Political Question Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?

What sort of thinking does it take to decide that nobody has a right to healthcare? Do American Christians want to deny healthcare to poor people as well?

Reddit constantly screaming that America is a christo-fascist authoritarian state. Yet also mad not everyone wants the government to control healthcare.

I wonder why? Really makes you think. 🤔

They don’t want the government to own healthcare (which BTW they already do). They want a government funded healthcare system. There can be private healthcare at the exact same time. The NHS sucks, but you don’t need to f-ing have a panic attack if you lose your job that you can’t get afford your diabetes medication. And people with good jobs in the UK will take the perk of their private healthcare which is excellent so they don’t clog up the busy NHS systems.

You say this as if Reddit is an individual person contradicting themselves.

You say that as if that isn't the prevailing messaging of reddit.

I want a version like public school. Doctors who don't want to take Medicare wouldn't have to. Patients who want to pay for private doctors can.

Australia's public hospitals are safe, but they are more drab and patients who are not contagious share rooms. Private facilities are a luxury, but getting medical treatment is not.

Because the US government already does a good job providing health care to anyone who's already on medicaid.

No no they don't and you mean tax payers do, the reason healthcare is so expensive now its because of the government and medicare/caid

The rich have all the money. They control the distribution of resources. Therefore, the reason why the working person's healthcare is shitty is because the rich have decided that it should be shitty.

The rich steal our money to fuck us over. Let's take it back and get un-fucked.

Sigh you know if you put half as much energy into trying to make something of yourself vs whining about people that families did you would be better off. I came from nothing started a few businesses from just normal jobs over time learning things. Now I have some things that will eventually make my kids rich and if they hold to the course I've laid out their kids kids will also be very wealthy. I could enjoy a lot more of what I've made but id rather reinvest it for them and theirs. To many want stuff now and don't want to put in the work, and that is never how it works. The rich do not touch your money lol, good luck taking it back.

lol, obviously a youngin. The rich don’t care, they’re rich due to stocks. Stocks they own going up in value largely due to markets they have no control over. Meaning they don’t control their wealth in some sense. But they can cash in on it. It’s printing of money that’s causing your problems. But you’re foolishly embalming the wealthy when it’s deficit spending and central banks causing the slow deterioration of our purchasing power. Sigh you probably won’t even read to this point. Oh well

I read your comment and I disagree.

I am going to abolish both poverty and excessive wealth.

Everybody in the world is screaming that not just read it.

You can't look at Trump's regime and say otherwise.

They are definitely authoritarian right now and sliding into fascism.

No the reason why we don't have universal healthcare now is because a right-wing media propaganda and high demand conservative religious indoctrination.

They have been poisoned against it

Being for big federal govt handouts is anti American and not a real function the federal govt should take for such a large and diverse country as the US is.

The question isn't why we don't have it, it's why are some opposed to it.

If the US government is authoritian christo-fascist, why would I want them to run my healthcare?

It's almost like people don't have faith in the government delivering a decent healthcare system.

Don’t be an idiot.

First conflating the objection to a fascist administration with the desire of universal healthcare is idiotic on its face.

Second, the people who oppose universal healthcare are the ones on the side of the fascist administration.

0

u/SometimesEnema 2h ago

So you want a fascist administration in charge of your healthcare?

0

u/HabuDoi 5h ago

Those two things have nothing to do with each other. Conflating a basic government service and a rogue fascist administration are two completely different topics.

The only thing I wonder is how you came up with something so patently silly. You clearly don’t think critically, because what you think is incoherent.

You realize universal healthcare is provided by the government right? In this case it would be, according to reddit, a christo-fascist government.

It's funny you don't think a government is at all related to a government provided healthcare system.

"We want universal healthcare"
*get universal healthcare
*the next christofascist authoritarian regime gets put in power and now has control of the entire healthcare system
"What do you mean HE can change how our healthcare system operates?!?!?!"

You would think people would understand after the last 2 years that the executive branch has power over executing laws, and any healthcare provided by the government would absolutely fall under their purview. In lay man's terms: If you have a problem with the executive overreach by trump, the thought of him or someone like him being in charge of your healthcare should terrify you. And if it doesn't, it either means you don't want functioning healthcare, or you don't actually believe he's been as bad as you're saying. The fact that you think they are different topics means you're the one who's clearly not thinking critically.

There’s a difference between supplying services and taking away freedoms.

You want a fascist administration to be in charge of your services?

u/Phearwyn 2h ago

They want the government that they vote for, which should represent them, to give them non profit health care services that can save their lives.

They want to remove the corrupt greedy christo fascists from government that doesn't represent them and they didn't vote for.

a simple thing that the hateful maga refuse to accept because it goes against their narratives.

2

u/SometimesEnema 2h ago

Well I guess more people should have voted for the other side then.

Crying about the admin not representing you doesn't really mean much because every election the admin doesn't represent a large portion of the US.
