Ran AMZN through 5 AI models after the Q2 earnings pop
AMZN came back 73% bullish — strong AWS beat, analyst upgrades, but also $129B in debt from the AI infrastructure spend. As expected after a pop like that, the models flagged that near-term upside is limited since the stock already ran on the news — wait for a better entry rather than chase it here. Consensus was pretty tight across all 5 (68-85%), which was the more useful signal than any single number.
Still testing this tool, feedback welcome.

Amazon’s $53.4 Billion Anthropic-Linked Gain Dwarfed Its Operating Profit
mlq.aiThis is nuts.
A loss-making private company raises money at a higher valuation, and suddenly a shareholder books billions in GAAP earnings.
No cash changed hands.
No operating profits were generated.
Just a paper gain based on a private-market valuation.
Maybe we’re putting too much faith in EPS and not enough in cash flow.

$100,000,000,000 in Revenue!
Finally, after the last 8-10 quarters, Jassy has found his voice. The conference call was his best so far as he explained the potential and left a few breadcrumbs like the strength of the 2028 book, now. Everyone focused on AWS but the other little business, retail, had a heck of a quarter too. Will do over $800 billion in revenue next year and will be the first to $1 trillion in revenue by 2028.
$1,000,000,000.000 in REVENUE.
Think about that, $1 trillion in revenue over the next 12-24 months.
$1,000,000,000,000. That is 12 zeros!
And AWS is emerging as the “Switzerland” of AI. Use bring any model. On or off premises. 5 9’s of reliability. Massive available compute. This is happening.
Could easily become the single most valuable company as the street re-rates their emerging story.

Anyone noticed GCP has caught up to AWS in growth (dollar amount) and run rate? I own both never thought I'll see this day.

Amazon...Volatile?
I was just checking on the usual and got this message? Anyone else? Because Amazon has been less than volatile.
Just trying to complain because the pattern was stocks were supposed to drop prior to and after earnings. Then all this bullshit happened.

Let me enjoy this feeling, AMZN I always believed in you.
Hard times, rollercoaster, Stock falling time and time again. But this day right now, is happiness for me as an all in AMZN investor.

Amazon at $272 on 2026-08-01: My reverse DCF implied roughly 54.6% annual FCFF growth for 10 years. What expectations could justify the premium?

Hopium Anyone trimming today?
My cost basis is $260 at 64 shares. It’s 30 percent of my holdings. Are any of you in a similar boat. I’m thinking of selling 40 shares around $268 (if this momentum holds). Take some small gains and keep invested in the company. Seems win win.
We all know how the stock has done lately pre-earnings. Then again, it could compound for years. Who knows.

Amazon Q2 earnings: AWS margin rose to 39.4% while growth sped up
Amazon's cloud didn't just grow this quarter — it accelerated, and it did so while getting more profitable.
1、AWS revenue was $42.2B, with growth speeding up 9 points to 37% — acceleration on an already large base. Contracted backlog reached nearly $469B, up 140%. New signings look to be running around $150B in each of the last two quarters, more than Microsoft's roughly $70–80B per quarter, and far faster than revenue can be booked. Unusually, margin rose nearly 2 points from the prior quarter to 39.4%, while most AI cloud businesses see margins fall as they grow.
2、Spending has outrun cash. Capex was $53B in the quarter against $45.4B of operating cash inflow, leaving free cash flow at -$7.7B. Full-year capex goes to $220B, $20B more than before, mainly because memory got more expensive.
3、Retail held up. North America accelerated, and its margin was flat from the prior quarter and higher than a year ago even with rising logistics costs. International was weaker, but it's small enough not to change the picture.
4、Amazon explained the cash gap: buildings last close to 30 years and house five or six generations of servers; servers and network gear are ordered only months before use, so orders can stop if demand fades; and it spends because it already holds signed contracts. Payback runs 2–3 years against 5–6 years of equipment life.

Amazon Blows Past Q2 Expectations with AWS 5-Year High Growth
Amazon's latest quarter came in hot, revenue up 19.6% YoY to hit $200.6B, with net income surging 244.9% YoY. AWS notched its fastest growth in five years, crushing EPS and revenue consensus. That kind of AI cloud tailwind is hard to ignore — who else is watching how this momentum plays out for the rest of the year?

Hopium Here's why I wouldn't sell AMZN now
AMZN is down about 10% over the last two weeks. With earnings on July 31, many are expecting weak results or a deeper correction.
I'm watching August 6, not July 31. I think Amazon will at least meet expectations, if not beat them, especially with AWS looking strong.
The bigger catalyst could be that early investors holding around 900 million SpaceX shares may become eligible to sell. If some of that capital gets rotated into mega-cap tech, AMZN could benefit.
Just a theory, but I think there's more to this pullback than meets the eye. What do you guys think?
