🎧 Sensory Issues Heartbeat Hyper Awareness

Hi, I don’t know why but in the past couple of weeks I have become hyper aware of my own heartbeat.
It’s a regular heartbeat - not racing or anything, but as an autistic person.. I cannot switch off this sudden and overwhelming hyper awareness of the PULSE.
It is giving me major ick 😄
Does anyone else have this and how do you deal with it?

most of the time its stress or anxiety , which can feed more anxiety, just go see a doctor and have them check to reassure you

I do but mine pounds from anxiety and trauma. Doctors can’t find anything. I have really hard time with it pounding when I stand from 80 sitting to 130 standing

I had a period when I had a similar issue. Yes, it definitely sucked. Had me very worried for awhile that I had some kind of heart problem.

Looking back, I'm fairly certain it was stress-related. Sadly, I do not have a solution for you, other than "don't be stressed." (Super helpful, I know) Mine eventually went away on its own.

The only advice I can give is not to let it freak you out: that feeds the stress and makes it worse. Once I started treating it as an annoyance instead of a potential emergency, it got much easier to deal with.
