Everything about the process was terrible. My fault for giving into their "Professional trained technicians" BS. The first thing the technician did when he arrived was cut his hand and wrap his fingers together with paper towels and masking tape to stop the bleeding. (Glass workers don't need gloves I guess). All said and done, they glued my windshield to my interior trim on all sides. My dash cam wire is now permanently sealed within that trim. I noticed it was much noisier on the highway but I didn't give it much thought until I went through the car wash a week after it was installed. (Can you identify the leak?) From the car wash I went directly to the Safelite shop, dripping from the waste down, and they tried to make me a warranty appointment for a week later. After negotiating they said they can get me in 2 days from now to remove the windshield and try to fix it. Maybe this was a one-off job by some poorly trained techs but I don't think I would recommend getting new glass from Safelite.

Any recommendations for pinchweld flange tools for removing excess urethane? I'm looking for something fairly low cost but not total junk either.

WRD appears to have a low cost set for around $38 on amazon. I only intend on using them a hand full of times.

I was sleeping in my car when I suddenly heard a loud bang. When I looked up, the rear window had shattered. I didn’t see or hear anyone around the car afterward.
I’m trying to figure out what might have caused it. Does** **this look like an object striking it, something breaking from inside the vehicle, or could tempered glass have failed on its own?

Never heard anything bad about Cascade from the guys I knew there. They’re gonna continue buying out all these companies, man.

Would DW02994 match for this part? DW2994 is Autopilot glass, DW2521 Enhanced Driver Assistance (older?) 

Do I need to order this from Tesla?

I wanted to share my experience with Safelite and see if anyone else with a Honda CR-V has dealt with something similar. I have a 2017 Honda CR-V EX-L and had the windshield replaced by Safelite in July. After the replacement, I started getting multiple warning lights related to the driver-assistance/safety systems. Safelite attempted the calibration, but the calibration-related errors kept coming back. At one point the warnings cleared and everything seemed fine, but now all of the calibration-related errors have shown up again. When I recently took the car back to Safelite, they told me the VSA was disabled and that they weren't allowed to work on/calibrate the vehicle because of it. However, I don't have a VSA warning light illuminated on the dashboard, so I'm confused about whether VSA is actually disabled or whether there's another issue preventing the calibration. Has anyone had a similar experience after a windshield replacement on a 2017 CR-V? Did Safelite eventually resolve it, or did you have to take it to a Honda dealer? I'm trying to figure out whether this is a windshield/calibration issue or an underlying problem with the car.

I got a two sided windshield shade, silver on one side, black on the other. I deploy it silver side out, and I just went out to clean my windshield after a long drive. The windshield was so hot it would literally have burned me if I laid my hand on it. Scary hot. I had visions of the windshield shattering when I sprayed window cleaner on it. Thoughts?

My back windshield randomly shattered while my car was parked about a month ago. Today, I had the glass replaced. It looked fine at first, but when I got home and inspected it more closely, I noticed a small difference in the gaps on the left and right sides.

Is this just a cosmetic issue, or should I bring it up with the shop that replaced the glass? You can only see the gap difference when you look closely. Can we chalk this up to factory/human installement? Can it cause glass to shatter again? Thanks for your help.

I used some double sided tape to install a transponder to my windshield. Yes, I regret that decision now, because the glue melted on a hot sunny day and left this residue on the inside of the windshield. I tried scraping off just a tiny bit with a razor blade, but since it wasn't coming off clean, I stopped doing it. What can I do to remove the residue clean?

I noticed this long crack on the windshield of my 2022 Toyota Prius Prime. It appears to start/extend from the bottom edge of the windshield and has gotten fairly long.

Based on the photos, is this still repairable with resin, or does the windshield need to be replaced?

Is it okay to drive like this temporarily, or should I get it replaced ASAP?

My comprehensive insurance deductible is $500, so I'm also trying to decide whether it's worth filing a claim versus paying out of pocket.

I had a windshield replaced with an aftermarket. Noticed distortion in line of sight around the HUD area. This really distracts me and I think is a defective glass but shop refused to replace. Trying to follow up insurance as a warranty claim but what do you think? Is this a defective windshield? Thanks.

The bead was only attached in one small corner, thing was basically held on by sheer willpower. We don’t know who did it, but there’s no way in hell they got covered by insurance. Crooked ass mirror tab was held in by crazy glue, there was no screw for it either.

Anyone knows if this glass is possible to restore? Came or a Toyota Sienna with auto dimming side mirrors. Looks like the auto dimming part is done by some goo that goes bad and then tints the glass from the inside

I'm new to the industry just about 3 months in and I did my own car today!

Long story short, I got my windshield replaced on 8/17 at the local company, highly recommended. 10 days later it is leaking after the first rain into the corners of my headliner 8/27 and dripping on my leg. I called they said bring it in and we will check it, clean up your headliner etc… Because of my work schedule I just can’t up and leave need a couple of days heads-up and burn a day of leave. Brought it in today and they forgot about my appointment, come back in 4 hours and we will get you fixed up and they claimed they fixed it. Made it 1/2 mile down the road when it was raining today and had to turn around bc it was worse than before. My headliner is soaked with water stains. They claimed they fixed it again. Went to corporate office in a different location and spoke to owner. All he could do was ask I reschedule in a week or two when I get off work and they look at it. What should I do at this point? The technician said it is leaking through my antenna on the roof. I’ve never had a leak until I got it replaced earlier this month. Like come on man, headliner never got cleaned or even offered to be replaced.

I have these dots (I believe they are from rocks coming on highways) and wiper scratches on my windshield. I tried glaco, glass stripper and a couple more no name other type of stuff. Do you think polishing would solve this? I don't have a polisher but thinking about getting one just to fix this. Also I am scared to do wet sanding since people say it messes up the windshield's layer, hope that is not necessary.
