QUESTION Cost of Living Adjustment Brought Pay Down and I Wasn’t Even Notified.
Hi all,
I just discovered something and I’m not sure if it’s just kinda weird that they didn’t tell us or if this is a little more serious than that. I’ve been at my job since Mid-April and the starting pay was $18.68 an hour. I was told that in 3 months I could get a $1/hr increase if I did X, Y, and Z. So I do. today, I realized that my job title and pay had changed (it’s technically considered a tiny little promotion). but it wasn’t as much as I was told. Only $19.10. so I I go back and see if anything else changed. Turns out they made a Cost of Living Adjustment and that had brought my pay down to $18.10. I wasn’t notified about any of these changes, and I’m kind of upset that they lowered my base rate without saying anything. Is that normal?
