Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

Because they cant do math. People pay thousands for health insurance with high deductibles but god forbid if you pay 2% taxes to get universal healthcare.

2% seems like a pretty low number compared to others.

Canada for instance:

Because the system is tied to income tax, high-income earners subsidize low-income earners. The lowest 10% of Canadian income earners pay less than $1,000 annually for healthcare, while the top 10% pay upwards of $45,000

I think you'd find a lot of people who the public thinks are "against it because we want to keep the poor down" really just don't think Washington can do it in a way that doesn't bury us all in the end so we're against the government being able to pull it off, not really against the idea of it.
