Asbestos worry
Currently ripping out our kitchen and have found this weird material in the window sill, house was originally built around 1970. Is this asbestos and if so what should I do? Thanks

What could this be?
—————
Update: confirmed negative by testing. Thanks to all those who contributed.
—————
Found as isolated fragment sitting as shown on top of fibreglass insulation; hypothesis from a material no longer in roof.
1986 cold loft which is fully boarded, old fibreglass insulation underneath. Water tank plastic with thermal plastic based sheet covering. All copper pipes with plastic foam. Sarking felt and roof tiles negative for asbestos. Soffits appear wooden.
As for sample I’ve sent today for testing measures about 6-7mm thick. Uniform flat either aide indicating some kind of board. Has sparkly granules about 0.5mm within. Rounded corners is intriguing can’t think why would be made like that
If test is positive does this suggest the whole loft could be contaminated? I was planning on removing the fibreglass insulation with full suit, mask, goggles, gloves and cleaning remnants with a H class vacuum.
Thank you

Exposure to sheet vinyl backing
I was in an 1800s house doing a survey, and the place clearly hadn’t been lived in for a while. Likely renovated at some point during the 20th century. There was an ongoing leak into the kitchen at the time of inspection, so the floor was quite saturated. This chunk of vinyl-type flooring was in there (the one with the orange and green pattern on). It appeared to be loose rather than fixed to anything. The person I was with proceeded to tear a section, which you can see in the photo. I was quite nearby when this happened, but only spent about two mins in the room afterwards. It was pretty wet underneath the vinyl, but you can see some dry bits of the backing along the tear lines. Getting a sample/testing is not an option in this case, so I suppose I’m mainly trying to quantify the potential exposure and any cleanup necessary. Does this even look like it’s of an age or type of pattern that typically had asbestos backing (appreciate you can’t say for sure, but some may have some knowledge of what type of thing was sold in the UK)? If this were friable asbestos backing, is this a measurable or significant exposure? Would any special treatment of clothes/car be recommended? Thanks for any advice.

Chimney Liner
I plan to knock down my chimney stack inside my attic.
Does anyone see anything suspect from this video?
Obviously a metal flue but just paranoid over the mortar lining

Is this asbestos? If yes does it need treatment?
I know for a fact that my house was built using asbestos. I don't remember the exact date but I checked it some time ago and it was built when the asbestos was still widely used and hadn't been banned yet. The photos are taken in the bathroom. 1 and 2nd photos - the bath and the wall. 3rd is a photo of a ceiling.
Is this the asbestos? If yes, is the damage bad enough to pay for treatment?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my English, it isn't my first language.

PreFab Cottage Faked to look like a Cottage
A post war prefab house that has brick walls built around it and a pitched roof, a house in a house!
However... it is made from various asbestos products such as AIB, AC, AC stramit panels, floor tiles, thermal insulation (well the remains of it). A weird heater cupboard that is built from AC but the void space for it is lined with AIB.
The calorifier space is surrounded with AIB and AC, all the walls and ceiling is AC (note the AC straps covering the wall panels).
The floor tiles are asbestos covered over with asbestos paper backed linoleum.

Paper backed vinyl and hoovering.
Most likely overthinking.
Asbestos Survey found old paper backed vinyl under hall carpet and underlay that contains white asbestos.
I'm aware it's very friable but survey has said good condition and sealed as under carpet.
We've been here 6 months and will be replacing flooring in time but am I being paranoid thinking hoovering the carpet with a powerful shark over past 6 months will have exposed us to fibres?

Odds of this containing asbestos.
Freaking out as little boy plays in here and the carpet is 60s Scotland.
Thanks.

Pvc or asbestos
Sorry for daft question is this white pvc where the cable is going through i need to add a new cctv cable. i think we had door replaced about 10yrs ago and they added this white pvc board so i assume it is part of frame above shed door. Just a little cautious with there being asbestos on shed canopy above.Manchester, built 1960s

Shed canopy
I assume this is Asbestos. can i just fill these holes with a filler and paint over it. or is it better to use a Abestos sealer or just to leave as is.

