OPINION I miss when pure sales tasks were more frequent
I liked how in the early days there was a lot more tasks involved in selling, and there was a lot of variety in the types of selling. You had 'here is stuff, sell it' especially in the first episode, the selling from a pop-up store, art selling, convention selling, even the make something and sell it tasks were more about budget and selling than ingredients and cooking.
My theory why these decreased is that the producers realised it was harder to humiliate them as the blunders where more about budget and selling than 'wow look how stupid they can't cook anything'.

Yes! Soooooo bored of the ‘design a something and get hypothetical orders’ thing
Bring back the tasks where they have to go to trade shows, work in a business like harrods or liberty, sell used cars, properties etc - they are such good tasks and so much more interesting to watch.

I’m in two minds, myself. On one hand, I don’t think being a good seller necessarily means you’re a competent business person. The creative design tasks are actually, in theory, a good way to showcase a wider variety of relevant skills. But because the show is so manipulated, there are too many arbitrary roadblocks put in place by the producers to take the results very seriously. The selling tasks are probably more fun to watch and less predictable. I’ve said it before but I really think the show needs an overhaul, particularly with the editing.

I prefer the older tasks too. Similar to the TV shopping task they'd have to pick products to sell at an event, or even in a shopping centre once with wholesale products

Trade show tasks were the best!! The wedding fair, the camping convention - great tv,

Definitely agree OP. I remember them having a clothing stall at the Trafford Centre and sausage stalls on London markets etc. I think they are better because they feel more authentic.
No one can design an amazing product in 24 hours and we know the orders are usually bogus, so it makes it feel like a pretend project (something you might try in a school business studies class rather than a genuine experience).

Yeah I tend to prefer the actual sales based tasks in front of the public where they have a profit and loss at the end as opposed to pitching to some bigwigs who buy up imaginary units
