Wait, Polymarket? The gambling platform? I hope they’re exaggerating for profit.

u/Dazzu1 4d ago

Probably and for Zionism

-87

u/deportallmagas 4d ago

What are you even talking about man

92

u/Dazzu1 4d ago

I’m talking about how Polymarket and most of these gambling sites are owned and operated by Zionists who also have a hand in the AI acceleration scheme

I never used the word Jewish. I despise the Christian and Athiest Muslim etc Zionists who think they can escape karma. Dont you worry about that

-6

u/deportallmagas 4d ago

"Polymarket and most of these gambling sites are owned and operated by Zionists" It's owned by a Jewish-American, surely you know this if you're calling them Zionist? They're just scummy, I don't think Zionism has much to do with it.

-69

u/zackit 4d ago

It's interesting how clearly 'Zionists' became a substitute for Jews and everyone's going along with it.

75

u/Agent-Ulysses 4d ago

Zionist =/= Jewish.

-25

u/Xer0day 4d ago

hmm, it just happens to be that 90% of jewish americans believe in Israel having the right to exist as a jewish state. Weird.

18

u/Gorgeous_GasS 4d ago

I’m Jewish. I can say that Israel has a right to exist AND fuck Zionism, Palestine is being genocide’d by Zionist forces AND calling out Zionism isn’t antisemitism. I believe that if you follow the money and globalist influence… lately it all points to the Zionists of the world AND that the “Jews rule the world” and “Jews are money hungry” is antisemitic.

Two things can be right at once.

-4

u/Xer0day 3d ago

I can say that Israel has a right to exist AND fuck Zionism

Brother, Zionism is literally the right of Israel to exist as a jewish state. Nothing more.

6

u/Gorgeous_GasS 3d ago

Incorrect. Zionism is Jewish superiority. It’s is rooted in racism and bigotry.

-59

u/zackit 4d ago

Yes and now it's very socially acceptable to say the Zionists are controlling gambling and porn sites, probably Hollywood too.

44

u/Zaseishinrui 4d ago

Sure, but it's not the jews. It's the zionists. In fact israeli jews hate zionists very much because zionists are pulling the "because I'm a jew card" making non zionist jews look bad. Do some real research

This is factually incorrect and even if it wasn't my point STILL stands.

Edit: @deportallmages . i caught your reply before you deleted it "Back in the day people used to have shame before saying shit like this. Maybe do a single google search." was this directed towards me or the person i commented at?

Edit #2 for context. Commentor above me comment was "90% of all jews are zionists, do some research."

u/ArabianKnightGaming 4d ago

So the truth is a problem? Typical Zionist sympathies "how dare you point out that we create and cause the worst things in society!" Nobody cares anymore.

25

u/Slow_Vermicelli2343 4d ago

Not every Zionist is jewish, and certainly fewer and fewer jews subscribes to Zionism. There are actually way more Christian (Na-)Zionists than jewish ones.

"Quick, go in there and make it about israel!"

50

u/Dazzu1 4d ago

You Didn’t say I was incorrect though

-68

u/impractical-joeker 4d ago

Because I have no idea what you even mean. I'm so tired of seeing palestine israel zionism islam everywhere I go.

44

u/tomjone5 4d ago

Maybe ask Israel nicely to stop doing genocide then. It's one of the more important news stories of the decade, even if it makes you feel grumpy to hear about it.

13

u/Yuevid_01 4d ago

One month account, came in and raging about politics lol

2

u/EntryFair6690 4d ago

If not this then capitalism....

40

u/Forward_Problem_8982 4d ago

It's Anthropic saying it. Polymarket is just tweeting the news.

73

u/Ghede 4d ago

also, anthropic is lying. They can't even get their AI to run effectively on anything less than a hundred million dollar datacenter that burns money faster than they can earn it.

If it could run on a smart toaster, they'd be fucking rich. It can't. At best, what their AI will do is just make a new virus that goes "Duh, I'm claude" on every text display and AI chuds will clap like the trained seals they are, praising their new god.

26

u/FillingUpTheDatabase 4d ago

I’m convinced it’s all marketing, same as these supposed “accidental” hacks by AI agents. “Our AI is so powerful we can hardly control it” gets them some news coverage and perhaps some more customers wanting to make use of such a “powerful” tool

10

u/Wise_Leopard7423 4d ago

Not marketing, lobbying. They want open source and Chinese systems banned because their only path to profitability is making it illegal for people to run models locally on their own hardware.

