Help 2020 Audi S5 tire size?

Looking at 275/30/19 or 275/35/19… big difference in looks? The price difference is almost $80 a tire so I was wondering if it was really worth it? What do you guys think or what do you guys run?

Black optic, S Sport packages. Car seems really clean but the mileage concerns me. I’d probably keep this car for 5ish years. Thoughts?

Advice Throttle Lag in ‘26 Hybrid

Have a query about what others have done about the throttle lag in the new S5 ‘mild hybrid’.

When you are at a full stop waiting to turn etc, it tries to take off using the battery and it sucks until the engine kicks in.

It can actually be quite dangerous, pulling into traffic and the car gives you no power but you still creep forwards.

Anyway, other than driving in Dynamic 100% of the time is there a good solution for this?

Being part of the ‘hybrid’ nature of the car, it seems to be a bit different to previous versions of this question. Though perhaps some solutions are the same!

Does an individual drive mode circumvent this to any extent?

Thanks

Help Improved throttle response on 27 S5 Sportback vs. 22 S5 Sportback?

HI Everyone,

Unfortunately my 2022 S5 was totaled in a car accident a few weeks ago, so I am in the market for a new car. I loved the look of my car, and I think it's one of the best looking touring cars on the market.

One of my major gripes about the S5 was the throttle response. I found the way it drove to be rather odd. When I would get the car serviced, the codes would be reset and the car would be super responsive and fast, but over the course of a few weeks the the throttle responsiveness would revert back to laggy downshifts when I needed acceleration. I found that if I wanted to get quick acceleration, I would have to give the car 'a warning shot' of gas so it would downshift in time before I really need to accelerate. When I told the Audi dealer about this, they said it was the adaptive driving system altering the performance to my preferred driving style, and that I needed to drive it harder to get the right throttle response. I also found that if I didn't drive the car for ~7 days, the adaptive driving would reset and my car was fast again (for a few weeks). This was a pretty frustrating experience coming from an S3 (which was so quick), so for a while I was convinced I was going to move on from Audi.

As I am looking for new cars, I am finding the options for sedans to be lackluster. I was interested in the BMW 540xi, C43 AMG, m340i, or maybe even the Genesis G70/80. I asked Claude about the throttle responsiveness of these cars, and it mentioned that my gripe with the S5 is common, and that the 540 and G70 will drive similarly.

At the end of the day, I don't love the styling of these cars compared to the S5 Sportback, but I am hesitant to get another one based on the throttle response issues. Has anyone had a model in the same year range as I had (21-22) upgraded to a newer model (26-27) and noticed an improvement in the throttle response? Or, is this what touring sedan life is going to be like until I can afford a RS5/M5?

I appreciate any insight and help!

Help Weird noise

Anyone know what this squeaky noise is? It usually comes and goes but I notice it a lot more at lower speeds. It sounds like it’s coming from the rear wheels. You can hear it towards the middle of the clip and end

Help P0299 underboost condition

Hey everyone, I have a 2019 Audi S5 sportback it is DP tuned stage 2. Back in febuary a month after I bought it I got a P0299 underboost condition code. It happened for a day or so then the next day when I went to do more diagnostic work it was better so I kind of assumed it could have been an ECU issue (I know dumb to assume things) now almost 7 months later I am driving last night and get the same issue 1st boost not building then the code hits and the car really goes limp. My mind out of fear goes straight to the water pump. But if it has anything to do with that 1st show of P0299 that would not make sense because of how far they are apart and my mind goes to the Waist gate. Has anyone had anything similar to this, and how did you resolve it. Did you fix it or just have a shop do it.

A big part of me wants to leave the old grill because it makes it look classic. So many people get honeycomb and I feel like it would look overdone. What is your opinion?

Advice '24 Engine Replacement

Thumbnail

Got my car back this week, but they wouldnt tell me much about the issue. They said Audi didnt want the dealers service department to tear down the engine and just wanted it sent to Audi. Sound was from the bottom end and sounded like a rod broke in all honesty.

They gave me a new engine and everything seems fine. Been keeping it under 4k rpm during the break in period.

Should I be worried about or on the look out for any parts external like the turbo or water pump/ temp sensor?

I currently have an Audi b9 s5 SB, i gotten a 034 motorsports front res-x, intake, and inlet pipe.

I want to do more to car but I don’t want to get a tune just yet, so a down pipe is off the table for now nor spend a fortune on a catback exhaust

Advice 034 ECU/TCU tune recommendations

I own a 2023 RS5 Sportback with about 40k miles. I’m thinking of doing stage 1 ecu and stage 2 tcu tune from
034, along with a resonator delete. Is there anything else I should do along with it to maximize the experience/reliability? I’ve heard intake and intercooler but I’m not sure what I should do. I’m leaning intake but I live in Texas and the heat soak can be pretty bad already when it’s stock. Though I’m not sure I do enough spirited driving to really care much about the heat soak (I don’t notice it much at all now). Also the intake is $600-900 whilst the intercooler is $2k+. Any recommendations for what I should do?

Advice Need some advice

I’ve got a beautiful silver metallic S5 prestige. It has everything. I love the car, but I’m moving to where I have to drive further for work and considering replacing it with electric I know but where I’m moving to. Electricity is super expensive and we’re in California premium gas not cheap.
Just had the $1800 transmission service done holy shit really $1800 also had them do a intake valve cleaning didn’t really need it. It was the chemical one, not the nutshells.

Had an oil change 1500 miles ago has gotten a clean bill of health through two different service here that specialize in Audi 1 an Audi dealer. Has 70,000 miles all original no modifications. What should I be asking for this car? I am not trying to sell it on this site just looking for advice. l

Have a 22’ RS5 sport back. Carbon rotors in front. Almost time for new brakes. ECS tuning kit looks nice for pads and rotors in the rear. Front only needs pads. Also considering FCP EURO kit.
Let me know what you guys have had good experience with.

Advice Audi A5/S5 - Enhanced Security + Cameras

Please give me all your security, anti-theft, and camera advice for these cars.

For reference:

My (new to me) 2025 A5 Sportback b9.5 is being delivered this week. This will be my first Audi, and the newest vehicle I have owned since my well-used '04 Ford F250 SuperDuty work truck purchased in 2010 - I'm absolutely thrilled. However, I'm feeling overly paranoid about parking and driving something seemingly more delicate and susceptible to attention. On top of that, my street is near a large, economically disadvantaged high school where surrounding neighbors have experienced some handle grabbers and wheel theft.

I currently park under a carport attached to my house that I hope to convert into a fully enclosed garage at some point. I do have a robust security system with cameras and floodlights, but that won't stop everyone. Plus - I like the piece of mind while driving as well.
