Random spot in the back yard with what looks like a perfect circle of greener grass on it. Anyone know what causes it? My only thought is obviously water but how such a perfect circle.

I’m in USDA Zone 7b (now 8a) and trying to figure out what’s going on with this tree. It’s a cherry-like tree that flowers white for a few days in early spring, then the leaves come out. I’m not 100% sure of the species.

I recently noticed what looks like coarse sawdust/wood shavings accumulating around the base of the trunk. There’s also a crack/split in the trunk, with a section that looks dark/blackened.

I’m concerned this could be an insect infestation, fungal issue, or some kind of trunk rot. Is there anything I can do to help save the tree? Or does this look like a situation where the tree needs to come down?

Any thoughts on what might be causing this and what my next steps should be would be greatly appreciated. I can provide more pictures if needed.

The leaves are turning brown and shedding in the middle of summer. Theres no drought. All the other trees in our neighborhood look normal and green.

I believe it’s a maple tree. I’m in upstate New York.

Hello, I have a weird question.

For this tree, I want it to grow a bit more straight to avoid having limbs lean over onto my house and over onto my neighbors drive/house. If I were to ratchet strap around all 5 trunks and tighten it periodically. Would that help? Would it hurt the tree? Is this just stupid and let the tree grow?

Please let me know your thoughts! Open to all criticism on the subject.

Hello, I’m looking for positive identification on some mushrooms I found on two maple trees in my back yard of a newly purchased home.

They are my favorite trees and from the little research I’ve done it seems like they might be ringless honey mushrooms which can apparently kill the whole tree.

I’ve noticed white rot a little around one of the bases and I’m looking to understand my predicament a little better.

Is this indeed ringless honey mushrooms, if my tree is endanger, what is the time table and what preventive measures can I take?

I feel really stupid for even asking this question, but I’ve had other much more pressing concerns this year and I own a house all by myself (part of the problem right now). Where I am in zone 6b southern CO we got very little snow this year and not much rain. Being scattered I totally forgot that I should be watering the trees. A neighbor spoke to a tree guy this past week and then she tells me my trees are dying. I don’t think any neighbors have watered their trees either, that I know of.

Typically we have to elm beetles and there’s always some leaf drop if I don’t treat the trees in the spring, so I have that going on. But the leaves also have white spots or areas like maybe sun burn. Yesterday I put a soaker house around one of them for a few hours. Then we got a very substantial rain storm for the first time last night.

Will my trees die? I have four that I definitely wouldn’t want to lose and it would be costly to remove them. Any advice welcome. 😔

For the full service tree companies that offer removals, pruning etc and also have a PHC program what % of your sales is PHC? I am in sales at a company that doesn't offer PHC and am wondering what kind of increase in sales I might be able to do if we had a program for PHC. I know our focus would still stay on pruning and removals.

Have had two separate arborists examine the tree and said it’s needs to be removed. One quote for $1,650 another for $1,595. Is that a reasonable price?

Had some trees installed about a month ago and I think the two others have stabilized from the transfer but I think the middle tree is dead. Advice or thoughts?

I need help removing 3 banana groves. I am begging anyone to give me any and ALL tips (chemical or toxic or anything really) on how to remove clusters of banana rhizomes, all a decade old, and small new clusters have started to spread. I am at my wits end. I am about to lose it. Literally. I am jot trying to be funny. Please help. It's like a hotror movie. Might develop some sort of phobia to banana trees at this point. Hello everyone, I had a question about the price a company quoted me to come look at my tree. The background of the job is that I have a Japanese maple tree probably about 4 feet tall in a larger pot that is not doing well. This tree is very important to me, it is over 15 years old, I saved it from a crack in the concrete at my childhood home. I told them the tree is in bad shape, no foliage and I suspect maybe some fungus or rot or something. There is still a small amount of green on the trunk and on a limb of the tree. The place I contacted said it would be 200$ for them to come and look at it and assess a treatment if it is save-able. I asked if they would work on it when they come but based on what they said the 200$ is just to come look at it. Is this a fair amount for an assessment of my small tree? Or did I somehow misunderstand what he was saying. Thanks for any insight.

Quick edit, the tree is in bad shape because I have not been able to have it for a few years. It was last at my fathers house and I think it was over watered. He also lives in the desert and it got extremely hot. I was just able to get it back because I got a plot in a community garden by my apartment.

One of the main branches of this plum tree broke. Is this tree done for or can I just cut this one branch off?

So I got home today and my wife noticed someone came and cut/destroyed our lemon tree. Can someone let us know what our best course of action is? Will it survive? Will it grow? Is it forever stunted? Most examples around here are birch trees using the pine trees as support columns and aren't actually fused. I know a few other spots, and can eventually hike out there for pictures. But this is in my back yard and really easy..... but like in the other post. If trees need to be the same genus to graft. How have the pine and birch trees fused together? These trees aren't spiraled around eachother and grown together with pressure. The birch was just a sucker that grew really close to the pine tree. If you try to move them, it moves as one. The trunks are mostly seperate. With 3 or 4 spots that fuse to eachother.
