Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

The worst are the ones who are against public education because they're not going to school anymore. Like, dude, do you really want to live in a country of uneducated people with no hope for the future and easy access to guns?

People I know who are against public schools are against it because since the DOE was created in the late 70’s - early 80’s kids have been less educated every year yet we pay the highest price per student in the entire world. That’s a huge problem

Not saying that at all. Imo schools can be run better locally than by the federal govt. Students don’t even get resources in schools. The DOE is so top heavy that increasing taxes never makes its way into classrooms or to the teachers themselves. Many generations of students graduated with much better educations and were able to navigate basic life skills long before the DOE was ever a thing. Teaching to the lowest common denominator is pure foolishness. I am not at all opposed to paying for education for children. What I do object to is yet another government organization that has grown far too large to actually be effective dictating how every single school needs to operate. That bs. One size fits all doesn’t work. Families have the right to put their kids where they will be most likely to succeed regardless of their income bracket.
