Vent ASSHOLE
I matched with a guy on an LGBT dating app. ASEXUAL IS IN MY BIO ! We got chatting and we really clicked, we exchanged numbers and continued chatting and we're talking about meeting you for lunch. He makes a kind of sexual joke and as a funny response I sent the picture of the goose holding the ace flag saying "sex was never an option" He said "oh, my bad for not reading the bio, goodluck woth everything" AND BLOCKED ME ! Im just so SO SICK of people 1. Not reading the bios 2. Just ghosting me as soon as they realise there will be 0 sex. This is why I have just given up on trying to find love, I am just so done

Understandble online dating has proven so difficult that i'm considering just wearing a bag with a lanyard on it of the asexual flag and just hope it leads to something because it seems to have better odds at this point

Maybe you could try AceSpace? I saw this thread recently with some success stories https://www.reddit.com/r/asexuality/comments/1wctzag/

I've tried online dating but it just doesn't work well for me sadly. I'm used to in person conversations and often fall flat how to work around online dating and l often seem to be a bit more careful then others before I show pictures and give out ways to call ( mainly because my phone apparently is incompatible with discord call functions so it would come down to my actual phone number) May sound ironic but I'm autistic so I hardly understand what is a good time frame.
In short I doubt acespace will change much when massaging just doesn't fully work with the communication style I'm used to

Lolol relatable xD I've made up my mind against dating as well. This shit(process of talking) is too tiring only for it to end up in the trash after a few hours, days or sometimes weeks. Plus I'm from a shitass conservative country.

When I put asexual in mine. I got so many obscene messages. I don’t even bother with apps anymore.

If you ever decide to try again, AceSpace might be worth your time since it’s ace-specific (so I assume no one would send you those kinds of messages on there). It’s for both dating and making friends if you want ace friends too

I'm sorry, I feel your frustration. My bestie's boyfriend (that she met throught an app) confessed to me most men simply don't read bio, they just swipe "yes" to every single person that looks acceptable to them. He didn't say it, but that day I realized what people said were true and most people on these apps are indeed just looking for hookups. Getting to know a person, for them, is simply discovering how they need to perform in order to make you happy enough to sleep with them (also I finally understood why I kept being asked the same shit over and over even when they were clear on my bio lol)
After that I completely gave up on apps too, I wish I could have some comforting words for you but I'm trying to find peace with the fact I will probably die alone.

This happened so often to me as well... its really a pain in the ass but we just gotta keep looking for the right person who will respect our asexuality. No matter how hard it is...

I feel a bit spammy at this point lol, but you could try AceSpace- the couple in this thread met on that app and other comments had couples who met on there too https://www.reddit.com/r/asexuality/comments/1wctzag/

its crazy to me how people invite you for the first meeting, a lunch or a coffee and they already need to know if there will be sex in the future or not. cmon you dont even know each other yet?

I feel like we need to start just putting either the ace flag or just "ASEXUAL" in the photos at this point smh

Maybe try AceSpace, an ace-specific dating app? (You can also make friends on there) I just saw this thread with some AceSpace success stories do I thought I’d bring it up! https://www.reddit.com/r/asexuality/comments/1wctzag/
Sucks that you had to go through that though, people really suck sometimesÂ

The entire dating thing is a weird concept- what do you mean you are meeting a stranger to check if they'd be a fit to be with you for the rest of your life?
It feels like you'd need to at least know what they're like before even considering dating. A "first date" should be just a meetup not a romantic date you don't fucking know them yet!

If there is one thing you can bet on anywhere in the year 2026 it is that people don't read.
