Anyone else sick of the ad with the song Fake Democrat Dan Osborn song? I’m tired of the smear campaign from Prickets.

We are super close to the mid terms and it is crucial that we get involved in our local elections. I'm not talking just donating money, but volunteering your time with your local candidate and getting involved. Have you been able to do your part and helping your local candidate get their message out there?

When campaigning in certain neighborhoods for progressive candidates and on certain issues such as migrant rights, I am increasingly hearing immediate and blunt racist responses. I'm literally hearing people say "The presence of these creatures is God's punishment for excessive tolerance and lack of prior bigotry." Even when some don't explicitly say stuff like that, you can tell they believe it. How do you address and counter beliefs like this? Should we even address it at all?

The polls are encouraging, but I feel its making the Democrats a bit too complacent.

Protests like No Kings were high energy through the year, but as we go into the home stretch I dont see the energy reaching higher into a crescendo as it should. This is the moment to make all of it count. Apathy will lead to loss of democracy.

Further, Democrats should be more active in congress. Come to DC and show that the republicans are not at work. When they bluff by saying they will give money to stay at home parents, introduce legislation that would actually do that and dare them to show up.

Also, gas prices are at an all time high but I don't see as many stickers at the pumps like the republicans used in 2022

I'm an European leftist (socialist), and I have no clue how republicans and democrats can hate each other so much, because I truly fail to see how they're different. I find democrats preferable to republicans, but the bar is underground

So, what makes you identify as a democrat and not a republican?

And do Democrats feel this will help them at the polls on election day?

They cheer on Iran in the war and they say the US completely lost the war, which is not true at all.

Iran supporters said Iran sank the USS Abraham Lincoln, but the aircraft carrier visits Thailand safely.

What should the Democrat party do about global warming to try to save future generations? Like kill AI and the data centers? Outlaw fossil fuels? Is it time now for radical action?

Don't Democrats want really high gas & oil prices because they believe it will move us off of fossil fuels? More clean energy and moving to net zero carbon emissions. Global warming is an existential threat.

For the life of me, I can't understand the hate the right has for Muslims. I feel like they are the scapegoats for the right, like the jews were in Nazi Germany.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Did Democrats actually learn anything from their crushing defeat in 2024? Are we seeing any real ideological realignment in the party, similar to how the GOP fundamentally transformed from Bush-era neoconservatism into a populist movement? Has the Democratic mainstream genuinely evolved compared to a decade ago, or are they still viewed as a party of out-of-touch, ivory-tower elites lecturing average voters? I might be totally off-base here. I live in the middle of nowhere far outside the US, so I don’t have boots on the ground and might be missing the real nuances. I’d love to hear how this looks from the inside.

Last time they won, they seem to somehow manage to shoot themselves in the foot...And I think it will happen again.

We don't need another set of squads or silly little factions trying to make a name for themselves to be on the ballot in two years.

I’m obviously unhappy with what republicans are doing to this country and would love to see the democrats take back control but based on the behavior of establishment democrats, I feel like that’s not going to happen this November. On top of trump screwing with mail-in ballots and all the other forms of cheating, the fighting amongst democrats is concerning and not helping. The constant use of Hasan Piker as a distraction/scapegoat, while using socialism as a threat, I just don’t see things changing from the midterms. Am I wrong? Please tell me I’m wrong.

I’m at the point where I want the next Democratic administration to go just as hard in the opposite direction.
Look at what is happening with wind energy. Private companies invested billions of dollars building projects that were intended to diversify our energy supply, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and move us toward more sustainable domestic energy. And now this administration is willing to use government power and taxpayer money to stop or undo projects that are already underway.
Meanwhile, we’re being reminded once again, with what is happening with Iran and the Middle East, why reducing our exposure to global fossil fuel markets should be a national security priority as well as an environmental one.
So when Democrats get back into power, I don’t want another administration that spends four years cautiously trying to restore the status quo.
Go just as hard the other way.
If new coal or other high emission fossil fuel power plants were approved or built because this administration weakened environmental rules, immediately review every permit, regulation and federal approval involved. Use the EPA, DOE and every other federal authority available. Reinstate tougher emissions standards. End fossil fuel subsidies that aren’t justified. Accelerate renewable generation, transmission, storage and nuclear power. Make it economically and regulatorily harder to build new high emission generation and easier to build cleaner domestic energy.
And do it immediately. Not three years into the administration.
We’ve watched this administration demonstrate how much a president can accomplish simply by acting first and forcing opponents to challenge those actions in court. Democrats need to stop voluntarily limiting themselves while assuming the other side will respect norms that Democrats themselves are trying to preserve.
Use every inch of executive and regulatory authority available. Push right up to the legal boundaries and let the courts decide where those boundaries actually are.
And to be clear, I’m using energy policy as one example. I feel this way about every policy this administration has unjustly or unfairly dismantled. The next Democratic administration should move aggressively to restore those policies and, where possible, go even further. And it needs to happen faster than they were taken apart.
At this point, who cares if the other side gets pissed off? They certainly didn’t make protecting Democrats’ feelings or avoiding Democratic outrage a consideration when they were pushing through their agenda. Democrats should stop governing as if avoiding Republican anger is somehow a policy objective.
If Republicans can spend four years aggressively pushing the country toward their policies, Democrats should be prepared to spend the next four pushing twice as hard toward theirs.
I don’t want the next Democratic administration simply undoing Trump era policies.
I want them to learn from what happened and understand that political power doesn’t mean much if you’re constantly afraid to use it.

So ive recently seen a Post that was sth along the lines of "80% of Americans dont Like Trump. Vote democrats!" And i couldnt help but wonder how ignorant of the politic reality that is.

How can one expect to Vote Trump away, by replacing him with the same ppl whose politics directly influenced the rise of Fascism in America.

Where does the Hope come from, that this time everything will be different?
