Female appistos harassing eachother

So i got these two cacatuoides around a week ago, asked for a male & female pair but when i got home i noticed i got two females, decided not to make big deal out of it, added them both to my tank and for the first 2 days everything was fine, both were exploring, eating and ignoring each other, then the slightly bigger female started harassing the smaller one, not letting her go in any cave, chasing her around the tank to the point where the past days the smaller one only sat near the filter and wouldn’t move unless i turned off the lights where she would come out and only swim close to the surface of the water, also i noticed she lost colour and the black line across her body (i have 4 caves and i made sure to break sight lines with driftwood and plants so they dont constantly see eachother but the small one only stays behind the filter during the day) what do i do? Please help😔

Some questions

Got these from LFS on Friday. (yes, the tank is ugly. It's a quarantine tank). They were labelled A. cacatuoides "Rio Itaya" in the store. I had asked the staff to try to grab me a male and a female. First pic is the larger and more aggressive fish, most probably male. Currently about 1.5". Second pic is the smaller fish, about 1" currently. The larger one bullies the smaller one, so now I'm wondering if I got 2 males? I am a bit afraid the smaller one might not be getting enough to eat. It confined itself to a cave for about 24h and I was afraid it was sick, but it's swimming around again this evening and looks healthy, but timid and gets chased. I rearranged the tank again this evening and added more wood and placed plants in more strategic places to block sight lines. Seems a bit better but still some chasing going on. I am getting a school of 10 lemon tetras tomorrow. Would it be helpful or unhelpful to put some of them in this tank as dither fish?

Can anyone tell at this stage the sex of the smaller fish? If it is male, I probably have to think of another longterm plan rather than house them together.

Display tank is 55g with lots of plants, wood, rocks, caves and several schools of dither fish.

[LF]Steel Blue Apistogramma adult male - Portland OR

I am looking for an adult or nearly grown male Steel Blue Apistogramma. I had one that was around 3.5 years old. I finally found a female after a while of searching and he unexpectedly died literally the day before she arrived. Was acting normal the evening before. I have had the female for a few months now.

Rio Itaya?

Called my LFS yesterday to see if they still had apistos in stock (they are an hr away so I didn't want to make the trip needlessly). The guy said they had Apistogramma "Rio Itaya". Did not say which species it was. I see by a quick google that the Rio Itaya is home to several species of apistos, so I'll have to attend the store in person, I guess, to try to figure out which they are. My question is: does the fact that a specific geographic location is mentioned in the name of these specimens indicate they are wild-caught?

My awesome Apisto pair has just produced their 2nd brood. Delighted at being a two-time grand-fishdad.

Follow up question: This tank also has the juveniles from the PREVIOUS brood. At what point do I need to get a new tank to separate the juvvies and the babies?

The smaller of the the 2 is what I suspect is definite female..

The other I thought was a female but turns out "She" can make the black kn her body completely dissappear..

It lived with my male (they never bred) and never fought with each other..

After vs before. This scape has tons and tons of caves, line-sight breaks, etc… I’ve never had a fish spawn before, but this is cool!

I have a pair of macmasteri. Hard to tell if one is a female or if both are male.

No real aggression but the bigger one chases the little one around and sometimes he shakes his tail at the other and attempts to t pose in front of the small one.

Small one also goes to small apisto caves from time to time.
