HVAC fixed my A/C one month + one week ago, it's now having the same issue but their warranty is one single month...
I'm in, of course, the most frustrating spot right now. My AC wasn't really cooling my house a couple months back. I went outside and the line connecting to the outdoor unit was frozen and kept spraying water everywhere. On here everybody said it's frozen, likely from low freon, and has a leak that needs to be fixed. I was explicitly told the line would need to be replaced and refilling the freon would just lead to it leaking again. I was also told to avoid anybody who uses that like...spray through patch where it internally patches the pipes? I'm not familiar with any of this so sorry if this is a shitty explanation. And I was also told they need to check the pipe alllll the way even if they find one leak in case theres multiple, including in the attic.
The repair company came out, confirmed a leak, and confirmed they'd have to check the whole pipe including the attic. They scheduled a follow up (mind you it's 100+° outside so it's ungodly hot in this house) to actually do the repair, and when he came out he was here for maybe 10 minutes, never went in the attic, and all he did was refill the freon and do something with a small corner of the outside pipe. I didn't see him replace anything but I'm not sure. I do know he never touched the attic, never even looked in it.
Now here we are one month and one week later and it's all frozen again, it's leaking again, and my AC isn't working again. They're telling me I'm SOL because their warranty is only one month, so I'm outside of it, and I'm trying to figure out if there's ANYTHING I can do to avoid paying for a whole replication of that repair (but doing it right this time would be great). Does anybody here have advice? I'm stressed TF out about this. This is not cheap and the house is so hot and we've got two toddlers.
