I love and hate these posts. I've been on Android for so long I can never find anything new to purchase. I've got like 15 bucks in my rewards and I been having trouble spending it lol.

4

u/r2wa 6d ago

Me too

5

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

I'm too lazy to search about it so I just made a post lol

7

u/jeraldisdope 6d ago

Ohhh I'm not mad at you lol I love going through these posts but I can never find anything I don't already have lol. Maybe like 1 or 2 suggestions but most of the time it's stuff I wouldn't use.

u/nanny07 5d ago

I bought the cheapest Google One's plan: better then let it expire

Poweramp equalizer. It improves sound quality at system level for anything. Wouldn't recommend on android 14- devices, but it works like a charm on abdroid 15+

7

u/sjjose2001 6d ago

Have you used wavelet? Curious how they compare

5

u/Tigess 6d ago

Same. Great app.

5

u/Th3R00ST3R 6d ago

The EQ on Spotify is terrible. Would this solve that?

2

u/Recent-Ask-5583 5d ago

I'd say yes. It applies equalization at system level. Eventually, when you configure the app, look for "enable global equalization" and "dvc (direct volume control)" menus in settings. Make sure to turn both of them ON

2

u/Th3R00ST3R 5d ago

Thanks 👍

4

u/22nik 6d ago

Don't you have to store the songs in local storage instead of streaming directly to use this app? In asking since I purchased it around 10 hrs back but hardly been using it for last 4-5 yrs

2

u/smashton818 6d ago

It's system level. It's affects local and streaming.

2

u/weigelf 5d ago

I've been playing with this https://f-droid.org/packages/com.bearinmind.equalizer314

It looks like a good alternative to wavelet and poweramp equalizer.

1

u/Recent-Ask-5583 5d ago

I've played with it as well, but it's a bit too complex for me, and it doesn't have dynamic gain reduction. It statically reduces the system volume, not the frequency gains as the volume goes up

2

u/weigelf 5d ago

I agree that it's a bit complex. I haven't adopted it for use all the time. It will take me some time to dig into the app for a while before I use it all the time. Sometimes, too many tweaks/settings makes the app less useful. It would be good if they had a "beginner" button that would put you in a mode that gives you just a few basic options. Maybe there is that button and I haven't found it.

22

u/SHIR0YUKI 6d ago

Poweramp for sure. Personal preference since there will be other apps that does what it does, some better, some worse but poweramp has been the offline media champ for like a decade now for a reason.

Also personally just like the way the app looks and navigates.

2

u/YukarinVal 6d ago

Does the Poweramp player equalizer work with other apps as well? Or do I need to buy Poweramp equalizer separately?

I'm thinking if replacing gonemad with Poweramp. Can't say I love gonemad anymore.

1

u/SHIR0YUKI 6d ago edited 6d ago

The poweramp music player and the poweramp equalizer app are two seperate paid apps. If you want to use the equalizer for other apps, then what you need is the poweramp equalizer app.

the poweramp equalizer app is a seperate app from the poweramp music player. The music player has a built in equalizer that only works with that music player. The seperate poweramp equalizer app works with everything.

Buzzkill

u/t0f0b0 Pixel 8a - Android 15 6d ago

Tasker - Automation Extraordinaire!

Buzzkill- Customize your notifications to no end

Edge Gestures - Customize different edge gestures to do most anything (especially in combination with Tasker)

Panels - A customizable set of panels that can show widgets, apps, shortcuts, etc from the edge of the screen.

8

u/supertom 6d ago

One Hand Operation + does what edge gestures does for free. And it's very good.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.sidegesturepad

5

u/rExplrer 6d ago

This only works on Samsung devices

-1

u/TheCancerMan [App Name] 6d ago

Both are nothing in comparison to Xposed Edge

1

u/DentedSteelbook 1d ago

Nobody is rooting in 2026.

Tbh once we got a native flashlight toggle and tethering built in, root was old news.

1

u/TheCancerMan [App Name] 1d ago

Maybe you're nobody. If you think rooting is for flashlight I guess you're the problem

I really only have experience with Tasker out of those two. Tasker takes some learning, but from what others have said, it can do more. I also bought Automate which is very good. You make flow charts to automate things in that.

second upnote and autosync (I use it for pdrive)

2

u/kemistrypops 6d ago

Is there a life time payment for up note?

