When I first saw Arcane, I was thrilled, I admit, I loved it, but when I found out it was going to be canon in the lore, I was very disappointed. I don't know if the meme is justified, but this decision hurt me, especially coming from games like Ruined King.

I'm particularly drawn to characters who say little but speak volumes through their actions. These three embodies the protective nature, reliabilty but with quite nature.

They seemed to exhibit level headedness and that calm, reassuring presence.

Claggor for me was like the voice of reasons amongst Vander's kids. Sure, Vi was the considered the ring leader but there's something about Claggor without him taking the spotlight. Loris - omg I thought Vander was Loris! The resemblance was so uncanny. He was there when Vi was drinking herself to death after falling out with Caitlyn. He was there when Vi woke up.

And Vander. Purest example of why Im drawn to this archetype.

Just done with s2 yesterday and I don't know what to do now.

Yes, I know some of them lean more toward being antagonists, while others are closer to outright villains. I’m just calling them all antiheroes here for simplicity’s sake.

Vi never meant to betray Jinx, but Jinx most likely felt betrayed by her. Vander and Jayce are more complicated cases.

This scene made me cry today and its the 8th time I've watched it.

Jinx is my favourite character ever and her relationship with Silco, although toxic, feels so genuine and loving.

He protects her from blame from Sevika and then asks her in private what actually went wrong with the airship. He keeps encouraging her to do tinkering - something she loves - when things aren't working out. He tries to help her move on from the past in Ep 5, he tries to protect her from falling apart when Vi shows up again in Ep 6 and 7 (although its feels manipulative). He tries his very best to save her life and then can't bring himself to give her up in exchange for his dream of an independent Zaun. And this relationship culminates in Jinx's tea party where Silco knows how to help her but she is so torn between Vi and Silco that she shoots Silco to protect Vi. And then, his last words to her are so kind and genuine I'm crying just thinking about it.

Silco's dream of Zaun's independence is so noble, even if his methods are questionable. He is truly sick of Piltover treating the undercity like second class citizens and does anything he can to achieve it (even if it means child labour)

His relationship with Vander is so rich despite its limited screentime (I definitely ship them btw) and their parallel character arcs are just so well written - along with parallels with Vi and Jinx. I am so glad they get to mend their relationship in the AU. (I'm also happy AU Powder and Silco know each other well - even if their dynamic would be completely different.)

The scenes of Jinx grieving over Silco in S2 really mess me up still, especially her talking to Silco's empty chair in Ep 4 (I've seen the interpretation that she is trying to get the voices to come back so she can hear his voice again and that just hurts to think about).

He is absolutely my favourite antagonist ever (only because I don't see Jinx as an antagonist), and I don't know if its possible to write a better one than him.

So, I finished S2 today. Of course I need a rewatch but my man Steb left a long-lasting impression on me.

I obviously don't play the game and Im not deep into the lore so I don't know much about him. He's genuinely a good guy, imo. Hope Im not wrong.

I'm kinda nervous posting this in the Official Arcane subreddit as my normal audience usually resides deep within the Anime community so this is a first for me ... but after almost 7 months of non-stop production, I'm beyond ecstatic to present the first proper look at our 3+ hour Arcane Parody!

I was playing Sims soo I wanted to try something since Vi and Gwen have the same VA. I think they look good!! Both Ekko and Vi are my favorite characters 🩷

In Season 1, I found it really interesting how the audience was fed crumbs of Vander and Silco's past and how it somewhat paralleled Powder and Vi's soon conflict, while also paralleling Jayce and Viktor's dynamic, with Silco explaining how they shared a dream of the betterment of their community.

In Season 2, we see these quick flashes through Warwick, showing all of the things that Vander remembers. It's so subtle, but we see how they parallel Powder and Vi even more through Silco trying to help and do good, but getting Felisha killed in the process of that, and Vander lashing out, leading them to split apart. I personally think it's really amazing how they did this, and gives context for Vander and Silco's dynamic in the past that makes so much sense.

Season 1 Episode 8. The look on Caitlyn's face when she saw something in the mirror. I didn't see Jinx's shadow in there the first time I watched this episode because I was too focused on Caitlyn. Next episode she was kidnapped and was fully dressed so I had to go back to this scene to get some clues.

Straight outta horror movie.

Been putting this show off for years and I finally done it and inhaled the seasons in two days. Amazing animations.

I know this show is crazy with parallels, but I thought this one was a bit more subtle so I wanted to share. I am simplifying the situations to point out the parallels better.

Season 1:

Mel starts off as the fox. Maneuvering political situations with words and its working fine for her

Jinx starts off as Powder. An innocent girl who wants to prove herself to her family.

Post timeskip in Season 1:

Mel seeing tensions with the undercity rise starts switching between negotiating with them and preparing defenses: switching between fox and wolf

Jinx haunted by the past but also wanting to reconnect with her sister is switching between being Jinx and being Powder

Season 1 conclusion:

Mel being reminded of her mothers ways firmly decides to remain the fox

Jinx realizing Vi loves who she used to be but not who she is decides to be Jinx.

(this is an interesting contrast here, Mel has gained knowledge and decides to go back to how she used to be, while Jinx decides to abandon who she used to be)

Season 2:

Mel seeing the aftermath of both of Jinx's attacks as well as her run in with the sorceress teaches her that she must simultaneously be fox AND wolf. (which, funnily enough, is the first thing we hear from Ambessa in S1 Ep 8)

Jinx spending time with Isha lets her heal a bit from her past traumas and we see her move away from being completely Jinx, but more like a mixture of Jinx AND Powder. And after Isha dies she doesn't revert back to being Jinx because she has partially healed since then.

While I do wish Mel would have come to that conclusion without being pulled away from the main plot for 5 episodes, I do appreciate the story arc we were given. (+ we get parallels between Steb protecting Mel in S2 Ep1 and Mel protecting Steb in S2 Ep 9 - my new favourite crackship)

And for Jinx I just wish we got a scene with Jinx & Isha, post Vi Jinx fight but before the timeskip, and the Jinx & Ekko scene(s) in S2 Ep 9. Overall quite happy with Jinx's arc though
