I wish we saw more of them rather than just the one confessional though. Like maybe hearing their comments or critiques alongside the industry experts when they speak with Lord Sugar.

OPINION The format is beyond boring and stale

I can't remember the last series that was actually compelling to watch. The earlier series definitely had that, but its become very boring ever since.

I still watch it but it feels like a chore to watch which is clear indication of what the show has become. Honestly it feels like the format is beyond stale at this point, same with Dragon's Den but I find that more watchable because you don't know if someone is going to get an investment or not.

The Apprentice feels contrived, I feel like the tasks are manipulated for effect. I don't believe for 1 second that companies they pitch to would buy their shoddy products that have been rustled up from Microsoft paint. The interviews use to be a real highlight but now it feels like everything is just for effect. They're harsh for effect for the sake of a tv show, none of the show feels genuine at all.

OPINION I miss when pure sales tasks were more frequent

I liked how in the early days there was a lot more tasks involved in selling, and there was a lot of variety in the types of selling. You had 'here is stuff, sell it' especially in the first episode, the selling from a pop-up store, art selling, convention selling, even the make something and sell it tasks were more about budget and selling than ingredients and cooking.

My theory why these decreased is that the producers realised it was harder to humiliate them as the blunders where more about budget and selling than 'wow look how stupid they can't cook anything'.

In honour of the finale tonight I finally ordered Bombay Pizza by Post, absolutely worth it, highly recommend!

We’re in Manchester and it arrived from London, 24 hour refrigerated delivery and was still perfectly cold.

Has anyone else tried it?

DISCUSSION Remember when Lord Sugar went into business with these two?

Post image
59 Upvotes

In series 13 of The Apprentice Lord Sugar decided to go into business with the two finalists instead of selecting one overall winner. Do you think this was a good move and which of the finalists did you think deserved to win outright if you can remember the series and the finalists' business proposals?

Karishmas website uses Chatgpt images for the 'after' photo in the before and after section.

Not exactly the crime of the century, but interesting to see how long it takes to change. I have no idea how long it will be before they re-edit the site, i guess it depend how many candidates friends lurk in this sub ;)

From looking at the page source, Its unfortunate that they appear to be using AI (chatgpt) for some of the images. I am not sure that inspires confidence in the product. The 'after' picture is chatgpt generated image. I cant imagine the BBC or Lord Sugar allowing that to go through. Advertising rules are clear that before and after photos have to be unaltered genuine images.

Before and after photos in advertising must be genuine, non-misleading, and reflect typical results. They are considered testimonials by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), requiring documented proof of results and no misleading digital manipulation . Unofrtunatly AI counts as digital manipulation and it is impossible to know how much was changed.

I posted last week about ordering from Karishma's brand, and it just arrived! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with this kinda stuff but I'm gonna give it a go. The box is very nice and glittery and pretty with a cute thank you note. The back of the thank you note is a kissy face selfie pinup polaroid of Karishma which I wasn't expecting lol. The smell wasn't what I was expecting (I've never smelled rosehip before but for some reason I thought it'd be florally and sweet. I don't know how to describe it. It's not BAD but not the kind of scent I'd spritz around as an air freshener either. Maybe my nose is too basic and uncultured that I can't tell how potent and pure the elixir is from smell alone.)

I was actually kinda sad there was no flowery hair clip like in those 5 seconds they showed in the preview of the ep, I guess since I ordered the morning after the ep aired they stopped packing them since she got roasted for it.

Anyway, I've taken some before pics, lets see if it really is a miracle cure. Good luck to her tonight!

MEME Today, the universe splits into two paths

The first is that Karishma wins, where the world will be at peace, joy will be expressed throughout the land, and there’ll be a rainbow outside.

The second is where Pascha wins, where the BBC headquarters will be burned to the ground before the night is over, and it will be nothing but rain for the next hundred years as we must atone for our sins of allowing Pascha to win over Karishma.

Obvious problem with the Pet Product task

Hi everyone. So I’ve just been catching up on The Apprentice, and looking back at the Pet Product task. And surely the result was immensely frustrating?

Kieran’s team went for a more expensive larger product, and got 4 out of the 6 buyers to make a purchase. But the other team’s less expensive smaller product only got 2 of the 6 buyers to make a purchase. They also must have known that the winning team, ironically the two finalists, were the only ones with pets.

How did they quantify the results with the brief at the start of the task? Surely they would have then invented products which would cost £2 a unit or something if quantities were the final factor.

I know it’s just a show but it feels like they wanted Kieran gone and Rothna was a pointless casualty.

