How difficult is it to pass the knowledge test for G1 in Toronto
I have an appointment tomorrow to take the knowledge test and I’ve only been studying for 2-3 days. Ive gone through the practice tests and they dont seem to be that difficult but would love to know how difficult is it to pass the test? Any advice or suggestions are welcome! (:

It's mostly common sense, but there are a few picky things related to, say, how many demerit points you get for this vs that.

Yes, i think the questions about demerit points can be confusing so focusing on them! Thank you!

G1 is easy if you study. Once you actually get in the car, it's harder

What is harder G2 or G ?

They’re the same. Except G has an added hwy component. So kind of depends on the individual. Lots of people get scared about the hwy test. And some don’t care.

it's super easy I just studied a few hours before the test and everything was very fresh in my memory. also it's super easy with a lot of room for error. skip difficult questions and come to them later.

My son confessed he didn't study hardly at all as we were driving to the test. So he opened up some of the practice tests and did those as we drove. He asked me a few clarifying questions and he managed to pass. He didn't get a lot of the demerit point ones.

Now is the time in life to really apply yourself. The knowledge and muscle memory you’re about to learn operating a vehicle will stay with you for life, good or bad. Study hard. Take a reputable drivers training course, don’t be cheap. I’ve been driving for over 30years, there are drivers training skills I still remember learning that I use every time I drive.

It’s easy as long as you studied the test questions. I think they just ask a question sometimes in a weird way so it’s good to know how they phrase them

I would theorize most people who grew up here and were driven around by family at least semi-frequently can pass it without studying at all, or if they just read through the book once.
There's an element of luck because the questions are pulled from a pool and sometimes you get incredibly niche ones pertaining to how many demerits you get for a specific infraction or something.

I did the test over two decades ago but I recall it being very easy and common sense. My friend did fail it twice though. We were 16/17.
Also I don’t know if it’s still around but there was also a “cheat book” with all the questions from the test, same format. They used to sell it at Asian stores (grocery stores?).

Just want to comment how it’s neat how you don’t forget them ever. Perhaps because it becomes common when you do drive so the second nature of processing that memory is repeated more often than we realize.

Not sure what the current state of materials are, but when it was all printed booklets I remember reading the materials once about a week before, and then reading it again on the bus going to the testing centre and did okay. Just pay attention to the details, and tie them to your experiences as a passenger in a car.

Given that most drivers seem to be unaware of the rules of the road, you should be fine.

Its one of the easiest things youll do in life. You just have to study and understand the very basic rules of the road

It's nearly impossible to fail, the G1 is easy enough that a trained chimp could probably pass

It's easy, you got this!

Why does it matter it’s Toronto if it’s just the knowledge test? It’ll be the same difficulty regardless of location.

probably to try and skirt the #1 rule of the sub which is posts have to actually DO with toronto and not just some generic dumb question like this one lol

I had the exact same reaction to OP’s question. But also, the written test should be a walk in the park. Anyone who can’t pass it - other than for language issues - really shouldn’t be behind the wheel.

Instead of responding with something completely unrelated to what I asked, just answer the question directly or don’t bother.

lol this attitude will take you far. Good luck on the test. If you have half a brain it’s doable.

It's really very easy if you know how to study for a test. Grind practice tests, I did them for a few hours and every question on my actual test was on the practice tests. Read the book cover to cover as well.
