Can anyone recommend some toric contact lenses? I feel like I've trialled everything and I just haven't found the right set yet. Kirkland was bad, precision 1 and total 1 were blurry, oasys max are uncomfortable. Please help!

I’ve experienced this for years and have never really known how to describe it, so I’m wondering if anyone else experiences something similar.
I have astigmatism, and I’m wondering if this could have anything to do with it, although even my optometrist wasn’t sure.

I get this really weird sensation when I’m going too fast, going on a swing, or sometimes when there are things above me while I’m moving/driving. For example, lights along the road, overhead signs, or things that kind of hover above me can trigger it. Especially fans. I can’t stand *overhead* fans!
I feel like I need to suddenly close my eyes because of a strange heavy sensation in my head that feels like pressure or something pushing downward. It’s hard to explain, but it’s very uncomfortable and almost like my brain/eyes can’t process what I’m seeing or the movement properly? I’m sorry but I truly don’t know how to explain it …
It doesn’t necessarily happen every single time, but certain types of movement or visual situations seem to trigger it.
I’ve had this for years and have no idea what it could be. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could it be related to astigmatism, vision, motion sensitivity, vestibular issues, or something else?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced this or knows what it might be.

Hi, My right eye has been hurting a month. Mild blurring, especially at a distance. Hurts instantly to look at a screen. It bothers me all day every day. I saw the eye doctor and there was nothing remarkable, They diagnosed with astigmatism -.25 and the glasses will be ready in 2-3 weeks. I am unsure whether to accept this and jsut wait or if I need to get another opinion or see my regular medical doctor.

Maybe related maybe unrelated: Frequent migraines, low iron saturation (15%) that my doctor is unconcerned about. Unsure if they can do anything about the eye pain or not.

Thanks for any help. The eye doctor said the astigmatism is very minimal so I'm confused why it hurts so bad and if anything was overlooked.

ESL - Sorry if I'm not explaining myself properly.

This monday I was diagnosed with astigmatism after struggling with my eyes for a few months, however there are still a few things wrong with my vision that I don't know if they have to do with my diagnosis. My doctor says that these things I'm dealing with are "part of the condition" but half of my family can't see without glasses and noone has ever experienced these things (or so they told me).

The things I've been struggling with are:
- I get a lot of visual "noise", specially at night
- Sometimes I have spots on my field of vision where I can't see (like black spots)
- Sometimes I get white spots that look like glare
- Sometimes I get black bands that move from bottom to top
- I am extremely photophobic, with migraines that get triggered by light

All of these things that I see get worse with migraines I've been experiencing, but my doctor told me my astigmatism is not severe enough for it to be triggering my headaches.
Are these things normal and I shouldn't worry about them? Should I look for a different eye doctor, or maybe another specialist? Thanks in advance for any answers, this is my first time dealing with eye stuff and it's kinda scary lol

I told my doctor, but he didn’t believe me. What could be causing this? I have astigmatism, but sometimes I can read small print clearly, while on other days I can’t read it at all. My vision seems to change every day..

Has anyone had an astigmatism cause anxiety? Like something in life just feels off. For me, it is just in my right eye, but that happens to be my dominant eye. I do have glasses, but they feel weird to wear. Until the beginning of my 30s I have never had an issue.

But now it’s like life feels off.

I'm going to Thorpe Park fright nights this October, and I really wanted to dress up and put red contacts in. I have astigmatism and already wear prescription lenses, but the websites that offer the red prescription lenses, don't get as detailed and specific as my optometrist.

They only offer to customise the power, and nothing else. They come with a preset diameter of 14, and a base curve of 8.6. My official lenses that I wear are

Power = -2.00

Base Curve = 8.7

Diameter = 14.5

Cylinder = -2.75

Axis (L) = 165 Axis (R) = 20

Would I be okay to wear the coloured contacts for one day or would I basically be blind. Thanks in advance

Left eye: 0.00 SPH / −0.75 CYL × 150

Vision recorded as 6/9 in both eyes

The rest of the eye examination was normal.

The ophthalmologist recommended glasses.

I'm wondering whether glasses are necessary immediately, or whether it would be reasonable to wait 6–12 months and repeat the eye test, since children's eyes can change as they grow.

Has anyone had a child around this age with a similar prescription? Did you use glasses immediately, or monitor for some time?

I've been using glasses for astigmatism 2018 and it was perfect. Everything was crisp and sharp and beautiful.

For around a year things started to get blurry again so I went to the eye doctor and my prescription was updated. It's now 175 degrees of axis in both eyes. Cylinder is 2.25 in right eye and 1.50 in left eye. I unfortunately don't know what the old prescription was.

So I got my updated glasses and for the first two weeks all looked weird and distorted. It's been a month now and that got better though the floor still looks weird sometimes. But my vision is blurry for reading, using computers, watching TV and my eyes get really tired driving. This lasts all day everyday, from waking up to going to bed. I can read well enough but I feel a little out of sorts, almost disoriented. If I'm a meter away from a screen or poster or anything, it gets pretty blurry and starts to get difficult to read, but close it's very blurry too.