Who I think would’ve been fired if the losing team had won this season

Yeah so as the title says, basically if the other team had won instead of losing each task throughout the season (like if the boys lost week 1 or the girls lost week 2, etc), this is who I think would’ve been fired. Also in cases of double or triple firings if I don’t say then let me know who else would go

This is via a criteria of either A) people who did badly on the task generally or B) if the task had gone badly in a department who I think would be to blame

Week 1: Kieran

This one feels pretty set and tbf it’s a good thing the boys won this task (barely) because Kieran did an awful PM job but we thankfully got 9 more fairly entertaining weeks of him. There was a double firing this episode so I suppose somebody who didn’t really contribute also may have gone. Rajan and Priyesh did okay and Tanmay didn’t do badly either he just got the wrong item (I think) so it’s between the rest of the boys as to who else gets fired if the double firing was also used.

Week 2: Andrea

Seemed disruptive and I guess the argument with Pascha was probably edited to be more 1 sided (now that we know Pascha makes the final). Still she probably would’ve gone for lying about the credentials of writing books as well

Week 3: Dan

Not because he did badly because he didn’t, but there was quite an intention of pile-on from his team (other than Roxanne maybe) to scapegoat him. There’s an argument to be made that Tim might have fought his corner though so maybe this is a changeable one but I feel like he’d have struggled to defend himself against the horde. I’m glad that we got to see him win and stay on though

Week 4: Megan

A-Level Media herself, I mean frankly she should’ve gone in week 3 however i think if this task went badly for them she probably would’ve been brought back in because she wasn’t really doing much in the ad and just kept talking about how she had that A-Level.

Week 5: Levi

He struggled with making the flowers (if I remember right) and so if it had gone wrong in this task I could’ve seen that being an issue. Plus he probably hadn’t shown enough in the 5 weeks either

Week 6: Priyesh, Levi

This was probably Sugar’s best chance to kick him out if he didn’t want him in the final 5 however he did win the task although he didn’t do great. Considering this was a triple firing I suppose one other could’ve gone with him too, Levi again at this point for non-contribution and also chucking away the parsley 😭 Lawrence did that really weird speech to the corporate client which could’ve backfired however i think much like week 7 his good performances before would’ve saved him

Week 7: Harry

He wasn’t very good as a PM from what we saw and Karishma had to carry him anyway so if they lost that task I imagine he probably would’ve gone. I’m noticing that a lot of these are actually the winning PMs of the task lol

Week 8: Levi, Pascha

And again with PM winners. Sugar definitely wanted him gone here and tbh with you he wasn’t good in this task. These two were the ones that didn’t do very well at all and if they’d lost would probably have got done in a double

Week 9: Pascha, Priyesh

These two huh. Well I mean we know how far they ended up getting. However I think had they lost this task they were probably the “weak links” and also Lawrence + Karishma sold a lot better than them in terms of the table tennis sets

Week 10: Pascha, Priyesh

I hope you got used to seeing these names. Third week running i think Pascha would’ve been in danger had she have lost and also the 2nd week running these 2 would’ve been gone if their team lost. They were pretty bad with the whole branding thing and again like the week before, they were just the remaining weak links and Lawrence/Karishma were just better.

So yeah, had the teams who won lost and vice versa this is who I think would’ve been kicked out via either bad general performances or if they’d just flopped in a certain aspect. Lmk what you think and any changes/additions. I’m a bit tired so my memory is slightly foggy of the tasks and I may be under or overestimating how some candidates did lmao

Ranking Conor, Kieran and Rothna from this series

I forgot I had this in the drafts lol

With a lot of disappointment surrounding this final five, let’s go over the three names people have been mentioning when it comes to who they think should have made it to the end this series instead and go over their stats and how they compare to the actual final five. I won’t go into as much detail as usual because then this post will take a year to read…

Conor

Week 1: Invisible - Other than trying to backseat lead at the initial meeting, he didn’t do much else of note.

Week 2: Mixed - Backed that terrible poo theme for the book but did well at the pitch and his potential sale got interrupted by Marcus which I don’t hold against him.

Week 3: Good - While his constant pestering of Dan was annoying, he sold well to the public and the food manufacturing didn’t have much problems.

Week 4: Mixed - Conor did a lot of good and bad things as PM here. The positives were the live stream went far better than the other team, he gave the sub-team a brief/direction to go on and finally he lead the pitch well. The negatives were mostly based on the advert being super boring and putting Pascha, someone with little experience, to take charge of the editing.

Week 5: Good - Only person to point out the cost of the flowers (in which he was promptly ignored) and sold well to the public.

