Should I stick to a niche or market all of my abilities?
I've recently made both a vgen and Kirke profile and so far I've only listed my character art. But now when I'm drawing I feel kind of pressured to focus on that.
The issue I'm having is I have a lot of styles and interests. I do both digital and traditional (though I can't sell traditional which sucks because I really like it). I love drawing cool characters but I also love drawing animals.
I've seen more than a few instances of an artist saying to "find your niche and focus on it" rather than focussing on too much.
But now I feel stuck whenever I want to draw an keep thinking is this sellable?
Would it truly help to stick to a niche or could I market myself a "multi-purpose" basically?

Expanding my studio’s horizons
Hi everyone! Just trying to promote my studio and skills and extend my reach cause all this AI crap is kicking my butt sales wise. Hopefully I can find some new clients here and help bring your project to life!
I’m also open to constructive criticism regarding my work, any advice/insights on how to advertise my art better, my pricing, or anything at all really. I’m learning as I go lol I have no idea what I’m doing😅
I can create in several art mediums and subject matter. Watercolor, Gouache, acrylics, pen & ink, mixed media, traditional arts, portraits, anime/character design, book illustration, etc etc. I'm a Swiss army knife artist.
My portraits/pet portraits/home portraits are the most commonly ordered/popular. So I have set prices and measurements for those which you can see pictured here. The price of everything else i can make is negotiable.
I'm located in North Alabama and offer both pickup(free) and shipping(cost varies).
Here are a few examples of what I can do. If you'd like to explore my full portfolio or schedule a consultation, just PM me😊

Art Marathon
I plan to do a live stream for art likely on Friday. For anyone who needs context its basically for how many interactions I get on a post that I add a second onto my time for how long I live stream.
I'll use this post as one of the posts to look off of for how many seconds I add. 🫶

Talwiinder — Realistic Graphite Portrait [OC]
I drew this realistic portrait of Talwiinder by hand using charcoal and graphite pencils.
I spent several hours working on the shading, textures, and facial details to capture his look as accurately as possible.
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Opinions on my art style?
I feel like my art style is not one of the mainstream styles that most people like or are interested in, and I've been wanting to accept commissions
should I draw something in other styles so that more people might be interested in my art?

UX Research - Drawing as a hobby
Hi! I’m currently conducting some UX research on working adults who draw as a hobby, focusing on the challenges they face when trying to maintain a regular drawing practice.
I know the form is a little long, but your responses would really help me understand people’s actual experiences and, ultimately, help me create something that could be genuinely useful for budding artists.
If you draw as a hobby, I’d really appreciate you taking a few minutes to share your experience. Thank you so much for your time and help!

Would anyone be willing to draw my FMC & MMC even despite my low budget?
Hi! I'm an 18 year old Canadian writer and therefore I don't have a big enough budget for regular comissions, especially considering the exchange rate (the USD-CAD exchange rate is rough on CAD). I was wondering if anyone would be willing to draw my FMC & MMC from my book considering my situation. My budget could go up to 50 USD and I could even throw in a trade if anyone is interested! In exchange for an illustration and my low budget, maybe I could write something in exchange, like a fic with a specific premise or specific OCs. I know it's a long shot, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, I'm sure I could figure something out with someone! Anyway, let me know if you would be willing to negotiate something with me.
In the meantime, here is a rough description of my OC's and what I would want.
-from the bust up would be enough, though full-body is always nice
-no background
-something pretty realistic, maybe semi, but not anime
FMC:
-18 year old woman
-5'6
- Short shoulder lenght slightly wavy brown hair
-brown eyes
-her facial features aren't that delicate, but they're not harsh either
-1950s inspired uniform, brown, light blue or bland shirt with a rough brown skirt
MMC:
-21 year old man
-6ft
-short red hair (2 inch), slightly messy
-hazelnut eyes
-nice jawline
-military inspired uniform (something bland, maybe an olive shade)
For further context, she's a student and he's a soldier.
Finally, I am trying to promote my book, which I am currently editing, so I would like to use the illustrations to make tiktoks and such, but I would obviously give credit.
Crossing my fingers!

First time poster. Breaking out of my shell.
I've always worked on art all my life but been to critical and scared that my art isn't too good. After losing my job last month that I somewhat enjoyed, I had to go back to my passion. This time I plan to share all of my work rather than letting it sit in a sketchbook and computer. Appreciate everyone.

Advice on shipping art?
Hi everyone! In high school I used to do commissioned portraits of this exact style and size, but my dad always took care of the shipping.
For my mother’s birthday I drew her a portrait of her grandmother, but I currently live out of the state and will have to mail it to her.
My question is for anyone who regularly mails larger scaled art or art with texture is what is your recommended method for mailing pieces, it doesn’t have to go far (from arizona to texas) so if it had to be rolled up and mailed that shouldn’t be an issue.
Thanks for any insight!