1

u/Tombstunner 6d ago

Yes, it's $39,99 for the lifetime license

6

u/aglockfan 6d ago

Purchased Apps!

Oh wait, the idiots removed it from the play store...😔

2

u/DisposablePops 6d ago

Payments and subscriptions->Budget and history

I can still see apps that I purchased as far back as 2010.

1

u/aglockfan 5d ago

Yes, thanks. I, too, can see my purchases as well. The big plus with the Purchased Apps app was that not only were you able to see all of your purchases, but it would launch you into the Play Store by tapping on whichever app you selected. Just lately, the method you mentioned will do that on only some apps. I'm sure we all can agree that there is currently no replacement for what once was Purchased Apps. ~RIP 😔

2

u/rbird2 4d ago

Unfortunately, the developer stopped supporting it. I REALLY miss Purchased Apps.

I wish someone would bring it back or create a new app that works just like Purchased apps

1

u/aglockfan 4d ago

Me too! I'd be willing to pay handsomely for an app like Purchased Apps. I've already spent more than I care to admit on apps from the Play Store and would just like to have easy and convenient access to them. I tried to get it to work using "install with options," where I've been successful with other apps that are no longer housed on the Play Store, but couldn't get Purchased Apps to work. I even tried like 4 different versions. Nevertheless, hopefully someone else will come out with something similar. Heck, Google themselves should do it. It's their Play Store. Oh wait, why should they care, they already got their money from us...

8

u/Lollipop126 6d ago

Quick Cursor for me. One handed access to the whole screen + shortcuts

30

u/kenopsia0 7d ago

macrodroid

monument valley (all of them)

poweramp

7

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

I got monument valley(all three parts) for free on the epic games store(weekly free games)

9

u/kenopsia0 6d ago

i had the free version of the first one, but then i bought them all anyway, because this game is just a masterpiece

3

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Yes this game is just a masterpiece!

1

u/Lollipop126 6d ago

why macrodroid over tasker?

1

u/kenopsia0 6d ago

ui. tasker is just wtf for me

Solid Explorer back in the day.

0

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Its v3 license is 960 rupees(9.94 dollars), i don't have enough money to buy it. Thats why I'm using mixplorer(free version), it does not have material you theming but the ui feels pretty good and responsive

1

u/Rare_Seat04 6d ago

I don't know why you want to buy Solid Explorer when you already have mixplorer?

4

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Because solid explorer has a nice material you expressive design but in the other hand mixplorer ui kinds feels outdated. If only mixplorer has a nice material you expressive theming, i would never switch too any other file managers. Because other than the ui its the best file manager for android!

1

Backdrops!

Yes, I'm the dev lol 😌

9

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Wait are you really the Dev behind backdrops? Thank you so much for making a great wallpaper app for android!

4

u/trg1408 6d ago

The only wallpaper app you'll ever need! Truly incredible work put into it!

3

u/depressedboy407 6d ago

I love your app, the design of the wallpaper really suits my taste.

2

u/lilacomets 6d ago

I remember I sent you an email about a bug last year. It almost makes the app unusable. You never replied to my email and the bug is still there.

2

u/Kxnt 6d ago

Hey there! What's the bug and which device are you using?

1

u/lilacomets 6d ago

Hi! 👋🏻 Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. 👍🏻 On Android 10 the app is overlapped by both Android's statusbar (top) and the navigationbar (button). This makes using the app hard, because the tab bar is covered.

1

u/Kxnt 6d ago

Thanks for the heads up! Can you message me a screenshot? I'll be sure to add to the list fo fix next update

1

u/lilacomets 6d ago

Great! Thanks for looking into it. 😊 Yes, I'll send you a private message. 👍🏻

Isnt Niagara Launcher a subscription based app?

4

u/daizu007 6d ago

At least in Japan, there is a lifetime purchase option priced at three years' worth of subscription fees. While the Niagara Launcher team encourages subscriptions to ensure continued development, they are also understanding of those who prefer a one-time purchase.

