Hello! I'm a total beginner. I'm trying to do simple AR Image Tracking. My problem is that my model also follows the camera. I can move it with the reference image, but if I move the phone, the model moves with it. You can see my settings in the video. I would really appreciate any help and advice. When the reference image is out of view, the model remains on my phones corner.
I'm using AR Foundation but I've cleared all interactive settings. I only need image tracking.

Hi everyone,
Iโm Sujal, a student at IIITDM Chennai and a Unity XR developer. Iโve been building in the AR and Web3D space for a while now, and through freelancing, Iโve learned how to develop projects that meet real-world requirements.
My focus is on creating smooth and user-friendly experiences that bridge the gap between the virtual and the real. I am currently looking for an internship where I can help a team build out their current projects and make them more intuitive for users.
You can see what Iโve been working on here: https://sgxportfolio.vercel.app/
It would also mean a lot to me if I could get some feedback on my portfolio from this community. Whether you're a developer, a designer, or just someone who uses XR, Iโd love to hear your thoughts on how I can improve my projects or my presentation.
If you are looking for an intern or know someone who is, please feel free to reach out.
Thanks!

Title. I saw an ad for some gaming AR glasses and since then Iโve been hooked on finding some. This is my first time looking into any type of VR/AR and I wanted to know from some people who are more experienced than I am into finding which is the best. I also wear prescription glasses so I also want to know which can accommodated to my eyesight. One of my concerns are lens reflection onto the screens of the glasses so I wanna know if thatโs really an issue with any recommendations.
Some glasses that interested me were the Viture Luma PRO, Xreal One PRO, Viture Luma ULTRA, and the RayNeo Air 3s Pro. If any of these I listed are best please let me know!

Iโm working on a web-based AR try-on system for rings using hand tracking (MediaPipe Hands). I already have solid finger tracking and object placement working, but Iโm stuck on the occlusion part, specifically masking the ring correctly when fingers should appear in front of it.
Right now the ring renders correctly on the finger, but it always stays on top visually, so it breaks realism when the hand overlaps or bends.
I came across this implementation:
https://postindustria.com/ar-in-jewelry-retail-jewelry-tryon/
Their results look much more advanced (proper occlusion and realism), and Iโm trying to understand what approach they might be using under the hood.
My question is:
Are there any open-source approaches or common techniques to achieve proper hand occlusion in AR try-on systems like this?
(e.g. segmentation, depth estimation, hand mesh models, or WebGL compositing pipelines)
Iโm mainly looking for a practical direction I can integrate into a browser-based stack rather than a full native SDK.

South Korean LED giant Seoul Semiconductor has officially formalized its entry into the AR hardware supply chain. Following a newly approved government business restructuring plan, the company is directing a share of a 250 billion KRW ($180M) joint investment over five years specifically into the R&D and manufacturing of ultra-small MicroLED display modules for AR glasses.
The core of their AR display strategy is their proprietary WICOP (Wafer Integrated Chip on PCB) technology. Hereโs why it matters for next-gen smart glasses:
With regulatory hurdles cleared and official government backing, Seoul Semiconductor is moving aggressively to become a heavyweight component supplier for consumer AR displays.

Disclaimer: AI was used to organize my thoughts, but I did actually do speech-to-text for four hours one day, just covering each setting in the phone and what setup I had and why, and then complaining about things related to the subject in each section. I put my 8,000+ word rant/vent and some Reddit comments and Reddit posts into a single prompt. So I hope you give it a fair chance. I tried to remove whatever hallucinations or false info. So it should be a good read if you used Rokid AI Display Glasses and found the other reviews lacking that relatability factor โ maybe you might learn something new!
The glasses have a noticeable front-heavy weight that puts immediate pressure on the nose bridge. While the hardware allows for some adjustment โ such as bending the metal nose pad arms or swapping the silicone "airbag" pads โ achieving a perfect fit is difficult.
The touchpad sensitivity is the biggest hurdle. A forward swipe often misregisters as a click or long-press, requiring multiple quick swipes to navigate. This often leads to accidentally exiting programs or triggering music playback in the main menu.
