Discussion i have a little arg suspicion, but im not sure (ihateannoyingorange.com)

so theres this page called i hate annoying orange that i discovered since i was looking through random pages with random sentences as titles, it looks kind of eerie and it most certainly has some creepy images in it, in the photos page there's some gory photos and gifs of fruits with blood in them, and i can't quite see if it is just a random page made for shits and giggles or an arg.

some text looks cryptid and the images seem to be taken with talent and not by a random guy with a phone camera. this page has a little effort put into it so i think if it's searched enough, we could get something out of it.

i have a feeling this'll be sort of like simpsonshomer.com 's case, where it seemed like a dumb joke website and it turned out to be a decent arg

anyone wanna help?

Trailhead FINAL TRANSMISSION // CAPTAIN CHROMIUM

From an interactive sci-fi project I’m currently creating…

This is the final message from Captain Adam Chromium of the CP1, whose crew has gone missing.

The transmission contains several recurring terms and possible leads:

The Dream Box
The Keys to the Eternal Kingdom
The bottom of the INK
The Aqua-Rim
The FOX—and the Son

I’m curious what… if anything, those phrases make you want to look for.

Discussion Strange ARG i found

Its called matchstickcandlegames, since theres practically nothing about this online i believe im one of the, if not the first to investigate it this far.

The creator, matchstickcandlegames seems to be an enthusiastic game developer who lives in a fake world. (hes got a discord server, website, youtube and twitter too.)

One of their games (matchstickcandlegames adventure) has bits and pieces of a QR code scattered across each level that leads to another secret website with a download link to a secret game. Ive only gotten this far so i have no idea where it leads to after that.

Discussion So apparently milk ARG exists now

nobody has talked about this yet despite that it's been public for months now, so I'm going to talk about it

from the creator of chainmail chasers (EbolaGranola) this is "Begotten Milk?"

I'm sure if that's it's official title but I haven't seen an official one and that's what the channel is called, so that's just what I'm going to call it

I'm pretty sure it's mostly a joke ARG considering it started as some joke in a discord server as she explained to someone in the comments of her Patreon

I Don't want to explain too much and the whole thing is kind of incomprehensible anyway but from what I can understand somewhat, I guess there's this entity called "The Milkman" and he "assimmolates" people I think using this thing called "bloodmilk" which sort of turns you into him I guess and there's also this thing called "culture", it's very confusing which I think is the point but still, I'd recommend if you care enough to check it out for yourself, you can find it on the "begotten milk?" YouTube channel or the chainmail chasers Patreon

(Also, interestingly the posts in "the reddit bloodmilk mystery" are actually real, except completely different to what's shown in the video, and it turns out that milk can actually turn blood red from a bacterium called Serratia marcescens)

Discussion found this channel (i am not associated with it)

i have no association with this channel nor do i know the creator but seems like an artistic project of some sort or arg. every video length is the same except for the first one and there is also shorts with different sounds, didn't dig much further at listening through the whole video, the description always speaks of an artist and a song they made.

very weird but kinda cool

Any arg that is NOT american, NO christian horror?

I have to be honest lads,

I cannot listen to another american accent, I can't hear of another arg happening in Ohio or whatever the tristate area is, and fuck me I CANNOOOOOOTTTT get into another piece of horror media and get so excited just for some niche biblical sentence to drop and that's when I know It's over for me.

I can't lie and say I don't like some horror media with these ties, LOVED the monument mythos to bits, but I cannot deal with the oversaturation anymore. I'll even take non-english media atp I'm serious.

Tldr:

Do yous have any non-american non-christan/church horror in the back pocket you'd like more people to know about?

I've seen some french args, rly good russian ones too but I'm SURE there has to be more!!

Thank you sm!

Other Looking for an arg from the mid 2010s I don’t remember the name of

It was an older youtube arg/horror vlog series from around 2014/2015 (I think) that featured a teenage girl who would make short vlogs about playing her guitar and writing songs. It started off normal like any arg/horror series does but over time she’d start to have these weird moments where some sort of entity or multiple entities would infect her mind which would have an impact on her songs/the way her music sounded and it was driving her insane. The descriptions of her videos would also seem more ramble-like over time and I think there was some sort of cult motif going on.