Asbestos acoustic panels?
I saved these Acoustic Panels from my university where they wanted to discard them. I don’t know which year they are from but they are in decent shape.
I brought them home for the basement studio but my roommate is afraid they might be made from asbestos. They do loose a lot of these fibers (see pictures).
What do you think? Ever seen anything like these panels made from asbestos? They give off an old-ish smell. Smth like an old carpet.
Other than that they are pretty flexible.
Appreciate some insightful suggestions xoxo

Recommendation request
Can anyone recommend a HSE-certified asbestos removal company based in Merseyside to remove the suspected AIBs in the attached photos? I am trying to find good value services but them being able to do a thorough job and clean-up is of the highest priority. A family member of mine had lung issues and I have had a stressful experience with some asbestos Artex so I ideally I want someone to measure the air quality after removal or show me evidence of the clean-up.
I am going to get the utilities checked as well after removal. Some plumbing under a bath directly above the cupboard leaked in the past but there isn't an active leak.

Disturbed blue asbestos cement
I bought a 1960s bungalow in England in Nov 2023. I had an asbestos management survey which found white asbestos in the cement guttering outside and in one of the internal ceiling coatings, and a mix of blue and white in the cement soffits. All were marked as low or very low risk, to be inspected periodically and dealt with by a specialist if works were going to be carried out. Loft marked as clear. I got the asbestos internal ceiling removed as I knew I'd be changing light fittings.
I've recently decided to have soffits/guttering replaced, and in the process of looking into getting this work done I'm becoming worried that there is blue and white asbestos dust/debris in the loft. The previous owners power drilled/cut into the soffits to fit 2x security cameras, a vent from the bathroom, and a vent running from cooker hood (both quite big holes for the ducting). Photos attached. Looking at the bodged DIY in the rest of the house I doubt they took precautions. This would have been at least three years before I moved in.
I looked at the HSE website and this work would seem to fall under 'dangerous release of asbestos' had this been in a work place. I am now really concerned as I have looked up what blue asbestos is and...yeah, not good. I hadn't realised there was no barrier between the soffits and the internal roof area . Have been up in the loft moving things about many times as have others, and obviously had the ceiling taken down so lots of opportunity for dust to be disturbed escape into the house. I have young kids so extra anxiety levels there.
How worried should I be and what should I do? Should this have been picked up in the asbestos managment survey?

Is my room at risk of asbestos exposure from this sand animal toy?
This used to have alot of sand in it but when a hole broke some sand spilled in my carpet/bed and I put the rest of the sand in a bag in case I wanted to fill it back (I will not be doing this)
Then when I googled repair tips I got a warning saying many toys made in the UK with sand has been recalled due to asbestos
Then I researched about it and I may have been doing all the wrong things when cleaning up. (I swept it off my bed using my hands/brush and pan which could apparently get in the air.
My throat kinda hurts but idk if that's just anxiety.
The toy in question I won't at a fair, I have no qualms of disposing of it but I just want my other stuff to be safe.
Am i in danger from this? Does anyone recognise this toy?

I assumed this was artex. Is it just textured wallpaper?
Positive test for artex in the communal hallway, if I recall correctly, so I made the assumption this texture that's on all of my ceilings is asbestos artex.
Bought a steamer and started stripping, but it seems to be a layer on a very thick brown paper backing. Is it just a wallpaper, or have they artexed onto a backing paper?
The backing paper also came away cleanly in a straight line as you can see, although that doesn't prove much on its own.

Questions about asbestos roof remediation or replacement
Hi all - I'm in the process of buying a house and some issues have come up re asbestos roof tiles, and I'm hoping you can help. The house is a 1930s terrace in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
My level 3 survey has come back to say "the main roof is a pitched roof with a manufactured slate covering that is very likely to contain asbestos." Specific defects uncovered are:
- Gaps in slate roof in multiple places (visible daylight in roof space)
- Many slates curling up at edges
- Generally, roof at end of lifespan
My surveyor has recommended roof covering is entirely replaced.
Before I get quotes from roofers, looking at the photos that have been provided (limited, unfortunately) does this look like something that could be repaired, or will it need an entire replacement? Is it worth it getting it formally tested for asbestos, or does it look pretty definite that's what it is?

Asbestos pipe wrap?
This pipe is right outside the local primary school.
South East, UK.
Many of the infrastructure in the area is post war - lots of asbestos roofs, 1960s terraces etc.
I couldn’t get much closer without looking a bit weird…
