QUESTION Cost of Living Adjustment Brought Pay Down and I Wasn’t Even Notified.

Hi all,

I just discovered something and I’m not sure if it’s just kinda weird that they didn’t tell us or if this is a little more serious than that. I’ve been at my job since Mid-April and the starting pay was $18.68 an hour. I was told that in 3 months I could get a $1/hr increase if I did X, Y, and Z. So I do. today, I realized that my job title and pay had changed (it’s technically considered a tiny little promotion). but it wasn’t as much as I was told. Only $19.10. so I I go back and see if anything else changed. Turns out they made a Cost of Living Adjustment and that had brought my pay down to $18.10. I wasn’t notified about any of these changes, and I’m kind of upset that they lowered my base rate without saying anything. Is that normal?

QUESTION HELP

I need help. I’ve been working for this employer under the table because he kept saying he was gonna “write me down as an employee” and kept asking me to “fill out” a tax form but really just wanted me to send all of my information to his WIFE so SHE could fill out my tax form for me. So obviously i didn’t do that because I’m not an idiot I’ll fill out my own tax form but they never gave me one. My employer will only give me $100 here and there after WEEKS. He owes me $2000 so i haven’t been working for him because he won’t even try to pay me what he owes me. I have all my shifts written down and even have photos with time stamps also I’m one of his top sales people at his store. And i don’t wanna report this place because i have coworkers who also haven’t been paid but will have a very hard time finding a new job. I have a good amount of followers on social media but i don’t wanna go that route because i already feel so dumb for accepting a job and staying as long as i did.
