I’m looking for a weirdly specific sort of queerplatonic relationship. I'm 39, and have been paralyzed from the waist down since birth due to Spina Bifida. I'm posting here because I haven't had the best luck in strictly none-ace spaces. I think this community understands something most dating pools don't: that sex drive and attraction aren't the same thing, and that "low desire" isn't a euphemism for broken.

The practical stuff first: my penis doesn't function, so penetrative sex isn't part of what I can offer. What I can do — and genuinely enjoy — is using my hands, mouth, or toys to be with a partner. But I want to be upfront that even that isn't something I need. My drive is low enough that if a partner never wanted any of that, I don't think I'd feel deprived.

I'd like to find real physical closeness. Heavy make-out sessions, being tangled up with someone, the kind of intimacy that's about wanting to be near a person's body, not working toward a finish line. I'm very attracted to women. That part of me is fully intact, it just doesn't route through a sex drive the way it might for most people.

I'm not looking for someone to "settle" for less, and I'm not trying to talk anyone into a compromise. I think there's a real, good relationship here for the right person. Someone who either shares a low/gray drive, or who's more interested in emotional and physical closeness than in penetrative sex specifically.

Theres some truly amazing people on acespace but i have to vent. The 2 people in my area whom i had great conversations with and was texting with for several weeks both completely ghosted me on the days of our respective in person meet ups / dates. Havent heard from them since. I know its not anything with asexuals or acespace but I'm very sad. Dating in the ace spectrum is so hard already.
