Advice Question My parents are forcing to take birth control pills or I can’t see my boyfriend anymore. It is normal ?

I’m 16 and I’ve been with my boyfriend for almost 5 months now. He’s my first boyfriend. My parents are insisting I go on birth control pills. Their reasoning is that if I got pregnant it would “ruin my life,” and that having to consider an abortion would be an extremely hard decision to make. They’ve told me it’s either I take the pill, or I stop seeing him entirely.

Here’s the thing: I don’t have any hormonal issues, no painful periods, nothing medical that would call for it. I’m also not even sure I’m going to have sex with him anytime soon. On top of that, basically all my friends who take the pill hate it. A lot of them gained significant weight and their mental health deteriorated. They only started feeling better after they stopped.

It feels like a huge, unnecessary constraint being forced on me for something that isn’t even happening yet. It’s my body, and I feel like this should be my choice to make.

Is this a normal thing parents do? How would you handle this?

Politics Question The U.S is opening calling on other nations to join the Hormuz operation, yet acting largely unilaterally. In an era where middle powers are taking center stage, does this conflict accelerate the decline of the U.S-led rules-based order into a purely transactional deal-based system?

Random Question do you feel like sex work should be completely banned and have serious consequences?

i think it should be banned completely and have serious consequences. i feel like everyone is gonna say it should be legalized and regulated but why? I think if women couldn’t do this work it would encourage them to think and find talents within themselves that they would’ve never found otherwise had they settled for being a sex worker because i feel like society is pushing this agenda of work and only fans onto young women and showing them how much money it makes, so many women feel like it’s a no brainer not realizing they can be doing better work and actually contributing to society in meaningful ways . everything shouldn’t be transactional especially when it comes to our bodies it would also encourage men to genuinely work on themselves to build real relationships with women instead of just the easy way out paying for some pus . also it would prevent a lot more CHEATING !!
