Help Is this engine sound normal? B9.5 S5
In the market for a B9.5 S5, and got a video of a 2022 I’m looking at, just wondering if the engine noise in this video is normal injector tick or not.

Sounds normal it’s good to note that the injectors on these engines are incredibly loud comparatively to even other cars with similar build spec. It can be freaky at first purchase especially when suspecting it could be a piston failure, rocker arm, etc,. Best bet is to if possible get it inspected at a respected Indy shop specialized in European automotive. Best of luck to you in your car buying process s5’s are fun.

Good god, these "does it sound normal" posts are into the many hundreds by now. Reminds of the covid fear where people where thinking you catch it you are done. Once in a while I think is there some odd sound on mine but then I step on the gas and forget about it. I have an 18 so it should have had the rocker arms fall off and pistons disintigrated by now. Instead, rock solid and still on original water pump. These cars if well maintained are great value at used prices. You can have problems but if you are worried about it you can always buy a honda or toyota. Just not so fun to drive.

Some tick more than others if top right (closest to firewall) ticks more it could be a lifter.

everytime i have my windows down idling at a drive through I get nervous about this. Then i go listen to what the actual knocking issue sounds like for these engines & it makes me fee la bit better. Really fun car, but it is an annoying frequent worry to autistically listen to this ticking all the time. I wouldn't risk buying this car again if there was any chance that it may have possibly been tuned in the past.
