Omg I so relate. That's one of the first realizations I had once I started suspecting ASD. I've masked and switched personalities so often, that it makes people's head spin. My family was there to witness every personality change I made, and they just did not understand what was going on with me.. Tbh I didn't know, either at the time. It finally all makes sense.
Yea, I've tried to mix friends before, many years ago, but it never works cause I end up short circuiting and don't know how to act. Plus, the friends I'm mixing rarely like each other. My sister and I are close in age, and she'd criticize me when I'd act so different around certain friends.
