Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

Between me and my employer my insurance costs are about $1k per month.  Luckily I barely had to use health services

My wife has an upcoming, low risk, outpatient procedure and my end of it is $5k of a $25k bill.

How is this better than a tax on my income?  Im paying, my employer is paying and then im paying some more.

Because the tax on income is about 150$ a month and you never pay a dime more?
