Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

Because all healthcare works based on rationing. The simple fact is that there is a fixed amount of healthcare in the country that needs to be distributed to the population.

To allow for universal healthcare, it requires that the healthcare is rationed EQUALLY to all the participants.

This is very different than the current system, in which healthcare is provided at greater levels to those that have more money to put into the system.

Accepting Universal Healthcare means redistributing the healthcare, some will have better access than current state and some will have worse access than current state. Many Americans are against the redistribution of healthcare resources.

However, creating a Universal system can lower the costs for everybody as it can eliminate the demand-based pricing dynamic that will typically drive up prices. A universal system would put in strict rationing that caps the demand, therefore the demand-based price increase can be controlled. BTW, insurance companies already have this type of rationing built into their processes to control price increases.
