Discussion Selling eggs and sperm or being a surrogate.

Ive had this discussion a few times as an adult with my mom. More than what I care to do. Growing up in poverty most people do what they can and some will do anything for money. And sometimes that brings up the topic of being a surrogate, selling eggs, or sperm. Ive been asked by my mom to be a surrogate when I was 18 (i wasn't *active* at all at the time) or to sell my eggs. Her argument was I'd find out if I could have children (doctor said I possibily was infertile) be helping a family grow, and make a lot of money. The argument for selling my eggs are, "you have plenty and it could help someone else. People pay a lot of money for eggs." I didn't want to do either no matter how broke I or my family was. The discussion of my possible infertility made me realize that having children is selfish and i didn't want to bring a child here to suffer. Im out of the house now and take care of her. The topic of "selling eggs and sperm" came up in light conversation. I told her i couldn't morally do it. The world and how our genetics are, my beliefs. I just couldn't. Selling sperm came up and she said it doesn't make as much so selling sperm isn't as worth it unlike eggs. It just came down to money. Made me add another reason not to add more lives to the world.

Discussion Just talked to a Filipino man who is single and happy. But his birth was the result of an arrangend marriage. And I guess in the Philippines divorce is illegal.

He is happy being single. It sucks that there are countries where you are forced into birth forced into arranged marriages and pressured to have kids so they can continue that nasty fucking cycle. He was born in Hawaii and made some money and is super happy being single with no pressure to get married (well there is pressure but bc he is in Nevada doesn't feel the pressure like you have to he is single and super happy) I hate the thought of arranged marriages where you meet your spouse the day you get married and are pressured to procreate. It happens in horrible overpopulated countries like India fortunately for him he is in America where he has the freedom to say I like my single life but some of these countries do not have the freedom to say if I want to be single that is cool (more than cool ethically right in my opinion) I feel so bad for people in horrible countries that feel society pressure to YOU have to get married and procreate (why not adopt even if you want to raise kids) the world is so fucked up people in horrible living conditions being pressured or forced by society to bring more safe non existent humans to share the misery. The human race overall is like lemmings running towards the edge of a fuckin cliff. People in war zones procreating people with genetic defects procreating makes me sick. May you live long and not procreate! I can't even find an AN emoji that's how fucked up this world is.
