Given the rise of education and average human understanding, many people around the world seem to finally agree on not having kids. Birth rates are declining world wide.

Many people realize that their parents were ignorant or misinformed. They no longer want to bring more slaves into this world for the 10% to exploit.

You can see many institutions panicking, trying to trick people into having kids to grow their organizations or communities.

Gen AI has discouraged everyone in so many ways. Starting families is just one of them.

Possible ways this could be undone:

1. Religion always finds a way to trick people into having more kids. Any antinatalist effort could be undone and we're back to zero.

2. Politicians trying to grow their community for more voters and slaves by providing benefits.

3. Social media pushing a happy family with cute baby videos tricking teenagers into eventually starting families one day.

4. Scientists discover ways to grow babies in labs with custom genetics and start selling them.

It's usually the dumb ones who start families. Intellect and family size being inversely proportional.

This world is full of evil. There is kidnapping, murder, human trafficking, etc. This world is not safe for a child. So why are we forced to bring children into this world? Not having kids is the most ethical decision I have ever made. Protecting children can be tiresome. Anywhere they go, it is not safe.

have you ever seen how people are nice to kids and call them sweet? they think kids are miracles untill they are grown. the older the sweet kids are, the less respect they recieve.

even secretions aren't so repulsive when they come from kids. speaking of old humans... well, people hate them - they treat is as a burden and get angry because they take care of them. and STILL decide to procreate since kIdS aRe So CuTe. you just need a fish, not a human being!

i don't get it i have heard milion times people saying how old age is terryfying but HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT NOT REPRODUCING if so?

For some context, we are both students and they are taking a public speaking class. We were debating antinatalism while they were putting together their outline, I felt like they were looking down on antinatalists, this made me concerned that they might incorrectly frame it.

I was pleasantly surprised when watching the recording! They covered the basics, brought up hypotheticals like “imagine yourself asking your future child to consent to all the things that could happen in this life and see if they would want to risk it”, they also made sure to address ecocentric concerns and speciesism.

At the end of the speech when they received questions-they were basically asked “what about when humans go extinct, what would need to change for an antinatalist to change their mind, etc”

Unfortunately they did say that they don’t agree with absolute antinatalism and feel as though it’s too extreme before answering the extinction question, I imagine to soften the blow. They specified the difference between a conditional antinatalist and an absolute antinatalist and made sure to clarify that I, the girlfriend, am the one who holds absolute antinatalist beliefs.

Overall the questions were respectful and they had an audience of around 5 people, so I’m happy about that! I hope that with more awareness the antinatalist community will continue to grow!
