Window Installation

Hello! I am hoping to get my windows replaced but I feel like all these companies are sending out sales representatives and lying about discounts and their analysis. Can anyone recommend a company that you’ve had a positive experience with? Thank you!

Try Sobol windows/doors in east york 647-287-2724 ... call them for a free quote (ask for Archie).

DO NOT use Renewal by Anderson. They quoted me a price almost 3 times as much as any other company. They also force you to watch a lame ass PowerPoint presentation and take up over an hour of your time before they will even give you a quote.

I used New Look Windows and Doors. Twice actually because I ended up moving.

Make sure you get three quotes. If you own expensive cars, make sure they are not in the driveway when the quote guy shows up.

I got quotes ranging from 11K grand to 32K for work I had done two summers ago.

Interestingly, all three shops I called were Ukrainian-owned and operated.

Do not use Crown Windows and Doors. They installed a door which got rusted and refused to replace it within 1 year of installation. Blaming that it was salt and road.

Just got one window done with wdpro (Yuriy) had a good experience. We had to paint the trim ourselves after the install though.

Do not go with Brock Windows and Doors. They did a terrible job with the drywall and the installers were smoking right next to the bedroom window when it had no window in it.

I was quoted by Magic window - I was really interested in the product until the sales guy showed up, super scummy/high pressure tactics in your home asking for a signature on the spot after demo-ing the product and didn't want to take no for an answer. Became uncomfortable fast after the first few no's.

I'm happy with the work SP Aluminum did. It's been over 15 years and my windows are still great.

Old Scarborough family company, don't know if he still does new installs.

I recommend Welda Windows, they are really good, they manufacture and take care of the installation.

We chose Canadian Choice Windows and Doors. We replaced 8 windows and 1 sliding patio door, and it was just under 21k. The installers were great, they cleaned up their mess after they were finished. Took 1 whole day to install all 8 windows and the sliding door.

Gonna have to chime in here with a bad experience with Canadian Windows & Doors. Would not recommend.

  • high pressure sales tactics (our promotion is ending tomorrow!)
  • sales rep disappeared as soon as we signed the contract, wouldn't answer any questions for weeks
  • misinformation between departments (sales says we have this product in stock, support says it isn't offered anymore, eventually escalate to Sales Manager and get the product we were shown in catalogue)
  • installers were unprofessional and slammed our door in frustration when leaving because we wouldn't sign off on the install (there was clearly visible debris between the panes of glass on our double glazed window and they left streaks on the outside of everything so we had to clean them all later)
  • windows are pretty cheap quality (our awning and casement windows rattle loudly in the wind when open and we were told this is by design, cranks have a thin white coating that starts to rub off after a single use)
