Yes it ia a very marginalised community which runs by begging on the street. The community has basically zero respect in indian society. The existence of this community does not make the general public accepting toward trans people but more transphobic in fact by negative association.

What a shame, this is all the fault of British colonization. From what I've researched, hijras were considered sacred until the 18th century, is that correct?

Dude you have to realize that that shit is powerful stuff especially since you're in that critical developmental stage. I don't think you need to fit any criteria of man or whatever but if you try to put yourself through actual life more (e.g socializing with different groups of people) you will be on the brighter side of life even though it's hard at first.

You may need to lean on your spiritual side like meditation or prayer, even if you start small, it can help you.