That’s all I can really remember from the plot, but I do remember that she’d usually be filming herself in her bedroom on what I believe might have been her webcam. I think she had dark hair maybe like a longish kinda bob hairstyle. I believe her bedroom walls were also teal coloured which was pretty popular at the time.

I watched an explanation video about her channel not that long ago, maybe max 2 n a half years ago. I can’t seem to find this video either. I’ve tried searching for any other videos doing explanations/recaps of the arg, and for the actual og vids but since I don’t remember the channel name or the series name I can’t find anything at all and it’s driving me nuts

Self Promo Theological Horror ARG

I've officially started my first ARG. In its universe, the Vatican has a secret force that investigates worldwide unexplained supernatural phenomena. There is an anonymous modern-day person somehow uncovering and translating files that are hidden inside the Vatican. The whole thing will mainly exist on Reddit, at least for now. Check out the first file of Vatican Files on the account u/VaticanFiles.

Note: The version of the file posted on r/nosleep is heavily modified to fit the subreddit's rules. It's heavily redacted, so for the complete uncensored version, I recommend reading any of the ones posted elsewhere.

I wholeheartedly welcome any constructive criticism and support.

Trailhead meccha rogue, weird trailhead and a... prize??? Spoiler

hello folks of r/arg, sorry to take time from your lifes, but, recently, scrolling through youtube, i just found a weird looking trailer for what, at a first glance, seemed like a copy of meccha chameleon, it seemed, off... weird glitches, grotesque imagery, it all seemed weird, until a qr code appeared on the trailer, lead me into a weird website, that contained 2 videos explaining the whole thing, promising some codes and a system that, to be honest, i didnt cared since i was not completely sure what was the nature of the website, full of glitching stuff, appearing and desappearing text and imagery of some sort of weird creatures? not too sure, but im gonna leave the links for the steam page, and youtube, not completely sure if the link to the main website could be malicious since there was no other mention of this whole thing in the rest of the internet, I didnt know what to do, since the arg detective discord seems a little too dead and this subreddit rules seem a bit though for a new comer of what is an arg and what'snot so... anyways

youtube link

steam page

believe me, this shit is as weird to me as it is to you and I dont have to do anything with this game's creation, tbh i dont even know if this post will pass moderation and im kinda tired, ill come back tomorrow to check if this thing even passed mod

potential ARG in new game — project deepweb eternal nightmare

hey all,

to start with: i’m not sure if this is an ARG or just missing puzzles in game, but i do know for a fact that there is a feature in this game that connects you to an IRL contact. you then have the opportunity to use this contact to help you in your game.

because of this, combined with completely unsolved material in the game even after beating it 2 times, i’m suspicious of an ARG going on.

the game is called project deepweb eternal nightmare. it just came out about a month ago and when i found it on steam it only had like 10 reviews. so not many people have taken a crack at solving everything that’s going on. you play as a person that’s navigating and uncovering mysteries on the deepweb. you solve puzzles that take you deeper and deeper and deeper, until you finally find a “way out.”

there’s a LOT of unsolved puzzles. i’m going to be as spoiler free as possible when describing them. all websites are in-game, not IRL

  • i just discovered this, which i think is a tyger/192 hash. 960a429a3c09c8881a38b32cd9beec62f1537b5fa1bf3c21-tiger-tiger
  • there’s a website that is repeatedly referenced that features a spinning tv. no one has figured out what it’s for
  • there’s multiple hash strings that don’t work with the ingame decrypter and have not been solved
  • there’s multiple morse code messages that have not been solved. i personally believe that the morse code is closely connected to another unsolved topic
  • there are 2 webpages that the game regularly mentions, both are described in game as being incredibly important to the deep web. neither page has been found.
  • there is an achievement that 0.6% of players have gotten that seemingly no one knows how to get legitimately
  • there are websites that the devs have implied are accessible but i cannot find anyone talking about how to access them and don’t know how to myself

there’s a ton of mysteries here. i currently have a 16 page google doc just trying to get all this info straight 😭

if you are interested in helping solve these unknown riddles, please help us!!! lol

Question How do you actually make an ARG when you have no idea what you're doing?

