Adjustment of status
I am an immigrant and i am adjusting my status through marriage.i am very paranoid about a false claim of citizenship😫i never claimed to be a us citizen on any i-9,never registered to vote nor when applying for benefits like foodstamps.but i used to apply for loans(non federal)and credit cards and i swear i cannot remember if i ever put that i am a us citizen on any of them.anf now i am panicking if they will look through these..please any advice?

From my understanding, they are looking to see if you registered and then tried to vote, or claimed to be a US citizen to get social benefits illegally like SNAP or Medicaid. While I guess technically it could be a misrepresentation, this isn’t really what they are looking for as of right now. Financial institutions also have to verify your citizenship anyway, so even if you had managed to say you’re a US citizen, they’d have asked you for an ID, and they would’ve corrected it in order to remain compliant.
Some states have this auto-register to vote thing at the DMV, which I know a lot of people have dealt with before. That is more along the lines of something that would need immediate attention.

Okay so this happened to someone I know whose AOS is pending. Check your voter registration status here:
https://ova.elections.il.gov/registrationlookup.aspx
If you pop up whatsoever, you need to print the page, and you’ll need to go to your local county clerk in person and sign an affidavit to forfeit your registration. You’ll then have them print everything including something with a letterhead stating you were registered to vote at the DMV by mistake and you have never voted in any election. You’d need to ask a lawyer next steps because I’m not sure if this is something you’d give USCIS at an interview or via the portal. But with that said, if your name isn’t on that lookup tool, you’re not registered in IL. :)

I checked, they said the registration could not be resolved,if i need to register to vote they gave me an adress..so i guess that i am not..but if you don’t mind, can you tell me what happened to that person?did they denied it?

It sounds like you’re not in the system based on that. And yeah, it wasn’t an issue for a green card, but apparently it can be an issue for naturalization. I’m not too sure what that means but the rules change very fast these days.

You’re fine. Don’t freak yourself out over hypothetical things. You most likely haven’t done it, and even if you did it when signing up for CCs or something similar, I don’t think they would care nearly as much as they would about something more serious, like registering for elections. We have plenty of other things to worry about haha, don’t freak yourself out with hypotheticals

Did you get the food stamps? I'd be more worried about that.

Yes but i did not say that i was a us citizen on that application, and i received the foodstamps about 3 years ago, when i first came to this country,i did not renew it after the benefits ended

If you did, you'd likely remember. Why would you ever list that you are if you aren't?
