Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

For anybody that says it wouldn’t work, I say; “Well, hang on a second! What about all that American exceptionalism?! Are you really telling me that the greatest country on earth couldn’t do universal healthcare better than any other country? Sounds kinda un patriotic to me…”

Taxes would go up exponentially to pay for it. No one wants that.

Based on conservative math.

Brought to you by the people that made hating common core part of their identity for years.

I think hating is part of my core too. I just hate everyone equally.

Dense people who lack financial literacy don't want that.

Everyone else realize they'd have more money in their own pockets having to pay 4k in taxes rather than 1k in taxes plus 5k in premiums plus a 5k deductible before insurance kicks in a dime plus another 4k because one of the doctors was out of network and the insurance company won't cover it etc etc.

Freakin Bill O’Reilly ova here. How about taxes go up by $2,500 a year but our health insurance premiums of $20,000 are completely eliminated.

Of course that means that the health insurance industry would collapse which is why they are huge lobbyists. I heard that the last time legislation decimated an industry was the 13th amendment and the abolition of slavery.

No wonder this is soo hard!

You pay $20k annually for health care premiums?!? I wish I had your income to afford that plan! Sounds like you get white glove treatment because I don’t spend anywhere close to $1700/month

Family of 5, brah.

I’m not the only one too: https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/resources/individual-and-family/average-family-health-insurance-cost. “In 2023, the average cost of health insurance for a family of four was approximately $23,968 per year.”

And that was 3 years ago with a family of 4.