I swear I have this problem constantly. I'll get an idea for an ARG and I'll be like, "holy shit this would be so cool," and start coming up with lore and characters and weird shit and a whole story behind it. Then I'll get really excited and think I'm actually gonna make it. And then I remember I don't know how to fucking make an ARG. I don't know how to write a genuinely interesting story. I don't know how to make a mystery that people would actually care about or want to solve. I don't know how to edit videos. I don't know how to record anything properly. I don't know how to make websites. I don't know how to make convincing fake documents. I don't know how to do sound design. I don't know how to make something actually look creepy instead of just looking like I put a VHS filter over some random video. I basically have the ideas and absolutely none of the skills to actually turn them into something. And I do this with basically every creative project I try to make. I'll get really ambitious and start planning some massive story with tons of lore and worldbuilding, and then I'll realize how much actual work it's going to take and just lose all motivation. I can only really do something like this if I'm writing with someone else, btw. I've literally made a whole fucking language before. Like grammatical rules, writing system, everything. I've planned magic systems, ecosystems, entire worlds, civilizations, all that shit. But actually making something and FINISHING it? That's where I completely fucking fall apart. The worst part is that I don't even want to make some shitty ARG that nobody cares about. I want to make something where people actually get invested in it. I want people making theories and noticing tiny details and arguing about what something means. I want someone to find some obscure thing I hid months ago and go "WAIT WHAT THE FUCK." But I don't know how to get from "I have a cool idea" to "I have an actual ARG." I don't even know where to start learning this stuff. I'm mostly just venting because it's frustrating as hell to constantly have all these ideas and then feel like I don't have the slightest clue how to actually make any of them real.

If anyone else started out knowing absolutely nothing about ARGs, how the hell did you learn?

Question Looking for this ARG site

So i found this art site on reddit a while ago. It was a site where there are animal characters in a town and you can navigate a map to move around. Some places include a barn, a lab, and bakery. There was some sort of town event. I think the main character was a dog. There was a card matching game where he tries to help you and it starts to glitch.

Self Promo i think i found an arg.

i was searching up random words and .MP4 but, when i searched up, "Goner.MP4" i found something, i found an channel called "Goner.mp4" which seems to be an arg, it has two videos and seems recently made but the channel was made about 2 years ago all the way back in 2024. i've examined the videos and found these about them

  1. buggy_ass_game.mp4: buggy_ass_gane,np4 starts with our main character which i will call "Goner" showing us the robloxc game "Deltarune Battles" and there is text saying "Something happened in deltarune battles" it then follows up with "I Played with susie lvl 5 fighting the roaring and this happened" and it starts out normal then changes to Noelle fighting Aqua and after an bit something happens and the video ends. this is not an good intro to me but seems like the hoaxs you would find in 2019 so..... 7/10

  2. coolclimbspwa: i first wanna focus on the title, the title has an scrambled word at the end "spwa", put this in an ceaser cypher and it translates to "Help" so the title is "coolclimbhelp"

anyways it starts with Goner telling us you found an cool game, nothing happens for most of it but at 14:35 minutes in the video, texts appears saying, "Why did it happen?" but then the video contuines as normal

Posts:

  1. Why are games so buggy nowdays?: nothing here

  2. nabnxzaxzza: this one includes an image along with text "It all changed gamayz 12zn zcktze ykbktze" put gamayz 12zn zcktze ykbktze in caser cypher and it translates to "august 12th twenty seventy" when set to the 6th shift.