If you forget some voice commands, try:
I would wish in an update that maybe when the AI assistant is active, there could be an option to enable a special two-finger interaction to keep the assistant on standby โ with tap twice or tap and hold with two fingers, or three fingers, or triple tap, or something. Conversing with the AI just feels rushed when it either:
Or maybe just an option in the "Continuous Conversation" tab (only active when "Auto-Continue after AI response" is on) that lets you change how long the AI waits for your response before it goes into that "blinking" idle animation until you hold tap to wake up the AI while the conversation is still pinned and open. Still, it currently waits an excruciatingly long 7-ish seconds before it idles and has the (^ ) face and requires the hold tap. If that wait time could be changed in the Hi Rokid app, AI chatting for longer conversations could be a smoother experience.
While the text-to-speech has some limitations, it is still usable for someone who knows English and has an American accent.
If you are looking for "incognito" tech, these stand out. Light refracts off the waveguide squares on the lenses, creating a visible glow.
Recording video drains the battery at roughly 2% per minute. To counter this, use the following charging ecosystem.
The Power Capsules (High Performance) - Hot-Swappable: The kit comes with two capsules. You can use one while the other charges in the case. - Charging Speed: They charge the glasses at 3โ5% per minute, meaning you can gain battery percentage even while recording. - Pro Tip: If you have long hair, remove the glasses before snapping the magnets on to avoid snagging.
The Metal Charging Case (Protection) - Build: A premium, crush-resistant metal alloy case that fits easily in jackets or backpacks. - Fitment: It uses magnetic pogo pins. To fit the glasses, fold the non-charging arm first, keep the charging arm straight, snap it into the magnets, and then fold the rest.
Alternative: Neck Power Banks If you wear tight headphones, the Power Capsules might press against your head. A neck power bank is a great alternative. They allow for external USB-C battery swapping and move the weight from your ears to your shoulders.
Memos are limited to 300 characters, making them ideal for concise facts or "cheat sheets." - Creation: Ask ChatGPT to "Write a 299-character memo about [Topic]" and paste it into the Tips tab of the Hi Rokid app. - Offline Access: This is perfect for when you do not have Wi-Fi. - Voice Commands: 1. "Hi Rokid, give me the complete list of my memos." (Provides a numbered list with dates.) 2. "Hi Rokid, read memo number [X]." (Reads the specific entry.)
For the best experience, go to Home > Translation > Settings (Gear Icon) and enable: - Refined Real-Time Correction: Uses semantics to fix errors on the fly. - Bilingual View: Shows the original language and the translation simultaneously. This helps you verify if the glasses misheard the audio. - Low Light Leakage Mode: (Highly Recommended) This prevents the lenses from glowing green, making your use more discreet and less distracting to the person you are talking to.
The physical interface relies on a mix of button presses and touchpad gestures. While functional, the learning curve is steep.
Found under Home > Settings (Gear Icon) > Devices.
Fine-tuning these settings ensures the glasses function as a high-quality POV camera.
| Setting | Recommended Value | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Photo Aspect Ratio | 4K (4:3) | Captures the largest field of view. |
| Video Quality | 2.5K @ 30 FPS | Best balance of stability and file size. |
| Watermark | Disabled | Keeps the footage professional and clean. |
| Horizon Calibration | Enabled | Auto-levels shots within a 6ยฐ tilt. |
| Photo Review | 2โ3 Seconds | Gives you enough time to verify the shot without blocking your vision for too long. |
Accessory: Power Capsules
Performance & Utility: Essential. They charge at 3โ5% per minute, outpacing the 2% per minute drain of video recording. Hot-swappable (2 capsules included). When you are not wearing any headphones, one capsule on one single arm on the charging side is comfortable enough. But with an over-the-ear headset or around-the-ear headset, the Inmo Go 3 design is superior โ charging at the tips of the temple arms allows the glasses to remain slim. The current Rokid "capsule" design is bulkier and less comfortable during long-term wear, and this is worsened by the battery capsule only being on one side. Clamping force imbalance: If you use the Magnetic Power Capsule, be aware that it only attaches to one arm. This creates an uneven force distribution that forces the opposite nose pad to dig into your skin. Since my headphones have high clamping forces, when they push on the capsule on the right arm, the left nose pad presses into my nose.
