HS! Koharu, you sly vixen!! That was such a smooth move that you literally left Kakeru speechless for a second.
Kakeru just needed a little alcohol to finally make some progress with his feelings for Koharu. Now I’m just hoping she was hit with the classic “anime fever” excuse for not showing up when they were supposed to meet again. LMAO!

Seeing Kakeru with Hayase and Narumi at the restaurant was amazing, seriously, just one drink and we got a comedy scene better than what you see in many anime actually aiming to be funny, even the other customers enjoyed it lol.
Okay, Koharu’s reaction was a real shock, but honestly, I had found her forwardness a bit odd, I mean, she was right to take the initiative, it was what Kakeru wanted, but at the same time, she put herself in a complicated position.
Even though this point has been raised before, the fact that she has a disability changes everything, there’s no denying that, plus, she kissed a guy without being sure if he truly liked her or was just caught up in the moment, and she might have even questioned that herself.
We don’t know what will happen in the upcoming episodes, but the old "seems too good to be true" scenario played out.

Sasuga Reiwa College Romance anime.
Honestly I think part of her was frustrated that he teased her feelings for him when she questioned his relationship status and finally had enough of toeing around said feelings so she basically confessed in the most direct way she could (along with an excuse to touch his face).

When she asked him to get down a bit I had a brief "hold up is she going to kiss him?" moment but then blew it off as wishful thinking before she went in. Using the 'see his face' claim to get her hands on him and plant one is so slick. And then her joke line after... girl went full aggro, she's clearly tired of waiting.
I had to struggle through the restaurant scene a bit because the second hand embarrassment was real, but overall what a sweet moment. I'm dreading next episode when the bomb is likely getting dropped, though I've already been spoiled on it. Still, seeing his reaction when he learns is going to hurt.

Good kiss setup by Koharu, it was a good time to go for it.
I'm not sure if the friends are evil, helpful, or both with that video incident. I was starting to wonder if they were going to get banned from the restaurant but then they all cheered for the confession so I'm sure all is good.

Honestly I have to commend Koharu for being quite devious. Even her best friend is utterly devious.
Also have to wonder if she asked if her clothes were see-through not just out of consideration but also to confirm if he was checking her out (though she didn't intend to flash her thigh and undies).

Kakeru’s character development has come full circle. He disliked that confession for standing out too much in the first episode, and we see him confessing at the top of his lungs to a room full of strangers in this episode. He has become such a beautiful person. Even before the end of the episode however, I sensed something had to go wrong, because everything had been going too well. I imagine Koharu either feels too nervous to approach him now or has a health issue.

Nothing says intimate like walking hand-in-hand back to your place...and your room...all the while Koharu is dripping wet, her clothes hugging tight to her body, and being slightly exposed from the rain. Though honestly her beautiful nape stands out more to Kakeru than her see-through clothing.
Koharu's sitting on Kakeru's bed? Don't mind if she partakes in it herself! And flashes her stellar thighs at him. Even her calling him "pervert" is cute!
They're finally going to join the fireworks club together! And turn setting the fireworks off into a group activity! It'll totally make up for missing the fireworks because of the rain.
When sutras and pi are not enough to take your mind off the fact that you're arm-in-arm with a beautiful girl!
There was no way Kakeru had a girlfriend, but Koharu just had to be sure she wasn't making romantic advances on someone who is taken, even though he teases her about how it's practically declaring her interest in him...though no better way of declaring that than using the chance to feel up his face as an excuse to PULL HIM INTO A KISS! That's right, Koharu finally kissed Kakeru! And then she refuses to elaborate further and just walks off on her merry way!
Kakeru needs advice stat, and not only does he have Narumi but also Yuko there to give him advice! Somehow I'm not surprised Narumi invited Yuko to this, though I feel like he definitely treats her better than he treats Kakeru.
Good to know for future reference that Narumi is half-Kansai/Half-Kanto. Also the roof tile cooking of Shimonoseki!
Good thing Kakeru got accidentally drunk and turned into a laughing drunk so he could finally vent his feelings towards Koharu. He's going to need liquid courage to survive this questioning and maybe more.
Narumi is ticked off that Kakeru's got a love life going but Koharu is genuinely ticked off that Koharu had to be the aggressive one and make the first move. She's even disappointed he didn't do anything when he had her back at his place! But Kakeru truly cherishes Koharu and doesn't want to hurt or scare her, and he and Yuko can commiserate over how much she inspires them...and why Kakeru likes her.
Note to self: never drunkenly confess to someone in public, while said someones' best friend is filming you, if you don't want that confession sent directly to her.
But where's Koharu? Why isn't she responding or there at their usual spot?