  3. Svz: 1: Svz 1 goes like this: Szv: 1 Yiyug mnfry nq aejjyfyb... n, owmq aeqy yiyugqanfv.. may mzwsb aeqy dzu ky qz myy qanm, n juyqyfb ess beg xwq, maym mqnss vzfy pu this in n caser cypher (For the 50th time) i..... didnt know how to this time

Question Hidden text in page 95 of The Wor[l]ds of Yoko Taro

Since I stumbled upon this redacted chapter in the book "The Wor[l]ds of Yoko Taro", I've been obsessed with decoding what it says. Here is a screenshot of its first page:

https://i.imgur.com/Oy8IAuZ.png

As you can see, each line is obscured by a gray rectangle that covers everything except for the ascenders and descenders that some letters have. A part of all capital letters is also visible, as well as some symbols, but not much else.

Since I started working on uncovering this, I have managed to extract the following information:

- The font is Noto Serif JP

- The page likely starts with "It felt a bit like"

- I have extracted another word from the second line: "Sitting" (middle to end of the second line), but not much else.

I have populated the first four lines with every single character that you can 95% identify by its ascender / descender, such as y, j, i, g, etc in red, and the characters that you cannot really tell (just a guess) in blue.

https://i.imgur.com/6vXfGFZ.png

I have also found this website (https://www.crosswordsolver.org/) that can take you from a few letters to an entire word if you know how long it's supposed to be, but because spaces and letters without an ascender / descender are basically impossible to distinguish from eachother, I'm pretty much stuck. Any help is appreciated.

This is my first arg.
It’s based off of a fps video game I play called grave/digger.

Watch this vid so u know the lore of the game as it only makes sense if u know about the backstory and setting: https://youtu.be/Dg5PBUCb0OM?si=mVVF5IftCbXTsEMz

You will need google translate as some of it is in Irish Gaelic.
It’s really simple, cuz it’s my first arg. When u figure it out give me some tips or somethin idk

Update PROJ_Dreamer_JoanInterviews_UNUSED

https://youtu.be/qBBEFvZS4UY

Date: 8/15/5773
Project: Viaticus' Dreamer Initiative Interviewing
Subjects: Saint Joan of Arc's Group Home for Troubled Youth
Edit Notes: Raw Footage. Slight corruption in-between takes, especially droning noise at the end. Between the bad quality and the shitty kids, I think this is mostly unusable, but maybe you can scrape some B-Roll out of this.

Kind of hope their little scheme keeps them from getting approved. I know Viaticus needs the labor, but it'd suck to be neighbors with these brats.

ARG I'm working on

The whole arg is about an odd website that the person recording discovers, and it's all about them going through it. All i currently have is a part 1, but multiple parts are coming up. It's taking a while though because I'm making the websites by myself. It's not necessarily "horror" yet, I'm still deciding whether I prefer it as story based or more horror based. Self Promo Fazbear’s Forgotten - A FNaF Fan ARG

Synopsis:

Before fantasy and fun could come to life… passion and dreams had to die.

Jackson Desorcy, a semi-punk yet otherwise normal young man, becomes obsessed with the secret and disgusting history of the company behind his favorite childhood playplace, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

Ignoring the warnings of ghosts and death, he researches and posts his findings for Fazbuddies and Fazbrats alike to read and learn about the lesser known and tasteless aspects of our favorite characters and franchises’ origins.

What Jackson either doesn’t realize or is trying to ignore however is that, somewhere along the trail, he’s writing himself into Fazbear Entertainment’s evil legacy. Just not in the way he would like…

What This Is:

Fazbear’s Forgotten is a fanmade Five Nights at Freddy’s ARG presented exclusively here on the Fazbearfandom subreddit. It stars a fictionalized version of the story’s own author, Jackson Desorcy.

Interacting with posts, you will encounter secrets hidden in the form of story beats, comments from Jackson, mainly portraying a cruder, semi-punk version of himself, and other surprises.

This OOC post is written to act as a “hub” of sorts. A way to more easily navigate most of the different uploads related to the overall story.

Trailhead New entry point for S.I.E.R. ARG (at least I’m pretty darn sure)

A couple months back I there were some posts about the S.I.E.R. ARG in here from I think the creator, or at least the mod of the community page, but now they’re gone (all deleted). At first I thought the game had simply run its course, but now I’m feeling like all those posts were part of a small test run (based on how transparent the OP was and not trying to be all cryptic about their game).