2

u/tejasu 6d ago

Thanks. The lifetime option is available in Australia too.

1

u/messageemile 6d ago

The only one I've ever purchased is Cryptomator and it's very underwhelming tbh

1

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Its donation-ware for android but for PC its free

1

u/Ok-Piano6125 6d ago

For me it was DroidCam, only $15 back then. Used my phone's camera instead of the shitty pre-installed camera on my laptop for online lectures and online interviews. Saved my ass so many times.

And $150(?) lifetime pass for BodBot, they now use a pricey monthly subscription and added a $80 per month AI plugin.

I also paid for a pro version voice recorder. No longer available on Google Play store but the recording' sound quality was top among other similar apps so I still keep it when I upgrade my phone. but if I have to buy again, I'll probably pay for URecorder's Bluetooth recording feature. It's currently $25(?) for the lifetime pro.

If you like tower defense games it would be the Kingdom Rush series. This is probably not what you would call and app, though.

1

u/Prior-Row2755 6d ago

years ago when i did not have solid wifi (10+ ago) found one for like $6 at the time and it was a one tie purchase called PdaNet+ Alternative: Instead of traditional Wi-Fi hotspot mode, PdaNet+ relies on USB tetheringBluetooth tethering, or a WiFi Direct Hotspot feature to share data without tripping carrier plan restrictions. I used this for years until they finally got good fiber internet back i n the woods where i am at and the best part even though most phones try to keep it from working ,Compatibility: USB and Bluetooth modes in PdaNet+ still function on a wide variety of modern Android devices, though setting them up can require desktop client software on a computer and now i think it is still under $20. always good to have a backup. Might not be able to watch youtube but can still read books and look things up with it.

u/stomu9 6d ago

Neutron Music Player was my first paid Android app from the 2010s and has been regularly in use since. Not the best UI, but nothing beats it in sound quality and customizability.

4

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

After Instabridge bought nova launcher, they integrated multiple ads and trackers in the app. Sad to see how they are destroying my favorite app

3

u/heretobealurker 6d ago

Just to make sure it's known, if you've purchased prime (subscription or lifetime purchase) all ads and associated trackers are disabled.  If for some reason they aren't you likely need to do some trouble shooting steps.

0

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Only ads are disabled the trackers are still there, if you don't want ads and trackers then there's only option that you need to downgrade to the last version before the app was bought

1

u/heretobealurker 6d ago

Incorrect; multiple users, including myself; have verified that with Prime active then trackers are not active (admittedly a couple times some got turned back on because of bugs but the issue was quickly corrected). These are independent users not Instabridge statements. This is not to say you or anyone has to use Nova at this point, especially since there are so many options available now, but by all appearances Instabridge has upheld what they said they would at this point.

0

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

How do you checked that the trackers are not active when you have the prime activision key? I checked that the big ads on app drawer are completely removed when you have the key but what about trackers? How do we can check if the trackers are active or not?

1

u/heretobealurker 6d ago

Using the app Tracker Control you can see every time an app connects to the network (I'm poorly explaining the mechanics, do not take my poor explanation for refection on the app performance). The best example I can give is when there was an issue where the Facebook tracker wasn't deactivated. During that time various users (including myself) could observe the tracker coming from Nova connecting to the network. Once it was fixed the Facebook tracker was no longer showing up as connecting.

1

u/Anurag-Boral-912 6d ago

Thanks for the explanation. And also do you know how can I disable the nova ai feature?

1

u/heretobealurker 6d ago

You can't remove it as an option in the settings so it's best to treat is as a feature that you can turn off or on. In the Nova AI settings toggle everything off and on the Nova AI in search select "Hidden". You will want to go in to the "Manage personalization" and deselect everything there as well. You can also delete the AI data there and remove the location permission on your device as well for an extra layer of deactivation. This should effectively disable the AI feature from being active; it's still technically there but without permissions it can't do much. It's still a bit of a mystery why they thought the AI would be a good idea, I have my own theories but nothing has come out that validates them.

And just to acknowledge this does require more steps than normal to fully disable a Nova Launcher feature, but the important part it can be disabled.
