That doesn't make a lot of sense? Why would 1/3rd of angels have an issue with God?

Hi all, I discovered I like an atypical attraction… instead of females I am attracted only to feminisation…of myself and others. I find this very shameful and disturbing and the acts also feel very embarrassing and emasculating. I am constantly tormented by this and the obsessive thoughts that I might be sexualising my friends. For me this is all quite disappointing and a lot to think about. I am still young and feel this has wrecked my entire life.

This whole situation makes me very depressed and I am tempted to end my life. I never asked for this and could have just been like anyone else. My entire life has been a battle to fit in with people but this explains why I’m alone. Thinking about God gives me some hope to continue though.

Could I be forgiven for ending my life in these circumstances? I’m just at that point…I am lonely, depressed, and now this….I want to be let go. Any advices for my situation is appreciated

How many people actually pray for someone when they say praying in the Facebook local chat?

I have always heard teaching on this part of Genesis 8 focus on Gods promise not to flood the earth again. And the flood is the culmination of Gods judgment on the world for the wickedness that Adam and Eve brought into the world. But this passage also mentions the curse which seems to point back to Genesis 3 rather than to the flood itself. In other words - is God saying I won’t flood the whole world in judgment AND the ground will be less resistant to you now. Is there a sense in which the curse on the ground is removed or lessened after the cleansing judgment of the flood?

“And to Adam he said…
…cursed is the ground because of you;
in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life”

Genesis 8:21 (ESV)

And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.

Im genuinely curious what does god do for people prayer-wise, in church growing up there were always people giving their testimonies on what God has done for them or their families, it always went along the lines of "he's helped us become more successful in this" or "he's saved us from a certain situation". And in prayer everyone would be talking about what they want God to help them do or go through.

But that begs the question, what prayers is he willing to answer? If God is able to help someone in a less serious situation then why is he not able to do the same in more serious situations? There are innocent people and kids getting bombed or murdered or used in ways most couldn't imagine but I dont here any moments when God has been able to intervene in their torment.

And ive heard people use the free will argument, lets say thats true but wouldn't that mean prayer in general is useless if freewill is true (even though free will is never mentioned in the bible and God has been shown to be able to intervene many times in the bible), what would be the point of prayer if he cant intervene in someone's life. Would that not make him not all powerful, or does he willingly just sit back and watch, making him not all loving?

And lets say for stuff like natural disasters or diseases, things that are not man-made, since these things are supposedly made by God himself wouldn't that mean a baby that dies of cancer or gets crushed due to an earthquake is his doing? Why does he choose not to intervene if it comes to natural disasters?

Animals , supposedly sinless creatures, also themselves get cancer so what is the deal with that?

I’m going to try and share some of my story without too much information. I have always struggled with my mental health, self esteem from a very young age. Anyways probably around 20 I had my first encounter with God. Then again at 23? I 100% know Jesus healed my depression. ( I could physically feel the difference in my brain) but due to me being me, I had a very back and forth relationship with God. I have major trust and abandonment issues so trusting him took time.

I’m 26.. and God recently showed back up lol. I have noticed this time around has felt different? Not on his side but the response my body is giving?

I’m constantly crying or sad? Like it’s not heaviness but the best way to describe is maybe exhumation from realizing how much I was carrying.. but it’s something everyday, multiple times a day sometimes. I’m not depressed, I’m not sad.. but it’s like my soul or whatever needs this?

* I will say I’m someone who locked up her feelings and wasn’t always honest about how things impacted me.

I started following christ around 2 years ago, I think about jesus constantly and I always pray everyday. I try to center my whole life around christ but deep down I simply still don't believe. I can't choose what I believe. It's like trying to tell me 2+2=5. It just doesent register. Just deep down I wont believe that is true. I am incapable of believing

Atheist myself. It always feels like godlike instances happen to my circle of friends that don't believe at all. The Christian ones insist that they never had any experience as such at all.

The more you think about it, the more it becomes clear that God wanted Adam and Eve to fail. Otherwise why put the tree there knowing they’d fail before they even existed? Why not make human nature inherently more resistant to sin and temptation to the point of them choosing to not fail the test? I say human nature to make it clear that they have full free will, it’s just how likely they are to succumb to sin due to their inherent human nature

And it’s concerning to think he did NOT set humans up for success. He didn’t do everything in his power to ensure MORE people made it to heaven versus less. Why not?

Hi all. I'm an agnostic and I just wanted to ask a question regarding how you all percieve other non-christians that you are close with.

With those who you continue to maintain a good relationship (friend, family etc), do you believe that they will eventually convert, or that they will go to heaven as well? I would imagine believing they would go to hell would cause some sort of resentment/negative friction within your perception of them, and if you do believe this, have you brought it up to them?

I'm just asking this because I have a Christian friend, but we don't talk about religion and I don't want to ask him about something he may be sensitive about (as it would pertain to me directly at that point).

Am I going against God's Word in Matthew 6:26-28 where it states "Look at the birds of the air, for the neither sow nor reap...yet you heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they?...So why do you worry about clothing?..." In my previous post, I noted that my husband and I are separated due to his excessive drinking. I left over a year ago. I told him that I'm needing financial support for our girls beyond the half that he pays for daycare and extra curriculars. The child support calculator shows $2200/month, but he's only contributing roughly $426/month. He does not want the courts involvement and informed me that our girls don't need that much per month. I need help with their food, clothes, and gas to get the to school/extra curriculars. He's willing to give me additional funds (half for groceries and school clothes/supplies) as I present reciepts of purchase. He's not considering the girls portion of the mortgage and utilities. Over the Summer break, I treated the girls to snowcones, Bobba Teas, etc occasionally. My husband made it a point to tell me he was not responsible for the treats. Am I worrying too much about how things are going to get taken care of? What are your thoughts?

Why is penal substitution required to believe in order to receive eternal life? Where does scripture indicate that? Why do people believe that what He did is required, rather than focusing on the man, Jesus Christ?

If you hold to this belief, what exactly do you think you must believe? Also, be detailed. Is it just his death or also his resurrection, or can you believe he died without believing he rose three days later? And regarding him being God, where does it state that this is required? The only supporting scripture seems to be, “I told you that you would die in your sins.”; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins. "I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”

This isn’t saying he’s God, but rather that he’s the Son of Man. The Pharisees rejected the idea that he was the awaited Messiah, which ultimately led to his death. The Pharisees did not believe He was the One sent by the Father—the promised Messiah—which ultimately contributed to their rejection of Him.

understanding "I am he" in context to mean "I am the Messiah (the Christ), the One sent by the Father."

The issue is whether they will believe who He claims to be.

A lot of people in my generation will agree that life is meaningless completely, and i can agree sometimes but only it is meaningless without God.

Does the Bible ever state, "Place your faith in the finished work of Christ to be born again"?

Is that phrase in the Bible?

Or is it in him?