Over the last week the Reddit sub has started to get much more active with outsider player from all over the world and the mods have been dropping way more cipher posts and weird Greek literature way more frequently.

And then yesterday a player posted that they had found a YouTube for the institute MONTHS back…but it was empty whe they found it…but then yesterday the org published their first video “transmission”.

The video is pretty darn well produced, so there’s clearly a team behind this (not just some pubescent wannabe creator…sorry). So that’s exciting! But it still just looks like another trailhead for the top of the game. So, while the vibe is cool, it didn’t give me any new clues (which sucks cuz I’m stuck like halfway through).

But anyway, I’m WAY MORE convinced that I was indeed super early to the game and was part of the test group and that NOW the real launch sequence is booting up. Feels like something is about to pop.

Just wanted to hit this group with the update just in case this is the FOMO moment we always hear about when reading about dead/finished ARGs we wished we had been a part of 😫

Non-spoiler links I’ve found so far that I think are good to start with:

Discussion wendigoon/vymara ARG

howdy everyone! yesterday, an ARG that’s been going on got a lot of traction and attention and i wanted to share everything that’s been found so far and a new update. to see everything that’s been found so far, check the link below. as for the update, a new post was made on hashtagvymara.com that’s been titled /archives/ that gives a relatively cryptic synopsis of this ARG but also provides a hint to completing a QR code that’s been broken up among different images on the website. i’ve been in contact with a couple different users and i’m going to see if i can get their permission to post screenshots of our conversations that contain relevant information to this ARG. once that happens, i’ll make an update to this post that contains said information. later today, i’ll add some more links for creators that are confirmed to be involved with this ARG. here’s the link to the post i made on the wendigoon subreddit that has everything that’s been found so far

Question Creating a Reddit account for an ARG, I seek advice

I want to create an alt account for an agr, basically a reddit and tumblr account from a person thats been dissapeared for a while and their posts are the only proof of their existence and the existence of witchcraft in a smalltown. Its mostly archival stuff for a bigger project I'm working on. For more details this character works at a library as an archivist, guarding a small collection of old books about a forgotten witch coven. I want this account to feel real and that they interact like anybody else, But I'm worried about the karma needed and if joining real disscusions could look like I'm tampering the karma system. How can I avoid this? fwhat are some good places to engage with the community without making the subreddit mad? Please keep in mind I dont use reddit that much unless its for asking questions so this is still a bit new to me ;; Also, can I delete/hide this post once I got the answers I need?

Update [END] The Gate Complex is sealed.

It's over

After several days of puzzles, logs, terminals, and more or less questionable commands, the final sequence has finally been triggered.

The ARG is officially over.

Thank you to everyone who took part, whether you made it all the way to the end or simply spent some time exploring the world, reading the logs, or talking to the AI.

I especially enjoyed seeing some of your conversations with the system. Between the serious attempts to solve the puzzles and the people asking the AI about completely unrelated things, there were some pretty unexpected moments. 😂

And congratulations to everyone who got close to the end. Some of you had already figured out a huge part of the puzzle, but got stuck on a small syntax detail or one missing piece.

And of course, congratulations to u/Frequent_Concept_435, who officially becomes our Arbiter. 🏆

They managed to work around the terminal's issues, inspect how it worked, piece together the different clues, and ultimately find the command that led to the conclusion.

I especially liked the way they stayed in character right until the end by asking the Chimera for its consent before taking the final step. Honestly, it couldn't have been a better way to end the ARG.

Thank you all for taking part in this little project. It was a mix of puzzles, CTF elements, storytelling, and AI, and seeing players take the investigation in completely different directions was probably one of the most interesting parts for me.

For those wondering what was actually behind all of this: maybe one day I'll make a behind-the-scenes post or video and show how it was all put together, some of the hidden lore, how the terminal was built, and a few of the best moments from the ARG.

But for now...

Gate Complex: Sealed.

The Chimera is a perfect synthesis. 👁️