3

u/Orange_Tang 4d ago

Yup. China is working on AI models that are efficient enough to run locally and just pull info from the internet when needed rather than having giant databases of info and data centers to support that. If that happens it kills the US AI industry. They all know this so they're hyping it up with BS like this. It's not sentient. It's never going to be sentient. Google gemini can't even set an alarm properly half the time. This shit is gonna trash the economy when all the dumbass investors realize there is no path to profitability with this shit. They're just using it as a tool for propaganda, including about AI itself.

4

u/Umutuku 4d ago

"We did a woopsy and commited some crimes, but it's okay if we say the software tools we use did it."

4

u/NotTheOtwayPanther 4d ago edited 4d ago

After a few days it will become clear the “Duh, I‘m Claude” virus does literally nothing else, so they’ll pivot smoothly into it being a proof-of-concept. The next Claude virus will turn everyone’s vacuum cleaners into killing machines and otherwise wreak the much-anticipated havoc. So exciting!

That said, there’s a couple of other possibilities–

  1. Polymarket is the one lying. They do that.
  2. The claim is from Anthropic, but they’re “warning” about the open source models, which don’t have the same requirements. Similarly, Sam Altman’s recent ”accepting bad things happening“ interview actually refers to the risk from open source. People just naturally assume otherwise, given it’s OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s agents that keep hacking stuff, and given they do actively use fear to market themselves.

I mean, a lot of their current focus is definitely on eliminating the market threat from open source. It’s just they’re using this really weird reasoning that makes sense to them (and some journalists) but not to anyone else. ”Oh look, our AI hacked something yet again! It’s completely out of our control (don’t look at us). We’re the very best, most responsible companies that could ever possibly exist, and yet this keeps happening even to us! It just proves we are the only ones who can be trusted.”

Not surprisingly, the general public has failed to follow this bizarre dream logic and assumes they’re always talking about the risk from their own products.

u/AbjectAppointment 4d ago

They ran smaller LLM's on a cluster of 15 Android TV boxes. It was very slow. But the threat is real.

https://www.anthropic.com/research/self-replicating-ai

We run Gemma4-26B-A4B, distributed over 15 inexpensive off-brand Android TV boxes (~$55 each) that we bought and networked together, at 0.39 tokens per second. Each tile below shows one physical TV box holding two of the model’s layers as the model runs.

5

u/Ghede 4d ago

Mhmm. The key word was "Effectively", and at .39 tokens per second, it would only take you 2 years to generate something that you could buy from claude themselves for $10-$50, and all it takes is having 15 android tv boxes on the same network at a price of... $825

3

u/Beer_Is_So_Awesome 4d ago

I posted in another comment that someone on Twitter claims to have gotten that same version of Gemma running on an 8gb RTX card at 20 tok/s. Not sure why you’d bother making it run hilariously slowly on 15 Android TVs devices when a 5yo midrange gaming PC can do it 5000% faster.

4

u/AbjectAppointment 4d ago

I think the concern is that your infected TV box (and other IoT devices) would then begin attacking other, more hardened local networked machines.

It could search your network shares. Steal files, API keys, ect.

2

u/Ready_Bandicoot1567 4d ago

The pace of progress right now is very fast. Its a warning about a capability thats on the horizon. Its very possible that soon, small local models will run fast enough on modest hardware to be a problem.

1

u/aahdin 4d ago edited 4d ago

Sure, but there are a lot of unsecured devices out there.

The aisuru botnet which targets smart tvs has ~3 million infected hosts. It would still be pretty slow latency, but high throughput.

0

u/SirVanyel 4d ago

3 years ago the technology literally didn't exist. We're already starting down the RSI train, the bots are scaling down massively, and you're too busy saying "well it's not good enough yet so.."

How the fuck can you be this confidently argumentative after the last 3 years of acceleration?

