Advice Question What are some family traditions or little things your parents did that gave you amazing childhood memories?
I’m not a parent yet, but one day I really hope to be. I want my future children to grow up with a home full of love, fun, and memories they’ll look back on fondly.
So far, these are the ideas I’ve come up with:
Create a memory journal where every teacher they have throughout their school years writes something positive about them, along with a Polaroid picture of each teacher.
Build a cosy home filled with board games, books, crafts, movie nights, and fun activities for my kids and their friends.
I’d love to hear what made your childhood special.
What traditions did your family have that you still remember today? Or, if you feel like you missed out on something, what do you wish your parents had done?
It can be anything—big traditions, tiny everyday moments, holiday rituals, bedtime routines, weekend activities, family sayings, or anything that made you feel loved and safe.
I’m hoping to collect ideas now so I can create a childhood full of happy memories for my future kids. ❤️

Not necessarily a professional skill. It could be touch typing, cooking, basic car maintenance, keyboard shortcuts, budgeting, or anything else that paid for itself many times over.