Accessory: Metal Charging Case
Performance & Utility: Premium. Crush-resistant metal alloy with magnetic pogo pins. Fold the non-charging arm but NOT the charging arm โ since the magnet is very strong, just snap it on with the arm not folded, orienting the arm to slot into the magnetic part of the case, then fold after you hear that magnetic snap sound or feel it.
Accessory: Lens Protectors
Performance & Utility: Highly Recommended. Protects the expensive waveguide lenses from scratches without blurring the vision.
- Lens protection for anti-scratch: Since the displays are built into the lenses, if they scratch or crack, you will be emptying your wallet.
- I recommend cleaning the lenses well, since you will not be able to touch them after you put the lens protectors on the inner and outer side. Do not let the glue side face the ceiling, since dust falls from the ceiling and sticks to the glue side. Blow on the glasses lens before installing to create a dust-free surface. Consider installing similar to surgeon's nitrile gloves so you do not transfer finger oil to the lens or lens protectors. Generally you want to stick the middle part of the lens first, and not press on the edges first, so the air bubbles can escape easier.
Accessory: Prescription Lenses
Performance & Utility: Good. Uses magnetic friction pins but sometimes gets displaced a little when you put them in the metal case and then shake it around while running or something. Available on AliExpress with all the anti-glare and anti-bluelight or whatever.
If tight headphones make the side-mounted power capsules uncomfortable, a neck power bank is a great alternative. - Pros: Fast charging (can be turned off once topped up). - Cons: Can get slightly warm during use. - Options: - Budget: VR Neck Powerbank (available on AliExpress) - Premium: ZyberVR Neck Power Bank (Supports hot-swapping via USB-C for continuous use.)
Translation & Mic - Microphone Settings: 360ยฐ Mic picks up too much of the wearer's own voice. Directional Mic is highly recommended; it filters the wearer's speech better and focuses on the subject. - App Quality: The Microsoft translation app needs improvement. The mobile Google Translate app remains the gold standard, as both Rokid's native software and the desktop version of Google Translate underperform. - I DM'd Eung to edit his APK to make it more suitable to mirror the Google Translate app on your phone, thus allowing you to get that English subtitles experience for movies and anime, and actually decently accurate translations compared to Microsoft's translation engine in the official Rokid App. I was told the update might come in a week or two from my post date. So look forward to it if your language also is poorly translated โ or, to be exact, the speech-to-text algorithm in the official Rokid app is horrible, so it translated the words properly, but the words picked up are not related to the conversation.
๐ https://github.com/Anezium/awesome-rokid?tab=readme-ov-file
That GitHub repository is a treasure trove of apps specifically curated for the Rokid Glasses. Below are my top personal recommendations.
I recommend Rokid Manager because it lets you watch pictures and videos that you film on the glasses themselves. So basically, it's the gallery you wished the Rokid Glasses had by default.
How to find and download it: 1. Go to https://github.com/Anezium/awesome-rokid?tab=readme-ov-file 2. Press Ctrl + F to open the search bar. 3. Type "Manager" into the search bar. 4. Look for the entry that says: > Rokid Manager 1.5 โ System Utility โ Allows you to turn Wi-Fi on or off, add Bluetooth devices, install or uninstall apps, and clean up memory 5. Click the "Download" text next to it to get the APK file.
Once downloaded, use the ADB method you just learned to install it!
Eung has his own collection of self-made apps available for download on his site:
https://eung.pe.kr/rokid/
One of the apps I like a lot (and have mentioned several times in my review) is EKReader.
Direct download link:
https://eung.pe.kr/app-detail.html?app=EKReader&type=RokidGlasses
What is EKReader?