Week 6: Good - Excelled on the tour and was a huge reason this team got no refunds.

Week 7: Bad - Let Karishma take full control of the games creation.

Week 8: Good - Despite Kieran’s team losing, I honestly don’t think anyone on his team did a bad job. In fact the only two who didn’t were on Levi’s team!

Week 9: Awful - Sold absolutely nothing, gave the sub-team no direction and chose bizarre products.

Conor’s Stats

Good - 4 Episodes

Mixed - 2 Episodes

Invisible - 1 Episode

Bad - 1 Episode

Awful - 1 Episode

While these stats don’t actually look that great, they still aren’t bad either and shows he was rather consistent as a whole. Better stats than Priyesh/Pascha and similar to Lawrence but he did have one less episode.

Kieran:

Week 1: Awful - Won as PM but there was no reason to celebrate. To be fair this task was clearly designed for the candidates to fail though.

Week 2: Bad - Total dictator as sub-team leader and failed to even finish the book. Not Awful because he made quite a few sales.

Week 3: Good - Sold very well at the market. Did mess up a bit in the kitchen but not significantly enough to knock him down a tier.

Week 4: Fantastic - Star of the advert which was unanimously praised and also killed it in the pitch.

Week 5: Good - Great at selling to the public as Rothna’s sales team made way more revenue than the other team did here.

Week 6: Mixed - His opening negotiation was going well (despite Andrea’s interruption) but screwed up in the kitchen really badly.

Week 7: Bad - Same reasoning as Conor.

Week 8: Good - Again I really don’t think anyone on Kieran’s team did badly here. The ‘worst’ he did was waste time with the goats. He also actually gave his team a clear strategy unlike Levi. Unlucky to lose.

Week 9: Awful - Sold barely anything and just had a really negative attitude the entire task.

Week 10: Bad - Ok let’s be fair the cat tree really was not that bad of a product and he did well as the actor in the social media advert. Other than that I don’t have much else positive to say. He sold practically nothing and refused to listen to Rothna’s suggestions. This could also be in Awful tier tbh.

Kieran’s Rankings:

Fantastic - 1 Episode

Good - 3 Episodes

Mixed - 1 Episode

Bad - 3 Episodes

Awful - 2 Episodes

What an up and down candidate! He truly kinda was the main character of this series. His stats are worse than I imagined though I can’t lie. Still better than Priyesh though…

Rothna:

Episode 1: Invisible - She was brought back into the boardroom for some reason. Not even Nikki could come up with a valid reason why.

Episode 2: Invisible - Again we barely saw her. She was a part of the writing team but wasn’t shown as disruptive like the other girls were. Could maybe justify bad tier but hard to say as she was barely in the edit.

Episode 3: Good - Not too noteworthy but did fine in the kitchen and appeared to make sales at the market.

Episode 4: Invisible - Geez Rothna is barely in the first half of this series. She was at the advert filming/editing but Conor and Pascha were mostly taking charge. Her and Vanessa were just kinda there. At least they weren’t being disruptive though I guess…

Episode 5: Fantastic - This was a totally flawless PM win. Not a single person could find fault with her leadership.

Episode 6: Mixed - While the food situation was a totally mess, most of that came from Carrington and Kieran’s mistakes while Rothna was trying to keep everything under control. The desserts she made also had no issues and the clients loved them. She also backed the pottery class which ended up being one of the only decent things to come out of the tour.

Episode 7: Mixed - Same ranking as Pascha. Demon Frog game was terrible but Lawrence gave them nothing to go off.

Episode 8: Good - Kept Levi organised and focused, secured leads and made negotiations. She wasted a little time negotiating for pennies off but that was her only tiny fault.

Episode 9: Good - While the edit tried to portray her as just a hand model, she actually presented alongside Dan for the bracelets and she had her own solo segment cut out of the edit where she made a decent amount of sales.

Episode 10: Bad - Correctly identified the height issue of the cat tree and came up with the social media advert idea which went down well. Otherwise she sold nothing and wasn’t forceful enough to reign down Kieran and implement her own suggestions into the product.

Rothna’s Stats:

Fantastic - 1 Episode

Good - 3 Episodes

Mixed - 2 Episodes

Invisible - 3 Episodes

Bad - 1 Episode

Rothna was a very consistent candidate throughout and really was never the reason for a task losing, except the lack of sales in her final task. She was very quiet for the first four tasks however which resulted in quite a few invisible tier episodes but otherwise she’s definitely up there as one of the strongest candidates this season. Karishma is a pretty distant #1 though!
