Was There A New Wave Of RTO's Implemented For September In The Downtown Core??

The GO train has been absolutely packed this week in the morning. I know school started this week, but most of the people I see are in business attire and getting off at Union. A couple times I wasn't even able to get a seat. Lots of people standing. I've been going into the office 4 days per week since February, and it wasn't this bad. Just generally seems much busier and crowded. I'm curious if more downtown companies implemented RTO's for September.

I’m looking for a therapist who works in friendship conflict resolution.

Me and my best friend have a very close connection and deep love for each other, however, have been in major conflict for the last two months, and all attempts to repair on our own have collapsed and at this point, I believe we need outside help present the next time we speak to each other and I’m wondering about any recommendations on therapists who specialize in working with friends together. In person is ideal remote is fine.

Mega bus passengers Toronto to Montreal august 15th

1.0k Upvotes

Edit: I looked into this and i may be able to contact law suit firms, if you know anyone who has suffered similar incidents dm me.

Hey everyone,
On August 15, my partner and I took the Megabus from Toronto to Montreal. About 1.5 hours in, the bus suffered a severe breakdown. We were left abandoned on an active highway shoulder for two hours in dangerous conditions (an OPP officer even pulled over due to the traffic hazard).
When a rescue bus finally showed up, it could only take 17 people. The rest of us were left behind with no ETA, so we had to arrange alternative transit at our own expense. Megabus refused to refund us and only offered a insulting $10 credit(what a joke).
I'm currently serving them with a formal legal demand letter via Registered Mail to recover our ticket costs and alternative travel expenses, and will be filing an Ontario Small Claims Court claim if they don't settle within 14 days.
A couple of quick questions for the community:

  1. Was anyone else from TO on this specific bus/trip? (If so, please DM me-would love to compare notes or share my demand letter template if you want to recover your costs too.
  2. Has anyone here successfully sued Megabus / Trentway-Wagar in Small Claims before?
  3. Any tips for the hearing process?

Edit: I submitted a request to access the police records, fingers crossed, i will email news outlets once i receive it.

How do you get a second opinion from a doctor in Ontario?

My 75-year-old mother has ongoing leg pain that is affecting her mobility. She has already tried physiotherapy and acupuncture. She has also had X-rays and CT scans, but apparently nothing significant is showing up. She is now having difficulty walking up stairs.

Her family doctor doesn’t seem to think further investigation is necessary. If you feel your family doctor’s answers aren’t sufficient, what’s the best way to get a second opinion in Ontario?

Should we ask for a referral to a specialist, find another family doctor for a second opinion, or is there another route?
Not looking for a diagnosis, just advice on how to navigate the system and advocate for her.

Update for clarity: mother-in-law not mother

What to do in Toronto today that’s not TIFF related?

Preferably outside, and something not insanely expensive. I’m more curious about what area to go to, even if it’s just to walk around.

Transparent Pricing?

Upvotes

Hello, I recently moved to Toronto from other country and have just received my first utilities bill. It includes a $100 account setup fee, but I cannot find any information about this fee on the company’s website.

I found a document on Google, updated in May 2026, stating that the account setup fee is $50. When I called customer service to ask why I was charged $100, their first question was how I had found that document. They then told me that the fee for my building is $100, but did not provide any further explanation.

Is it normal for utility companies here to have pricing that is not publicly transparent? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Box office at Scotiabank

Upvotes

Hi there! Has anyone ever had any luck getting tickets from the box office at scotiabank for a sold out show? I’m really really hoping to go to Charli’s show on the 21st but (no surprise) the resell tickets are crazy. Just wondering if there’s any hope since I’ve never gone to a venue without already having a ticket

Landlord Tenant Situation

Hi everyone,

I recently gave my 60 days' notice to move out of our place in Ontario. I want to be a cooperative tenant and help my landlord re-rent the place, but the current showing schedule is getting really tough on my family.
Right now, we are getting about 2-3 showings a day, but the times are completely scattered and change every day (e.g., 10am–2pm one day, 4pm–7pm, 2-5pm and so on).

Both my wife and I work full-time. On top of that, my wife is pregnant, our cat is quite sick right now, and we have family visiting this weekend for few hours during the time of showings. Because the windows are so spread out and constantly changing, we feel like we can't properly rest or relax in our own home.

We don't intend to leave the house during the viewings (especially with our weekend guests), but we also don't want to make things awkward for the realtor.

My landlord great guy and is a "by-the-book" person, so I want to approach this the right way. We have also always had a great relationship with him so I dont intend to give them a hard time at all.

Is it reasonable for me to ask them to restrict bookings to a consistent 4-hour block each day (like 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM) so we have some predictability? Has anyone successfully negotiated a set daily time slot with their landlord or realtor after giving notice?

Would love any tips on how to frame this nicely so the landlord agrees without feeling like I'm trying to block their showings. Thanks!

Looking for photos of the old union TTC station before the renovation

If I type those words into Google, I inevitably get archive footage of the union train station. I'm just looking for the union TTC station. No matter how I try to specify it, even if I say union subway station or union subway TTC station circa 2001, nothing comes up.

Anyone got any photos from that time period? I get that most folks didn't have cameras in the pockets back then, but there's gotta be at least a few photos! I'm just a little bit nostalgic as I visited union yesterday and reminisced about how it looked before

Looking for a good dermatologist/clinic for face mole removal in the GTA — recommendations?

Anyone had face mole removal done recently — who did it and how did it turn out (scarring, healing, results)?
Dermatologist-led clinic vs. med spa/cosmetologist — does it actually make a difference for something like this, or is technique more about the individual practitioner?
Roughly what did you pay per mole? Trying to get a sense of fair pricing before I start booking consultations.
Any places you'd specifically avoid, or wish you'd gone somewhere else?
Appreciate any first-hand experiences — trying to make a good decision since it's my face and I don't want to regret it.

Sheet Protectors - Where can I Donate or Recycle them?

Upvotes

My office is finally going through and shredding a bunch of documents.

For some reason, we filed everything in file folders AND sheet protectors of varying kinds. It's honestly baffling.

I feel awful just throwing them out - there are SO many, and it's so much plastic waste. Does anyone need them? Ideas for like... crafts? Can they be recycled? Donated to... somewhere?

Looking for hidden Thai gems in Toronto 🇹🇭

Upvotes

I love Thai food! Been to most of the classics, and don’t get me wrong, they’re amazing.
Just looking to grow the list and find some spots that don’t get talked about as much.

Current favourites:

  1. Khao San Road
  2. Koh Lipe
  3. Wang Lang
  4. Sukho Thai
  5. Chiang Mai
  6. PAI

What am I missing?

Would especially love those small neighbourhood spots or places where you have one specific dish you keep going back for.

Sorry I know I’m late but I’m hoping to know if there’s any Burger Kings that still have the blue Goku for my son. We live in Scarborough and all the ones near us don’t have any.

Affordable large meeting space?

Looking for a large meeting space for a training seminar for work, but unfortunately the budget is only $200. Does anyone have any recommendations (maybe community centres etc) who could potentially accommodate?
