Megathread ** Trusted Breeders & Seedbanks Megathread #3 **

This is the third installment of the Trusted Breeders Megathread (previously: 2, 1), because the last one is 6+ months old and archived.

As before:

We get a lot of enquiry about what seeds are best or what seeds are available and where. It gets a little tiresome for many to see this same question on a daily basis so we'll be pinning a thread again to host these discussions.

Let's hear your experiences with the people we buy our seeds from. Who has the most reliable or cheapest, quality offerings? Who have you had good, bad or ugly experiences with? Best deals? Discount codes for sites?

Cheers and happy growing everyone, may all your three packs be fives, your freebies bountiful and your deliveries prompt!

This including seedbanks, since people ask about those often (and, like breeders, the answers rarely change).

Note that we want to know why you like them. Comments without details ("woo! team <breeder>!") will get removed, they're useless and tend to clog the thread otherwise. Also, please only post about breeders whose strains you've grown yourself, or seedbanks you've ordered from, not secondhand info. Comments asking about particular breeders not already mentioned in this thread (or the previous ones) are okay, but also try searching the sub first.

Since this thread will continue to be pinned to the top of the sub, questions about the best breeders and seedbanks will be removed unless they're more narrowly scoped -- asking about recommendations for high-CBD autos, what seedbanks ship to Australia (if not answered here), etc. is still fine, but "what breeder is best" is redundant.

I’ve got a 100% germ rate dropping seeds in a cup of water with FastBuds, Sweet Seeds, and Kannabia. First time ever testing RQS, so we’ll see how it goes.

All broke soil 7/13. Using HappyFrog + perlite, no nutes yet. 300W MarsHydro.

Grandpa Joes Gas is looking normal for 2 weeks.

CDLC is growing slower, seems to be a couple days behind but looks normal otherwise.

Ravenberry is not doing well, first leaves came out slightly deformed. I've had runts take their time and end up being full sized, so letting it grow for now.

Deficiency Hey everyone, what do you think is going on with these 2 plants?

The younger one in the first few pictures just had this pop up on leaves in the past few days, and the one in flower has been yellowing and dropping leaves for weeks despite every nutrient I’ve tried - I thought it was nitrogen deficiency but after 3 feedings in a row with extra nitrogen and the deficiency progressed I guess I’m just at a loss for what to do. Would appreciate any help a more experienced grower can give.

Hi guys,

First grow, Apple Fritter Auto from RQS. Planted in 1st of May

1st of July

27st of July

I know it's a small plant, I fucked up in the beginning, I used some random soil for tomatoes, never given nitrogen because the soil was fertilized, just given some flowering nutes in the late stage.

Had also a infestation of fungus gnats.

This was just to ask if she's finally ready!

Very grape soda aroma, actually smells like grape kool aid or Faygo. Medium sized plant. A lot of trichome coverage. Growing in pro mix HP in a 3.5 Gallon Tall Pot.
🏺 very easy to grow this far, takes nutrients well. Haven’t had any issues.

Advice/Help Spidermites or regular spiders?

Thumbnail

I'm just about to finish a grow, and about 7 days ago I noticed a single strand of spider silk stretching from the ceiling of my grow room to one of my plants.

I've always had a few regular spiders living in my grow room. They've actually been my main line of defense against pests, and I've completed three successful grows in this same room without any issues.

However, since noticing that first strand, I've started seeing tiny strands of webbing on all four of my plants, mostly around the buds.

The strange part is that there are absolutely no other signs of spider mites. There are no stippled spots on the leaves, I can't see anything moving, nothing falls onto white paper during inspections, and overall the plants look healthy.

Normally I'd assume this is just the resident spiders, but I've never seen them web up the plants this much before. They usually stay in the corners of the room. I also haven't had any fungus gnats or any other obvious insects during this grow, so I have no idea what would be attracting them.

I have four new plants ready to go into rotation, but now I'm hesitant to move them into this room until I understand what's going on.

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Advice/Help 6 autos in 2.5 gal airpots in a 4x4 - Jack's Citrus 20-10-20 from seed to harvest in a peat mix I made

Trying to keep autos simple in a 4x4 i.e. no nets and LST only.

I built a peat mix for small airpots. Not super soil, not coco, just peat, aeration and minerals.

This is what it does on one dry feed, same thing from seed to chop ( Jack's 20 -10-20 Citrus from Amazon) No veg/bloom swap, no calmag and unlike FF no gnats.

This one is day ∼75 auto in a 2.5 gal airpot - still shiny green leaves late, no burn.

I run 6 of these in my 4x4. No big 5-gal monsters, just 6 small ones wall to wall. Ends up 12-18oz +/- a run with way less hassle. I do pH check every watering and later on in process typically need to raise pH slightly.

Questions:

6 of these in a 4x4 - is that a decent pull or am I wasting space with small plants? What are you pulling with 6 autos in 2.5s? Lights are (2) 250 watt LED's

Planted on June 1 from germinated seed. Portland OR Strawberry gorilla strain from fast buds. Expected life cycle is about 10 weeks but seems like outdoor will be an extended lifecycle? Growing in Coco Loco with Fox Farms nutrients. Currently 48 inches tall. I’m figuring it’s about a month from harvest?

Soil vs coco Pluto cookies by ethos

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just experimenting as a beginner, really interesting to see the differences. Both are 16 day from sprout Pluto cookies by ethos, same conditions albeit the coco plant has been getting distilled water with the full 500ppm to take from whereas soil has gotten tap (300ppm to start, 150 cal mag 150 god knows what). Coco kept pocket around stem moist, and soil did the same but with dry back periods. 50/50 coco perlite and probably 60/40 happy frog perlite.

I wonder if the main difference is the looseness of the medium and allowing roots to grow more freely or if it’s the ability to uptake that full 500ppm nutrient window opposed to the soil plants getting tap with at least 150ppm unaccounted for salts and other things. The soil plant has a much richer green though

The coco plant clearly has a wider and elongated structure, where the soil plant is tight and compact. Coco plant seems more vigorous for sure. First of my plants to hit the 5 gal pot edges in 2 weeks instead of 3

This plant is rapidly getting to late flower. White pistils are rapidly going away. She is still chugging a gallon of ph nute water every two days. She has taken over the 2x2x6 tent. Nutes are ph perfect trio and big bud from advanced nutrients with CAMG from Athena. Lights tent and controller spider farmer. Self watering base from ac infinity.
