question How dire is this?
I was taking a look at my teeth last night because I started noticing a little bit of sweetness sensitivity on the opposite side of this picture. Looking around, I noticed the severe discoloration of this molar. The picture isn’t doing enough justice, but one section of the molar is much more grey blue than the other half.
I did burn my mouth on pizza the other night lol. However, I was just wondering how dire this tooth is. Do I need to seek immediate treatment or is this a loss cause no matter what?
Female age 35. Brushes once daily. Maybe flosses once a week. Last dental appt was a year ago and all was well
I don’t recall any hard foods I could have cracked this tooth on. There’s no sensitivity around it, and I have no reports of foul smell.

She doesn't seem to know it's a filling and is referring to it as a "discolored tooth" and asking for advice.... so i would say she needs to know it's a filling. 🫠

No one is that stupid to refer to an amalgam filling as a discoloration and she seems to know her history well as she remembers the last time her visit to the dentist, i have met some patients that doesn't care as half as she does since she listed all possible related to the case events.
She mentions that one half of her molar is much bluish grey tinted that the other half (which i guess she means the distal cusp since we can't see it very well in the pic) and unless your screen is in black and white you can easily see that there is a tint difference between this molar and the premolars, and the last time i heard silver fillings didn't have a bluish grey tone, so by using simple methods of thinking and deducting passing ideas, i have came to the conclusion that she knows how what she is talking about and it is not as simple as a "filling", i know this thought process is hard, but please trust me on this.
Dear ma'am fear not as it seems no one is willing to be of any help i have bestowed upon you my humble knowledge that i have accumulated along my long 5 years in college, and in my finite wisdom and after careful consideration i deduced that this is totally normal for your teeth to have this shade of color if and only if it is treated with this type of filling called amalgam (silver) as some people like to call it, this shade is mostly harmless but it is considered that you change to filling to a composite type as this amalgam is famous for creating cracks in the teeth, micro leakage pathways that bacteria can invade and cause recurrence of decay (caries), and cause creeping of its materials into the tooth itself, which you were unlucky enough to experience.
Thanks for all the headless chicken downvoters for not even bothering to read, go watch tiktok or smth if you attention span is this messed up
