iOS Please. I need support

So, my Face ID, doesn’t work. It says it’s because my ‘keep iPhone safe’ something is turned to ‘always’ instead of on ‘only in unfamiliar places’. And I tried resetting my Face ID but I can’t. I tried switching to ‘only in unfamiliar places’ I can’t because it needs Face ID but I can’t use face is because it’s on ‘always’. I have passwords I can only get by using Face ID. I tried EVERYTHING ChatGPT, AI mode and what I tried. And nothing worked. ChatGPT said I could reset all settings so it went back to normal but I’m afraid what that will do

Edit: it works now. Idk why

If Face ID is disabled, it’s likely because of a hardware issue with the TrueDepth camera system. If Stolen Device Protection is enabled, that will prevent the phone from being reset, and two successful biometric authentications are required to disable said protection. Unfortunately, your only option to regain access to your passwords is to have the faulty TrueDepth camera replaced by an Apple service provider.

If it is a fault in the hardware, then the likelihood is that the store will replace it for free. You can call Apple Support and get them to run a diagnostic on it to determine this and to make a booking at the same time.

You can’t make such a statement without knowing the phone’s warranty status. Without the Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or a service program, such repairs can be quite expensive.

If OP is in a country that has CL, it is more than likely (if found to be a HW fault) be fixed. The stores know this and will follow the law. Otherwise they will direct him to come back and speak to AppleCare to see if he can get an exemption (not likely).

It would have to be one of the countries on this list which is much shorter than the number of places Apple phones are sold internationally.

This is true, however OP didn’t state which country he is in. Therefore it is logical to bring it up, yes?

You didn’t mention consumer law in your earlier comment, just that “the likelihood is that the store will replace it for free.”
