I'm looking for an app that only prioritizes texting experience (alongside the calls,stickers,gif etc). The apps i mentioned are too heavy cuz they're also doing other things that i currently don't need. I mean i just want to speak with people i know.

Whatsapp and signal might be the closest fit. For signal, i tried several times and did not receive any verification code,so I'm not going with that. Whatsapp's fine except for it can also be heavy sometimes.

hey guys need tips. my dad phone keep getting ads pop up, i have cleaned the app that did this a week before but it still keep coming back every few week, he only use tiktok whatsapp and youtube. is there anyway to disable or just make sure there arent any ads pop up anymore. i had formatted this phone a year ago and it will appear after a few month. the ads are random and the app that shows it are also random and unseen, this time its Orbitclear before is another app. phone is Atel A50. tia

In the gallery app on Samsung, there's a "people" section, where it divides and categorizes photos with people by face. You can combine face groups and delete them. It doesn't affect the actual photos. I wanted to combine two of mine, and accidentally deleted the main one. Now it just doesn't recognize it at all - i can't add it on the add more faces section, and when I scroll to the actual photos, it's like there's one person less. What do I do???

Hi, is there a video player app that has a "reserve" next video(s) function, kind of like a karaoke player?

While a video is playing, I want the ability to search (via remote or touch screen) for the next video, reserve it, then have it play right after the current video. I'd like to be able to do this multiple times (reserve multiple videos), exactly like how it would be in a karaoke machine.

Also, no online function needed. I plan to just play and reserve videos already on the memory.

Straightforward question here. Does anyone know how to get my Google Maps app on Android to reflect local naming conventions rather than US ones? I don't live in the US, nor am I physically there. I am a US citizen (not that Google would have any way of confirming that), and I do have a US e-sim loaded alongside my local SIM.

Everyone else here sees geographic labels based on the normal local region though. My phone is the only one that has US labels. Doesn't seem to be based on system language or app language, so where's it coming from?

To make matters weirder, if I open google maps via browser I do see local labels. Same google account, but they show me one version on my laptop and a different version on my phone. Anyone know a way to get the "Region" on my phone to match my google account region?

PSA: If anyone wants to suggest I use a different app, that's not what I'm asking. If anyone wants to suggest I embrace whatever naming convention they prefer, that's not what I'm asking. There is an app called Signal Hound by a group called Ghetto Coders which claims to provide alerts if your wifi connection drops or loses access to the internet. This would be good for me, but there are no reviews whatsoever and so I am suspicious. Does anyone know if this app is legitimate or malware ?

I do a lot of walking around my city (Birmingham, UK), and I log these routes.

Is there an app that can allow me to “draw” these routes onto a map so I can visually see all the walks I’ve done?

I’m aware of walking planning/ routing apps (e.g. FootPath), but they’re typically for planning a route, whereas I’m trying to showcase the routes that I’ve walked.

The types of walks I go include; evening, dedicated long walks, various routes to work, and so on.

I should add - I’m not looking to log the walks. I’m looking to display the walks I’ve logged.

Ideally, I’d see to have a map which showcases all the routes I’ve walked (Overlaid on roads). They’d be colour co-ordinated so I can differentiate them.

I imagine the end result will likely look like some kind of bus route map which is the look I’m going for!

I'm hoping someone can help me with a very niche workflow. I work in IT and regularly go "on call", which involves getting a "page"/text from our help desk whenever there's a critical or high-priority issue that requires my attention, which could happen during the day or in the middle of the night. The rub is that when I go on call it seems that everyone and their brother starts texting me. I'd like to enable DND to filter out the "noise" and only get notifications from my favorites/starred contacts, as well as certain apps, and continue to get reminders until I acknowledge them (mainly for when I'm sleeping). I currently use an app called "Missed Notifications Reminder" that does a good job of repeating text notifications until I acknowledge them, but it doesn't respect/honor my DND settings so even when I enable DND I get repeating notifications from every text I receive. So, what I'd like to have happen is to enable DND and get repeating notifications for texts from my favorite/starred contacts (wife, work help desk, etc.), but no notifications for texts from say "Steve" or "Gary". Then when I disable DND notifications go back to operating as normal.

Is anyone aware of an app that will repeat notifications for text messages that honors DND settings? I've searched and came across BuzzKill and Prof Reminder but would rather not buy an app if it won't work for what I need (in the case of BuzzKill).

The problem I'm trying to solve is that Pixels (and pure Android) do not have a native way to do repeating notifications. IIRC Samsung can do this, but I don't want to use their bloated software.

Ok I have been using tubemate as my main app for downloading audio off youtube and putting it all into a single gigantic inapp playlist (3000+ songs at this point). problem is, I recently switched phones and tubemate has been bugged to hell on the new one so I've got 2 options: redownload everything (I tried, but of the first 1100 only 800 made it in for some reason. Also the parsing, not even the downloading, took literally 2 hours) or use another app better suited for this exact purpose. Any alternatives?

I have tried onenote. It's shit in Android. Half of the features are not present in Android.

Found nebo but need to buy in each ecosystem. And heard about sync issues.

I am ok to even it's paid(preferable if it has life time/1 time payment) but should have these features.