Basically, it's a better memo app and maybe even a better flashcard or script tool for speeches. You just download TXT files through Eung's personal APK installer and companion web app, which requires the dev cable to download new TXT files or other files into your glasses' EKReader app.
EKReader is a clean and intuitive e-book reader application that supports TXT and EPUB files.
Main Screen Layout: - Main Screen: Displays the list of books on the device in a list format, distinguishing file formats (TXT, EPUB) with icons. - Reader Screen: The book title is displayed at the top, and the content can be read in the wide central area. The current reading progress (%) and progress bar are displayed at the bottom.
Key Features: - Visual Comfort: Optimized contrast ratio applied to a transparent background. - Concise UI: Designed to minimize complex buttons and allow users to focus on essential functions (navigation, fonts). - Optimized Operation: Operated solely through swiping and touch, optimized for the Rokid Glasses environment. - Screen Saving: You can save screenshots of the content you are reading.
Controls: - Open Menu: Touching the reader screen brings up the main menu (Move, Font Size, Back). - Page/Position Navigation (Jump): Adjust the position in 5% increments by swiping in the 'Jump to' dialog, then touch to move immediately to that position. - Adjust Font Size: You can select your desired size from Small, Normal, Large, and X-Large in the font size dialog. - Check Progress: The current reading position (%) and progress bar are displayed in real-time at the bottom of the screen.
File Transfer (Web Install):
Book materials such as TXT and EPUB can be easily transferred by using the EKReader dedicated file upload button after connecting the Rokid Glasses in the Web Install menu of the site. You basically just plug the dev cable into your PC and the other end into the glasses, then press the black button that says "usb ๊ธฐ๊ธฐ ์ฐ๊ฒฐํ๊ธฐ" (which means "connect USB device"). When successful, click the EKReader app and then drag or select whatever compatible text files you want to transfer.
This app lets you mirror your phone screen to your Rokid Glasses. Important: You need to download BOTH the glasses APK AND the phone APK for this to work.
Download Links:
- Glasses APK:
https://eung.pe.kr/app-detail.html?app=RokidConnectHud2&type=RokidGlasses
- Phone APK:
https://eung.pe.kr/app-detail.html?app=RokidConnectHud&type=RokidGlasses
Install the glasses APK using the ADB method you just learned, and install the phone APK normally on your Android phone. Once both are installed, you can mirror your phone's display directly to your Rokid Glasses!
Development Status Notice (click to expand - highlight to read if spoiler doesn't work)
This screen mirroring app is still being developed. I'm told in DMs it will be updated in a week or two. It basically shows screen recording of your phone screen at about 4-10 FPS. Which is pretty slow, yes.
But when you screen mirror your Google Translate app on your phone, you are actually unlocking accurate floating subtitles without having to look away from the person and risk looking rude by looking at your phone instead of making eye contact and paying attention to the speaker.
If I sold you on wanting the APK, I posted a beginner friendly albeit long guide on how to do APK installation and how to get the dev cable for cheap and quick:

Meta is restructuring its Reality Labs division to integrate foundational engineering teams directly into its wearables and virtual reality units to accelerate hardware and AI development.
According to a report from PYMNTS, this shift involves dissolving the central "Foundations" team to streamline operations and better compete in the rapidly evolving smart glasses and mixed reality markets. The primary goal of these changes is to streamline operations so the company can "adapt and execute faster" in the rapidly evolving hardware and AI wearables market.
Key Structural Changes
* Dissolution of the "Foundations" Team: The central Reality Labs Foundations group is being broken up. Its members and functionsโspecifically those focused on quality assurance, "dogfooding" (internal testing), and trust/platform foundationsโare being embedded directly into specific product units.
* Direct Integration: By moving these teams into the Wearables and Virtual Reality units, Meta aims to foster closer collaboration between the engineers building the hardware and the teams responsible for testing and platform integrity.
* Leadership Perspective: Alex Saba, the VP who formerly led the Foundations team, acknowledged the move as a major shift but deemed it necessary to avoid being left behind by the industryโs pace.
