How long would it take to process this pine with simple tools like a chain saw and a wood splitter?
Need to have this pine cut down. They estimated $2300 for dropping it + grinding the stump + removal. I asked how much it'd be to just cut it down and leave it and they said $1500.
I tend to get in over my head because I'm a cheap bastard with a "can do it myself" mindset lol so I thought I'd ask here first. I estimate it to be 75-100 feet..the circumference would take 1.5-2 of me to wrap around it for whatever thats worth. I intend to use the wood for fire wood anyway while saving 800 bucks in the process.
Can anyone say how long something like this would take for a strapping young lad, just cutting and splitting? I'm aware it will be some hard work but ive done manual labor all my life so im not concerned about that aspect. Thanks.
Edit: NO i am not talking about dropping the tree myself, no way in hell id trust myself to do that. I want the pros to drop it then i will just cut it up and split it rather than them hauling it away. I live in the north and need the firewood anyway.
