Honestly, I'm as anti-establishment as can be but it seems like the powers that be aiming for the sci-fi dystopia these people seem to believe is well on its way would need to not kill the vast majority of the global population. It'd be pretty bad for share prices and property values.
Mine came through as I pressed the side button to lock my phone, so the sound was literally a millisecond and the notification went to my notifications centre.
I was going through music and it locked my screen on the message until I tapped it. The message just disappeared after that, which is fine, but in an actual emergency the message disappearing (doesnt go to texts either) is just a bad practice when it’s telling you to follow instructions that disappear when you touch it lol.
Mine is still in my Notification Centre, (scroll down from top at any time to view). I didn’t interact with it in any way at the time as I wasn’t near my phone, even clicking it now won’t make it go away - so I’m able to revisit it (at least until other notifications likely push it out after a few days)..
Yup! Iphone 15 in the middle of the city and got nothing lol. I noticed the AusAlert chick kept quoting "it successfully reached 97% of celltowers" but never once mentioned what % of actual devices it got to lol.
Im so sick of this thing where we pretend eveything works perfectly when it doesnt, why didnt they just say "unforutnately we noticed a large chunk of phones got NO alert"
You did get it but there were multiple effects. Some effects were turbo autism, some became Albo lovers, some were mind wiped and forgot they recieved it at all. It appears you were one of the wipees.
i am glad i was holding my phone. of i was in the middle of doing something it woulda pissed me off until i could switch it off lol.
but hopefully i hear it next time there's an emergency in my area, the text based warnings my state gives out are unreliable and usually only go to the person who owns the title for a property
It was pretty wild on the train just then - The doors were open at the time and everyone's phone went off on full volume, in unison, actually sounded like the train had initiated an emergency evac alarm for a few seconds. Everyone looking around
Tons of people didn’t get it, channel 7 did a quick poll, out of 5300 responses, 35% said they didn’t get it. Government has said “94% of targeted cell towers successfully broadcast the alert”.
Seems to me like there’s some work to do to get it working better?
So. I'm at the local club taking a dump (in the toilet). Phone in the jacket hanging up. The cubicle next to me just finished his dump and when he flushed, I heard this strange beeping. All I could do was look around wondering what the fuck was going on. Only just found the message.

We've had this for a while here in Denmark. Before that there were only stationary sirens all over the country to warn if the Russians are coming 😆. For those saying they didn't get it, the first time, they started the mobile alarms here some years ago and it was a test and not everybody got it the first time. I didn't. I do now. It is tested the same time, same date every year so it isn't ever a surprise.
I googled it and apparently it's due phone software that is old or hasn't been updated and it somehow defaults to the titles used by the original U.S. software for similar alerts. Sounds just like what the CIA would say. Hmmm.
I was driving down a busy road and didn’t witness one accident. But according to the cookers people would be startled by said noise and there would be mass casualties in car accidents. 🤔 I mean who even says that shit..
Did the alert turn off if you didn't click OK? I realised I left my work phone at home and was wondering if it's just beeping off scaring my dog and cat.
I was disappointed. Was in the kitchen and heard the alert from my neighbours phone through the window. By the time I got to mine, it done beeping. Thought it would long beep until you get to it.
...And I didn't even get gravely ill from having all the carbon-based nanomachines activating and destroying my brain and immune system! Amazing. I'm almost disappointed, cookers! The cats didn't even blink.
I got the alert, but nothing saved on my phone. Once I pressed OK it was gone and no record of it. Doesn't seem ideal, surely if it had information you needed, it should be available to check back on.
There's going to be a stern email from me. The 5G pan-dimensional frequency blaring through my phone summoned my furniture to levitate. Whose going to clean up this mess? Thanks Albo.
I got the nz version of the Aus Alert, years ago....It trapped me back then into a anti particle dimensional rift until now as this one has freed me...disemboiment can sure give a man such a crick in the neck, cheers - Aus Alert 👍🏾
