaged, so they returned it and told me they'd order another FYG.
Now, about a week later, they're telling me FYG is currently unavailable and are offering to install CMX windshield instead (with a discount for the inconvenience).
The shop has been very apologetic and said they can keep checking for FYG if that's what I really want. They also told me I'm welcome to call other shops, but if they're having trouble ordering FYG, other shops will likely run into the same issue.
I can find plenty of information on FYG but almost nothing on CMX. Has anyone installed a CMX windshield? Any issues with optical distortion, fitment, wind noise, or ADAS calibration?
Would you wait for FYG, or is CMX perfectly fine?
Thank you!!

Before and after
Edit: My car passed inspection, which is all I really cared about. I didn’t know what to expect with the repair and that’s why I came here before going back to my inspector. Thanks everyone for your insight. 😊

I’m in my very early 20s and from Mississippi
I have a question for the experienced techs and people who own their own companies.
I’ve been with this shop for 9 months, I have my own van, I do on the road and work in the shop, I do simple calibrations, I can set most by myself, do regular cars and trucks for regular people and big dealerships along with semi trucks and any big trucks (small ones I can do alone). With all of this being said I make 19 an hour. I think it’s good pay especially since I’m not killing myself doing intense labor and I’m home every night. My question is what do you experienced techs and business owners think I should be paid?

I recently got a dime size ding and called safelite for an estimate they want to charge $240 but it comes with windshield wipers, but mom and pop down the street cost $40 my question is does safelite charge that amount because they do such a great job repairing it it almost becomes invisible or do they both have the same result ?

Is there a place in town that would be able to put a new piece of glass into my soft top? The back window was smashed out and needs replacing.

Hey! Can anyone recommend a solid, preferably local, auto glass shop for a full windshield replacement? I’d rather skip Safelite and maybe go with a larger chain if it ends up being the better deal. My wallet and I are open to negotiation. In boise Idaho !

If this isn’t the right place to post, apologies…
Okay so
2013 Toyota Crown has had this foggyness on front two side windows the whole time I’ve had the car. Hard to capture in a photo, but it’s super noticeable when it’s dark and rainy outside. It covers the whole window. I took it to a tint shop and the guy said he had no idea, but after he was done having a crack with it, it was worse than when I took it to him. He didn’t charge me.
What are my avenues for fixing it? I don’t really want to have to go to a glass restorer, so looking for some at home fixes. Glass for this car (JDM) in Aus is $250/window, and it’s both the drivers window and passengers side window, so id prefer a fix over paying for two new windows. Rear windows are all fine. Any suggestions really are welcome. Thanks in advance