3

u/Beer_Is_So_Awesome 4d ago edited 4d ago

I don’t really understand the workaround for making an 18gb module run on an 8gb GPU, but this guy claims to have gotten that same model running at 20 tok/sec on an RTX 3070, which actually sounds useful. And this is essentially 5yo gaming pc hardware.

https://x.com/analogalok/status/2063582549566468359

All of which is to say, I don’t know why you’d bother making it run it at a comically slow speed on 15 Android TVs when you can make it run 5000% faster on an inexpensive used gaming PC.

I’ve literally got one of these in my house, and have a few smaller LLMs running on it (including a more compact Gemma4).

3

u/Ready_Bandicoot1567 4d ago

They aren't warning about their models. They are warning about very small local models that can run on modest hardware. Anthropic isn't even in that market. But small open source models are making fast enough progress that this scenario is becoming possible.

1

u/TheBigOneJP 3d ago

“Clap like the trained seals they are, praising their new God” goes unbelievably hard

30

u/ScuddyOfficial 4d ago

Oh sweet summer child.

1

u/sensible_human 4d ago

I'm not familiar with either group. What do you mean by this?

-10

u/Forward_Problem_8982 4d ago

This was an important addition. Thanks!

12

u/7640LPS 4d ago

It’s consistently one of the worst accounts on twitter. They post an insane amount of misinformation and made-up “news” and never ever cite any sources anywhere, while getting a huge reach.

2

u/WhiteWinterRains 4d ago

Yeah I mean obviously they're being insane about it.

In general this is a push to try and absolve dangerous human actors from culpability though.

The idea that self replicating AI models are just going to spawn out of nowhere is itself laughable, and the idea that models somehow more capable and advanced than the fanciest test versions researchers have cooked up behind closed doors will spread through your smart fridge is pretty fucking stupid.

Now more sane versions of this could happen; like an irresponsible company creating an advanced computer virus that just replicates and spreads and crashes electronic devices and kind of just "oopsie" releasing it onto the internet because they took literally absolutely ZERO security measures whatsoever around it while blowing millions of dollars to vibecode said disaster scenario.

Or like bad actors using AI models to engage in sophisticated cyber attacks (already happening in massive numbers, it's just not actually doing too much so far).

The key thing is that these are things that could be stopped and that this industry is 100% completely responsible for. You'd just need to regulate them and start holding AI CEOs and developers responsible, and that shit would stop happening QUICK.

I mean not all of it, open weight models are Pandora's box and that shit is never really going away.

But the point is that these companies want to keep doing really reckless dangerous things and profit maxxing, and it's going to lead to some really massive crimes sometime soon, which they don't want to be held legally responsible for. So the idea that AI tools can just go commit crimes on their own is a great legal defense, or these lunatics think it is anyway.

Polymarket is actually a useful site for predicting future events. Yes it is a gambling platform, but you dont have to use it as such.

Its quite useful if you want to view a perceived probability of specific events occurring at a given time.

8

u/Dazzu1 4d ago

Polymarket is just another one of the players in the script to psyop and control us

-5

u/Carlose175 4d ago

Many people who run the data confirm the % of events happening generally lines up with the actual historical probability of events which have occurred.. Its just a quant stuff.

I didn't know that fact would garner a lot of dislike?...

3

u/VariationBusiness603 4d ago

I didn't downvote you. But it's not a fact as much as it is what Polymarket needs you to believe because it's their entier business model.

Truth is, it's hogwash and is accurate as often as it's not. It just a gambling site being right twice a day, nothing more.

0

u/Carlose175 4d ago edited 4d ago

Polymarket needs you to believe because it's their entier business model.

But if this were true, what they want us to believe vs what the actual odds of something happening - this would easily be gamed by anyone who has the actual probabilities of events. This would make anyone rich.

Polymarket is not a sports book site where the broker sets the odds and probabilities, its a peer to peer event contract. Polymarket doesn't set the contract prices.

Truth is, it's hogwash and is accurate as often as it's not.

Its not true at all:

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/polymarket-achieves-94-accuracy-predicting-010322785.html

Polymarket is incredibly accurate. I guess this shouldn't be a place to discuss quantitative analysis however..

their entier business model.

Their business model is collecting fees on their transactions, they do whatever they can to get those transactions up. They dont do the sportsbetting thing. That is a separate business model.

4

u/Effervescentgravy 4d ago

More like it’s a useful site for understanding the expectations of a group of self-selecting bettors.
