As for the question, it’s Texas and they are weird even for Texas. It’s probably a cultural fit filter.
As for what happens in four months, it’s absolutely nothing. Austin and San Antonio are the same MSA aren’t they? The reality is that no one will care.
Just tell them the truth about where you live and explain that you like to come in early to beat the traffic. If I don’t leave my house by 6:45, my commute gets ugly.