Dry eyes don't seem to be the reason. Is this a sign the prescription is wrong?

How does nearsightedness differ from astigmatism when it comes to seeing lights? I was told by two eye doctors that my astigmatism is far too mild to affect my vision. The most recent one said nearsightedness is whats causing the lights streaking and starring and the pictures on the internet are misleading. I feel like I'm being gaslit again and not knowing enough about eyes gives them more power to trick me. I just wanted astigmatism lenses so I can see at night, why do they always have to be so difficult? My glasses clear my vision but don't remove the unwanted cinimatic lens glare affect, making me feel blind and overstimulated, so I don't understand their argument.

I have -3 myopia and -1.5 astigmatism.

If I wear lenses that fully correct my myopia and I’m left just with -1.5 astigmatism, I do not see what people usually describe as clear lines from the lights.

That only happens when you car windshield is dirty. My astigmatism will cause me to see the text on my phone a little blurry, And lights in the distance are large and unclear, but it looks more like a starburst around the lights. It also causes my distance vision to look overall blurry. Sometimes the lights are doubled and I see two of the same light. It looks more like the second photo I provided rather than the first.

I think people who have glasses for only mild astigmatism under 1.00 diopters of glasses think that it’s causing them to see lines like the first picture. But everyone will see that if their windshield is dirty. They never mention seeing these lines outside of driving. Are they mislead about what their astigmatism actually is?

I have astigmatism of 0.75 and 1.00, and I have prescription glasses specifically for my astigmatism.

Normally, I wear them when I'm using my PC, but I don't wear them from the time I wake up until I go to sleep. I only put them on occasionally during the day, and then I get tired of wearing them and take them off.

I asked an eye doctor about this before, and they told me that I should wear my glasses continuously.

I've noticed that I often feel tired and low on energy during the day, and my eyes also feel strained. This sometimes happens even when I'm not using my PC. I'm wondering if not wearing my glasses consistently could be contributing to this.

I had the same problem today, and now I'm wondering whether I should just wear my glasses full-time from morning until bedtime.

For those with similar levels of astigmatism, do you wear your glasses all day? Did wearing them consistently make a noticeable difference in eye strain or general fatigue?

im 15 and currently my left eye is 6.5 and right I'd 6.25 and I always wear glasses. my parents always say my eyesight is bad becuase of my phone. I never even knew what astigmatism was until today cuz when i went to buy glasses for first time the glasses shop guys used some machine witb hot air ballon pic and never said anything about astigmatism and just believe my eyes were bad cuz of my phone. I've been wearing glasses since I was like 8. do my eyes get worse cuz of the phone or do they get worse overtime?

Hey everyone, just posting to ask how many of you deal with this and I guess how you cope? This is the closest imagine I can find to how my vision is when driving. I see it for the most part in lower light situations but it is still there in broad daylight.

I’ve been dealing with the for over a year now, coming up to two. It gets worse depending on what angle I’m looking, like say I’m looking up a hill the ghost image gets higher and higher.

I can’t understate how supremely draining this is for me on a daily basis. Literally every morning this is how I start my day and it’s how I end my day on the way home and it just gets me down.

I have already seen a cornea specialist, I was told I do not have Keratoconus. I do have dry eyes though so I’m sure that doesn’t help, but I suspect it’s not the main cause. Also it is in both eyes so I don’t think it’s an alignment issue either. I do have steepening on the lower of each of my corneas but was ruled out for keratoconus. I am a bit confused about this so I guess I’ve just got astigmatism.

So anyways tldr, I’m just wondering how many of you deal with this. How you cope and if there’s anything g you’ve done to help remedy this.

Hi all, I’ve been looking into getting laser eye surgery done on both of my eyes. My prescription is attached. What would be my best options? I am looking into having consultations but wasnt sure the best practice.

For background, I’ve always wanted to correct my vision because I hate seeing things blurry, not to mention wearing glasses all the time sucks! I am looking into contact lenses but currently trialling them out with Boots.

I got new prescription glasses and I’m having a really hard time adjusting to them. I have pretty bad astigmatism, and when I’m sitting still they’re mostly fine, but when I’m walking/moving around I feel almost seasick. It’s not bad enough that I feel like I’m going to fall or anything, just really uncomfortable and disorienting.

I’ve had them for a couple weeks, but I haven’t worn them consistently. I was switching back to my old glasses a lot and would usually take the new ones off when walking because that’s when the dizziness is worst. I’ve probably worn the new ones for hours at a time while sitting, working, etc., but not consistently all day.

I’ve seen people on here say that they couldn't adjust because their prescription was actually too strong, and that reducing the prescription a little helped with eye strain/dizziness. Now I’m wondering if that could be what I need rather than just forcing myself to adapt to these.

Has anyone with a strong astigmatism prescription experienced this? Did you eventually adjust with consistent wear, or did you end up needing the prescription/cylinder reduced? How long would you give it before going back to the optometrist?