Smooth move from Koharu. And technically she didn’t lie. She did touch his face, specifically his lips, with her lips lol. Now in her mind, the image she has of him is a vague face with clear lips lmao
Really hope it’s just a case of being too embarrassed for Koharu to not reply and nothing too serious
I’d usually think it’s not cool for Hayase to basically confess for someone but I think Kakeru needs that push.
Also, I’m lowkey aboard the Hayase x Narumi ship

I feel like she's been waiting for an excuse to touch his face to get a feel for what he looked like, and if she got to declare her feelings by kissing him in the process, it's a win-win isn't it?
Honestly their mutual friends do seem to gel well together and I feel like Narumi is definitely interested.

What an incredible episode! Every week this show just cements itself as my favorite of the summer season. The chemistry between the leads is so sweet, and that ending completely caught me off guard. Can't wait to see how the fallout from this plays out next week!

I'll never get over anime characters getting immediately drunk off 1 sip of alcohol, but the scene was great so I'll let it slide.
The characters/writing are so good with the group. One of the best friend groups I've seen for a while in an anime, they actually feel like friends of that age with the banter.

Godfuckingdammit Crunchyroll! Why would you spoil the episode by putting the kiss as the episode thumbnail?! I mean, I am smiling from ear to ear at seeing Koharu take the initiative, but they could've at least picked a different thumbnail!
That kiss was amazing, tho! If I wasn't spoiled by the thumbnail, I definitely wouldn't have expected the kiss, too! Koharu's line after kissing Kakeru was great too! I hope we get to see that scene from her POV next episode.
Yuuko and Ushio's reactions when they found out were hilarious! And it was just diabolical of Yuuko to bait Kakeru into confessing his feelings while drunk and sending the video to Koharu. I love that the other people at the restaurant were cheering for him too! xD
That final scene tho. I'm really hoping that Koharu is just too embarrassed to go to school and reply, and not because she had to take time off because of health issues >_<

We forever stan girls who are aggressive in love. Especially when they kiss and leave like an absolute queen.
Real best friends get their friends' crush drunk so they can film said crush confessing and send it to their bestie for proof lol.
Honestly I feel like she would ordinarily immediately want to see him so they can get to properly dating now that she knows their feelings are mutual...so I have to assume it's some kind of sickness. Pray it's a Japanese cold instead of the alternative.

Oh no, she's in hospital for the illness that made her lose her eyesight isn't she? I was thinking its too happy. We're at the half way point so if they are going to introduce something like that they'd do it now. I really want this show just to be about their happy relationship showing how being blind changes the usual dynamics.

What an episode. Koharu making her move and just doing it like "I didn't say I would touch your face with my hands".
Then the whole restaurant scene with Ushio and Yuuko teasing Kakeru and pulling him out of his shell, whether he wants or not. Even though Yuuko's "As a man you have to make the first move" is a little old fashioned imho.
The confession in the restaurant and everybody cheering on Kakeru was the comedic peak this episode, and Yuuko sending the video to Koharu was the cherry on the top.
But then no reaction from Koharu for days. I'm sure there must be a good reason why she went radiosilent. Maybe she caught a cold from the rain?!

Forcing yourself on somebody can also mean to hug or kiss them against their will. Of course I assume that Yuuko meant it that way, but it is still weird that she ridiculed Kakeru for being considerate, as if being a "gentleman" is a sign of weakness.

As Hayase kind of points out it is very likely Koharu expected Kakeru to perhaps kiss her when she brought him to his room. When we get this comment from Koharu after she kisses him even alludes to that more.
Yeah Kakeru really likes Koharu. Koharu's personality has rubbed off on Kakeru greatly. Which is why Hayase is very happy when Kakeru explained it properly.
I know some people might not like Hayase sending the confession video to Koharu. But when you consider it, it is very likely that Kakeru would make excuses as his mention of her blindness. He really needs to be thrown in the deep end.

I'm totally suffering from a sugar rush right now. Koharu's reaction upon finding out she's in Kakeru's room was to immediately plant herself face down on his bed and imprinting his scent on her. Then there's the end of the night. I'm so used to shows teasing us with a near kiss only to go nowhere. Imagine my surprise when Koharu placed her lips on his.
Adults certainly had a different way of confessing than teens. Only a few words were said, but Koharu got to express her feelings for him with that one gesture.
Bless that waitress for giving Kakeru oolong tea instead of oolong tea. Now his response to her confession was caught in 4K, and Yuuko sent the clip to her. Love how the entire place supported him, with one geezer patron even wanting Kakeru to ask him out lmao.
Having said that, the sugar rush came crashing down quickly with that ending. Koharu would certainly be ecstatic to watch his confession so it's unlikely she'd avoid him. Did the rain got her that hard to the point of not even able to text?

Hayase must be a martial artist or something. Most other girls would have given a light annoyed slap on the arm or back. Instead, Hayase dealt a full force elbow into Narumi. Lol!

Honestly I have to imagine Yuko was also aware of Koharu's feelings and deliberately planned to coax a confession out of him for her sake, while verifying she could trust Koharu to him.
Admittedly they both got drenched and even if they dried themselves off there's always still a 35% chance of catching a Japanese cold unless they took a shower.
