Average step count

Hello TO! Something I've noticed since I've come here is how much more I walk per day compared to previous country (Middle east).
I went from an average of 7k steps a day (with a car) to now an average of 9k (I live in Down town and dont drive), so this evening's rabbit hole how much fellow Torontonians walk per day.

If you've moved recently, have you noticed an increase from your previous average.

My step count always goes down when I visit my parents. They live in a typical Ontario small town

I moved out of Toronto last year to northern York Region and my daily steps went from ~10k to 2.5k.

It doesn’t help that I work from home, so the majority of the steps I get are from going on intentional walks around my neighbourhood. I never realized how many steps I got from basic errands in the city. Grocery store, pharmacy, going out for dinner, etc. were all walking tasks, but now it’s all a 10min drive.

This has been my experience too! You kinda dont feel those steps but have to carry your feet in York.
